Is it possible to calculate statistics based on a multiple ring buffer

I am interested in knowing how much changes in the size of a sample plot (1 m2, 5 m2, 20 m2, etc)would affect min, max, and mean raster DEM values for that sample plot (originally a point file). It seems that I could just create several buffers of different diameters, ask for zonal stats, and then unify the resulting tables. However I was wondering if there was a simpler approach that used the multiple ring buffer.  When I look at the attribute table from the multiple ring buffer, there are separate rows for each combination of sample plot ID and buffer distance but I am not sure how to ask for the statistics to be calculated for each of these combinations.   Any thoughts on whether this can be done?

Here is a link to a script which will take a feature class with overlapping polygons and calculate Zonal Statistics as Table for each of the polygons.
