I am having a similar issue with my Data Store validating within AGS and Portal. We are running Enterprise 10.7.1 in a four server federated environment. The first error below has an error message that reads in part: "Error: failed to validate the server managed database '/enterpriseDatabases/AGSDataStore_ds_xxxxx". The server admin server is accessible and functioning as intended. What I have tried thus far to get things working (without success): 1. Restart the AGS Data Store on its server (test validation) 2. Within AGS admin changed the Data Store machine format from HTML to JSON (tested for validation) 3. Changed the format from JSON to HTML (tested for validation) 4. Ran the ‘update license’ tool on the DS machine (tested for validation) 5. Restarted the whole Data Store server (tested for validation) Also, I can remote into all of my servers and they are working as intended. So I would appreciate hearing ideas on how to resolve this Data Store issue.

Navigator staff, When adding a CSV to an Insights workbook and enabling it's location, I will continuously get the "Something went wrong" display within a card when creating a chart. What's frustrating is the locations will map but will not display a chart no matter what combination of attributes I choose to display. Also, there is no explanation as to why/what/when a data table will fail or indicate why "something went wrong"? I think many other Insights users have the same/similar issue. It would helpful for an error code or results more detailed than "Unable to process request. Unknown operation/Not implemented " taken from Server Manager to try to diagnose the problem with a dataset or the application. My Insights is running on 10.5.1 and V.2.3 WM

Suggested Improvements for Insights • Enable SQL query capability for data tables connected/imported into Insights • Ability to create a set of defaults; ie: ‘hide legend’ option, choose color palates for charts/graphs, diagrams • Ability of change any colors, no color scale choices exist • There are very limited resources in the Help Documentation; ie: there is no ‘How To’ create a line graph with two datasets, • Ability for shared workbooks to print pages (currently only workbook owners can print a page) • No ability to add custom vector tile maps (or map package) Insights is one of the better apps developed and released by Esri in a long time. The list of improvements are feedback that will create more users if they can be resolved.

Nathan, Aravind, Thanks for the replies to my post. On Nathan's suggestion, I will add some recommendations to the Ideas site. It will probably be easier to get suggestions out there instead of on GeoNet. GeoNet is not always the best page for a brain dump, especially when attempting to go into detail.

Is there any possible way to create a sql query or a def query within Insights? As far as I can tell sql queries are not possible within a joined table in Insights. It seems to be a very noticeable limitation on this platform. One way I have experimented with to work around this is to create a joined query later in ArcMap and then publish that service to Portal. Needless to say it's not the easiest or most fun way to create an Insights workbook. If anyone has some ideas, I would love to hear them. -Thanks

Has anyone been able to create an analysis services database connection within Insights? The Insights help page only lists four types of database connections but there is no mention of an analysis services connection. Can this be remedied by installing an extra OLEDB driver on the web adaptor or data store? Does anyone have some advice and discoveries to share? -Thanks

I think Esri misses the boat by not having a universally viable alternative to download maps. For those of us who have work restrictions with security protocols, iTunes will never be feasible. So, let's get going Esri mobile team and find all of us users some good solutions!

More of general question about the map download: Are there any alternatives besides in app downloads and the side load from iTunes? I imagine that others would like to have a general alternative or option for downloading the state or regional maps to Navigator, especially when wi-fi strength and connectivity is an issue. For many of us using iTunes is not necessarily a viable option for use. Specifically, could Esri make available the state or regional mmpks on AGOL for download (then upload to Navigator)?

Issues adding CSV users to AGOL · ‎03-14-2017

Is anyone else having issues adding a CSV user list to AGOL? Or is ESRI doing some sort of AGOL site maintenance to their site today (pi day). I have tried multiple ways to resave the data and try smaller numbers of users to upload but with no success. If anyone has encountered the same issue and successfully resolved it, your answers would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have an understanding or reason why the "input fields" have changed for these two locators? It makes very little sense from a planning perspective to change Input Fields from a previous set-up and release (2013) to a new set-up (2015) to the old set-up (2016). Come on guys....

It would be greatly helpful if users could create a hybrid basemap for Navigator. The current process to develop a custom basemap for Navigator through ArcPro is tiered for creating a Mobile Map Package with all of the users own assets. What would be more useful for Navigator users would be their own base layer data and then use the Esri geocoders/locators and roads. Should we expect this option in future Navigator releases? Or will Esri/Jack D make this an all or nothing proposition?

It seemed like user error on my part. The demo exercises worked well, but I still need to produce an offline map using our own data. I’ll keep the GeoNet updated.

I've created a custom basemap in ArcPro and shared it with our organization AGOL account. Strangely enough, when searching for my new custom map it can't be found from the iPhone. Has anyone had these same issues? Has anyone figured out to work around or resolve this issue? Thanks
