Thanks for the response Hannah...although not the response I was hoping for. Is this a subtle hint that I should abandon ArcPad all together and begin migrating to ArcGIS for Mobile? Or will there be synchronization possibilities between ArcGIS for Server 10.1 (and beyond) and future releases of ArcPad??

I cannot find any information in the 10.1 help about the ArcPad Extension for ArcGIS Server....can anybody direct me to some literature? I would like to use this extension to check in field edits through synchronization. Will the ArcGIS Server ArcPad 10 Extension work on 10.1? I would like find out if it will work before going through the hassle of convincing my IT Department to install the extension on our ArcGIS Server. Thanks.

I am trying to simply edit a .dbf table in ArcMap. Here are the steps that I am trying: 1. Add the .dbf table to my map 2. Right click on the Table, go to Edit Features > Start editing 3. Open the table in ArcMap 4. Select some records At this point the I would expect the "Delete Selected" button on the table to be active, but it is not. The only way that I can delete records from a .dbf table at this point is to use the "Delete Rows" tool (ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Table > Delete Rows). This seems like an extra, unnecessary step. Why can I no longer edit a .dbf table like I could at 10.0???

Use arcpy.Copy_management(in_data, out_data) If you specify your featureclass as in_data, any related tables and relationship classes will be copied along with it.

Sorry for not responding...forgot to set th notify me by email subscription. I just happend to stumble across this thread again. If you install the ArcObjects SDK you will be able to navigate to the GdbDomainTools.dll, right click on it, choose register, select desktop and that should do it. I just had a co-worker test this out and it worked for her.

Through the layer properties, you can disable the Edit Form by unchecking it in the Table of Contents. Or through code you could do something like this:
For each l in Application.Map.Layers
if l.Name = "TC_PlotPts" then
l.Properties("ShowEditForm") = False
end if
next
In this example I am looking for a layer named "TC_PlotPts" in my map. If it is in my map, I turn the edit form off by setting that layers ShowEditForm property to false. As far as adding values to the features, you could set default values in your form or geodatabase. Or you could write some sql statements to update the attributes of the newly collected point.

I was able to get it to work. I navigated to the GdbDomainTools.dll (..\src\GdbDomainTools\bin\Release), right clicked on the file and clicked register. It poped up a dialog asking which product I wanted to register it for (Choose desktop). I then closed and reopened ArcCatalog and the additional tab showed up on the Database Properties window....it still seems to work at 10.0. This tools is great!

I had a similar issue and fixed it using this thread. This can be found under the Project Menu -> "ProjectName" Properties... then on the Compile Tab Towards the bottom, make sure theat the "Register for COM interop" checkbox is unchecked, and try building it again.

Check this out from ArcScripts: http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=16275 This tool was great back at 9.3.1, but it does not appear to work with 10.0. I have not looked into converting to 10.0, but perhaps someone else has already done it?

Try using IGxDialog as described here: http://forums.esri.com/thread.asp?c=93&f=992&t=302866 Or, you could click the check box for "Return to last used location when Add Data dialog first used" on the General tab of the ArcMap Option dialog found under Customize menu -> ArcMap Options... See attached screenshot.

I'm not sure why the way you are trying doesn't work....maybe there is more to a selection than just highlighting? As an alternative, you could simply clear the selected features: ...... case vbno Application.ExecuteCommand ("clearselected") exit sub .......

Do you have the variable KMZ declared somewhere else in the script? I think what you are trying to do is write out a kmz file for each layer in your directory and give it the Layers name....does that sound right? Put this into your For loop: outKMZ = layer[:4] + ".kmz" arcpy.LayerToKML_conversion(layer, Location + outKMZ, "10000", "NO_COMPOSITE", ' ',"1024", "96") be aware that you will need to check if the kmz file exists before running the tool a second time....if the kmz file exists the script will fail.

Thanks! This worked out great. I created a new applet with a toolbar (not visible) and a button. I set the buttons shortcut to A1 and specified the buttons onclick event to call the script I had inside the applet. Press the A1 button on the mobile device while in ArcPad and the actions detailed in the script are run.
