Can the Experience Builder interface be changed to white background and black/gray text? I have not found a way to do this. There is so much talk of accessibility, but the black background and white/gray text is less accessible to people like me with visual issues. I know I have to update all my WAB apps but I'm so unmotivated to learn Experience Builder just looking at the interface. It is hard to see unselected menu items in gray text, they just blend in to the black background. I know all the cool kids are digging this kind of interface, but there needs to be a way to change it, like there is in Pro. Please let me know if I've overlooked the obvious way to change this. Thanks!

Oh, thanks, I was reading too fast. Thanks for the input on separating Portal and Server. I hadn't had the experience of support asking about rolling back to a snapshot before, hadn't occurred to me.

Well, I'm back. I'm hoping to use the Join Sites strategy to migrate my portal and servers. Then I came across the following which says the join sites server has to have same operating system and hardware specs as the existing servers in the site. The reason I'm migrating is to get a more updated operating system that is supported with the later versions of portal and server. I want to go from Windows 2008 R2 on the Portal server and Windows 2012 on the Server to Windows 2019. I was thinking of installing both Portal and Server on a new single larger VM, joining each to my existing Portal and Server sites. But the new VM won't have the same operating systems or hardware specs. Do I have to give up my Join Site strategy because of this? Just found this page: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/10.9.1/deploy/windows/join-a-machine-to-a-site.htm Where it has this paragraph: Considerations before joining a site The Join Site operation adds a new machine to an existing ArcGIS Server site. This can be done temporarily to migrate to new machines, or more permanently to increase the resources and processing power of your server site. If you are using Join Site to migrate, the new and existing machines do not need to match, but if you intend to keep all machines in the site, it is recommended that you ensure they meet the following criteria: The new machine must be running on the same operating system platform as the other ArcGIS Server machines in the site. It is recommended that you use the same operating system version and hardware resources for all machines in your site. For example, if you have a site comprised of ArcGIS Server machines, each running on Windows Server 2008 R2 with a 3 GHz processor and 8 GB of RAM, the machine you add to the site should also have the same operating system and hardware specifications.

I was thinking the join site should probably work but I've never done it before, so I'm a little nervous about it. My Portal is federated with Server.

My 10.6.1 Portal is running on a physical machine with an old operating system that doesn't support upgrades. My WebAdaptor server running on HyperV with old operating system that doesn't support upgrades. My 10.6.1 Server with Image Extension on older virtual machine, also with older operating system that doesn't support more than one level of upgrades, needs to move to new virtual environment. My idea: move Portal and Server onto the same, new virtual machine at 10.6.1, then upgrade once they are running. Will this work? Should I forget about doing it myself, and get a quote from professional services? My IT guy's engineers will set up the environments.

I am using the Gallery tool for daily COVID-19 press releases. I am forced to create a new group every 16 work days just to continue to display these. I am accumulating numerous groups with no other function than holding 16 days' worth of press releases. I need a capacity of at least 50 or 100.

The reason I began this thread is that I'm using the Gallery in a non-GIS application. I'm using it to create an archive of daily press releases on COVID-19 statistics on our COVID HUB site. I'm populating the Gallery by assigning the documents to a group. Since I can only have 16 documents in a Gallery, I am forced to create a new group every 17 days. My ArcGIS.com organization is getting cluttered by all these groups. It would be nice to have at least 31 items in a gallery, then I'd only have to create a new group once a month. 60 items would be even better. Of course, that's an unwieldy amount of items if you're thinking of Gallery as a way to showcase a few maps. This is an unusual case but the Gallery is a handy way to create an archive on a back page of a HUB site.

You're right about this being tough to troubleshoot. The data was published as referenced, the data is versioned, I don't have the error in front of me but it basically said it couldn't see the data. I owned the data, there is no one besides me in the database. It's a particular feature dataset giving problems, it's the one I use the most. It's acting a little bit corrupt. It works to edit the data in ArcMap, exporting the data is fine, simply can't publish from it or make the previously published services see the data. I don't remember doing anything with the database in the time it stopped working, don't understand how it's a little corrupt, and clueless about what to do to fix it. This feature dataset is a "set it and forget it" thing, it's been humming along for years till it didn't.

It's operating system authentication, no update of passwords, no changes discovered. Windows Update History shows nothing for the time period. I'm the only person with access.

I have one SQL Server 2017 feature dataset where I can use the data in maps and edit it, but the publish operation fails after packaging. Previously created services using this data suddenly stopped working between a Friday and Monday. Esri Tech Support helped me troubleshoot permissions, etc, and isolate the issue to my most often used feature dataset. Other SQL data outside that feature dataset publish just fine. I tried exporting the data to file geodatabases, then creating a new feature dataset and importing the feature classes into that. This had same issue of publishing. I also tried importing the data that was exported to file geodatabases back to the database but not inside a feature dataset, same issue of publishing. My only SQL Server experience has been installing it and upgrading from 2008 R2 to 2017. I don't know my way around SQL Server. I'm looking for someone with more SQL Server knowledge to tell me if there's anything I can do to make this data behave again, tell me what the operation is called, point me in the right direction. Thanks!

We have a very small deployment, one ArcGIS Server and site on VM, and I am running Image Server as an extension on ArcGIS Server, 10.6.1. Esri tech support helped me work through that process. My actual imagery is on a physical server (soon to be virtual, I hope) that is also running Portal. All I use Image Server for is to create mosaic datasets.

I am using the gallery card to post daily press releases on coronavirus statistics. The limitation of 16 might make sense when you are talking about maps but it doesn't meet the need of creating an archive/library of daily press releases. I populate the gallery with a group, and every 16 days I have to create a new group for the new gallery card. So it's giving me a huge overload of groups with similar content.

I'm trying to figure out how to run Process Monitor when I run the DR tool. Is that through the Process Monitor GUI or through a command line? There's so much going on in Process Monitor that I can't figure out how to pare it down to this task.

Process Monitor. I guess my lack of server background is showing now, I had never heard of Process Monitor until you mentioned it. This is a very helpful suggestion. Now I'm going to read up on the help, possibly learn how the filtering works so I can see DR tool activities without the noise of everything else. Thanks for being patient with my dumb questions. Our GIS servers pre-dated the advent of our in-house IT guy, so he refuses to touch the GIS servers.
