This not a technical 'how to' question but rather an artistic/cartographic one. I often have to make maps with several different (polygon) layers overlapping each other, and it can be very difficult to make each discernible and look good. I am trying to use the new Story Maps (Beta). I have a design in the Classic - a Shortlist type where you can navigate around in a map and click on a feature and then go to the picture & description (tab) of that feature. I have seen this called an Index map.  I am not seeing this as an option which really surprises me - we wan this to be interactive so the user can choose what they want to see and read about and not us giving them a set stream of information they have no control over. I have made symbology based on domains from a Layer file in Pro and made ArcGIS online map with that. It shows up correctly in ArcGIS online but when I upload the map to Collector app the layer which just was one simple symbol shows up correctly but the layers where the symbology is based on domain/attributes do not show up. I have a map in ArcGIS ONline that we make a new version of each year to use in Collector App. We put in new layers for the new year but keep three previous years of these layers. Somehow my previous colleague managed to copy the symbology from the previous years to the new (year)layers. How can I do this? I saw one post where they copied "Drawinginfo" in HTML/JSON but I know nothing about that and when I tried it, I cot an error message that I have no idea how to handle. But that post was three years old, so I was hoping this had been made easier in the meantime?? So can I copy symbology from one (similar)layer to another, or somehow import the layer into ArcGIS Online with the correct symbology? ... View more

I am Role: Publisher and User Type; Creator and another user in my organization has made a new map with new layers. It is shared with the Organization and we even added that it is shared with a Group we are both in, but I can still not see the map or layers. We were having problems that the other user couldnt see things but when I also shared with the Group that made it visible to the other user. But we cant make it so I can see what the other user has made.... Whats up? ... View more

As discussed in this link (https://community.esri.com/thread/198691-create-layer-from-selected-features-isnt-working-properly), sometimes, after you have created a new layer from a selection and then change the symbology, the layer shows all the original features and not just the selected ones. This is in ArcGIS Desktop 10.6 What gives? ... View more

I have a text (box) and a picture which I want to Align Right. The Picture is in the correct position but the size and position changes depending on what the text is, so I am trying to align the text to the picture. However, it seems rather random if it aligns the text to the picture or the picture to the text. I have tried different combinations of the order in which I select the two elements and over which element the mouse is when I right-click and choose Align Right. ... View more
