Hi, this discussion is about ArcPy ( python in arc gis ), thus not related to CityEngine. I'd like to move this discussion to an other 'place' to keep the CityEngine place clean. Though, I don't have admin rights at the moment, so I can't do this. @ J 😧 Can you try and move this discussion to a better spot ? Otherwise, let me know, then I can organize this. Matt

Hi, due to living in a different time zone, I am not able to attend such meetings. But the missing categories make it impossible to do efficient and structured work here. I don't have time to filter through thousands of threads that may be related to '3d'. The usability so far is a huge step back. Everybody everywhere used Forums. Why reinvent the wheel ? m.

it works in CE 2014.1 (current version in development here). seems this issue will be resolved in the next version. to support holes properly, we had to touch everything in CGA. thus, this was implemented over multiple releases.. hope you understand .. matt

Hi ! Maybe try this: use the default atts that work with the styles, but then also add a second attr (for the same thing), which you enable when needed. e.g. attr 'height' > set by style then: attr 'height2' > use wherever needed. make sense ? * * * maybe use such a construct in a function: getHeight =
case whichAttr == "first":
height1
else:
height2
@Range ("first", "second")
attr whichAttr = "first"
attr height1 = 5
attr height2 = 10

try: Street -->
print (geometry.du(0, unitSpace))
print (geometry.dv(0, unitSpace))
these are basically the 'arc lengths' of the UV-coordinates on the street geometries. ok ? matt

Hi .. just initialize the attr name in a rule, then point the attribute source to the imported data (object attributes).
attr Existing_L = ""
Shape -->
case Existing_L == "value 1":
color(1,0,0)
else:
color(0,0,1) and so on .. ok ? m.
