@MapleBake I think I found the answer a couple of days ago when this issue came up again. Embarrassingly enough I think there was already built a 15 degree declination into the actual symbol! The Triangle used as a pointer was angled at 345.

We copy the photos taken with Collector App from our Samsung Android tablets and save them as "originial photos". Now we have switched to Field Maps and I cannot find the photos on the tablet anywhere. Where are they?

I am in New Hampshire which has about 15 degrees West declination. My coordinate system in arcmap is NAD_1983_StatePlane_New_Hampshire_FIPS_2800_Feet. I am showing points with an arrow which is rotated and should point the way I was looking at that point. These are overlaid a boundary survey and they are often a bit off but I have attributed that to the compass in the tablet used not being very good. But here I have an example where the survey lines are directly north/south and east/west. I have to points at the corner with rotation angle (geographic) of 270 and 180 but they are not pointing 270 and 180: If I add the 15 degrees declination it lines up as it should: I just don't understand why I should have to add the declination. If anything (in West declination) I thought you added it when you went from map to the field and subtract when going from field to map, so if anything I should be subtracting it, but that will just make it all even worse. Struggling to wrap my head around this. What am I missing?

I made a new webmap by choosing Save As option. Then added new layers and removed some old ones. The original 2020 map could be downloaded for offline use, but the new 2021 map cannot and does not have the "Enable offline mode" button in Settings. I went through all layers and they all have the "Enable Sync (required for offline use and collaboration)." I saw in other posts that people were talking about the basemap, but that is the same ESRI world imagery as in the orginal map so dont think that can be the issue. Other posts also mentioned Enterprise, but we are not Enterprise. We are trying to use it in Collector Classic and Collector, but it shouldnt really matter since the problem is that I dont get the option to enable offline use of the 2021 map. Hope someone can help

I am having the same problem. Have made a new map by using 'Save As' and then adding a new layer to that and the old map could be downloaded for offline but the new one cannot - it does not have the button to allow offline use under Settings. I have gone through the layers and they all have "Enable Sync (required for offline use and collaboration)."

Last reply was a while ago, but we are having same issue - tracking not working in New Collector app. We use AGOL (not enterprise). A little confused whether we need another app running along side Collector app or if this was a functionality supposed to come to collector app....

Thanks for your reply Owen. I have posted this as a suggestion in the Ideas Board. Thanks for the tip on not showing layers in the legend! Cheers Shaun

To me, as soon as you have more than one thing in a map, you need to let people know what's what, and to that end a legend is useful. I see this as a general thing/rule and am very surprised how/why it is even a consideration NOT to have legends. I was extremely surprised and disappointed when I first realized how limited the availability of legends are in StoryMaps. For my current specific example: I work at a Land Trust and want to show the public our conserved lands and I intend to use the Explorer map to do this because it allows users to 'browse' through our lands back and forwards between the map and list of properties. There are different levels of public access to the different lands and we use a thematic layer to show different categories in different colours on the map. We can write somewhere on the page that 'This colour = that" but that's really not very intuitive or as visible as a simple Legend. As is possible in for example an Express map I would suggest this same option is allowed in Explorer maps.

For now, I have placed an Express map at the top of the page with a legend but it is clunky to say the least that people have to go there to see the legend and then go down the page to see the Explorer map with property descriptions and so forth. And since we are at it - I would put forth a request that its also possible to choose which layers are shown in a legend (if this is already possible I haven't figure out how), since my legend is showing some background shading I have put on the map to direct attention to our service area but I really don't want that in a legend. Cheers Shaun

Thanks, but we can work around it. Luckily we are a small organization. Im just very surprised at some of these limitations (also seems that some things only work if ALL content in a webmap has the same owner) since it must be hard to use in a large organization with many people working and sharing (which seems to be the big buzword in AGOL and "Pro" with all the required Tags and whatnot) but then everything has be have ONE owner...
