Hi Caleb I came across this a few weeks ago with another site here in Auckland. It seems like a sort of custom install was rolled out to the business and python was not installed correctly. It happens a lot when IT roll out GIS software across the organisation. Also, can you check if Python 2.7 is installed under ArcGIS ? Are there any other copies of Python 2.7 still hanging around the machine? Perhaps the Python windows environmental variables need still to be configured, I have always done the ESRI standard installation and it has always worked for me. Susan

Amit Kokje and myself put together a working prototype for the ESRI South East Asia Conference held in Auckland in 2012. The 2 necessary datasets were lidar and building foot prints. With these, there is enough 3D and Geoprocessing capabilities in arcpy to formulate the roof top delineation prediction algorithm.

Howzit Ryan, Jose Did you ever get clarification from ESRI whether this is a bug in the software, or if this can be sorted out by adjusting the the internet security configurations. ? We are experiencing the same issue with consuming mixed content map services. Awesome feedback -I love the Geonet user participation and engagement. Susan

Tom: Perhaps it might be an idea to put this out to ESRI Technical support to sort out. We have encountered the same issue and in our case it was fixed with the internet security settings and the Local Group Policy. Your issue is proving more difficult to troubleshoot. Susan

We had this problem after the upgrade of Internet Explorer 8 across to Internet Explorer 10/11. To get around this, the service user will require the change to it's profile Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Security Uncheck "Check for publisher's certificate revocation" Uncheck "Check for server certificates revocation*"

Hi Shirley Seems like the demo portal license for 10.3 timed out last month and this is preventing access. Back to the ESRI Reseller to fix up. Many thanks for your help. Susan

Hi Shirley The issue is still that the Location Types will not populate. I was ambiguous when I said that the Developer was not able to add the excel data source. This should have been Spreadsheet data source. The data source creates and is binded no problem. From there Launch ESRI Map Designerdoesn't populate the data source. Susan

Hi Shirley, many thanks. You are too awesome. I'll pass it on to the BO Developer this morning. We will get some testing done and report back shortly, in the next 2-3 hours. Do we still have to have the proxy configs set up if we are in the same corporate network?

Hi Shirley By upstream proxy, are you referring to the proxy server for the organisation? We have this enabled, restarted Tomcat and still not able to add from the table. We have ESRI Maps for Business Objects and it is is falling down at the point where an excel data source does not show up in the panel on the left when it is added to the ESRI Control in dashboard. Ok, how have you defined the connection string in the file? The bit under "instance" should be something like sde:sqlserver:[gisserver]

The AppData folder is hidden by default. Go back and unhide it so arcpy can atleast see the sde connection file specified.

Check the properties of the sde connection file. Have the credentials been saved? Is it sql or windows authentication? Check the process running the script has the correct permissions.
