ArcPad Extension for ArcGIS Server at Server 10.1

I cannot find any information in the 10.1 help about the ArcPad Extension for ArcGIS Server....can anybody direct me to some literature?
I would like to use this extension to check in field edits through synchronization. Will the ArcGIS Server ArcPad 10 Extension work on 10.1? I would like find out if it will work before going through the hassle of convincing my IT Department to install the extension on our ArcGIS Server. Thanks.

Hi Eric,

The ArcPad 10 Server Extension is only compatible with ArcGIS Server 10

You cannot use the ArcPad 10 Server Extension with ArcGIS Server 10.1

Thanks for the response Hannah...although not the response I was hoping for.
Is this a subtle hint that I should abandon ArcPad all together and begin migrating to ArcGIS for Mobile? Or will there be synchronization possibilities between ArcGIS for Server 10.1 (and beyond) and future releases of ArcPad??

ArcPad 10.1 will handle things differently than previous releases.  They are looking to align more with the other mobile products in using Feature Services to handle edits in the field.  I don't have dates of release, but you can look for updates here on the forums or at the ArcPad blog site here: http://arcpadteam.blogspot.com.

I have ArcPad 10.2.1 and couldn�??t figure out how the services published by the ArcGIS Server 10.2.2 can be added to the ArcPad. Please, have a look in the screenshots below.

Does the ArcPad accept adding services coming directly from the ArcGIS Server like:
