Good one for my learning Curtis Price. Russel Quan: Hi Russel, For a polygon, the feature stores the coordinates of the vertices that helps to define the structure of the polygon, thus calculating the area and perimeter (length), based on the projected coordinate system.

Hi Ditlev, If the spatial resolution is same for Raster1 and Raster2, you could use Raster Calculator. Con(IsNull("Raster1"),0, "Raster2")

Hi Jeffrey, Depending on the usability, you could use either or both the larger and smaller polygons maintaining scale dependency. Optimizing spatial index is also helpful, as suggested by larry zhang . The generalization tools are suggested if they do not change the shape of the features. Also if you are planning to label features, I would suggest the use of Annotation (also scale dependent) instead of dynamic labels.

Hi Ramya, Try defining a spatial reference to the feature class again from ArcCatalog. Try copy/paste again. If not resolve, then provide the following information: What is the source and target database (please mention version as well)? Which version of ArcSDE are you using? Any complex feature, like Topology/Network dataset used?

Hi Ditlev, Although I would not recommend conversion of TIFF file to any other format, but if you really need it, you could convert it to any lossless format (e.g. PNG). Keep in mind, PNG supports upto 3 bands of raster.

Adding to Sephe Fox, if you have a Production Mapping license, the installation setup of production mapping is separate from the ArcGIS for Desktop setup. You need to install that too. Although Cut Polygon features tool is the best bet now, as mentioned by Owen Earley.

You can try a few things 1) Restarting License Manager (In think you must have done that). Check if it is running. 2) Allow ports 27000-27009 through firewall in "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" in LM machine. 3) Also restart the client machines. 4) Try pinging the LM machine from the client machine's command prompt. It should work if the above conditions are TRUE.

Hi Mike, Check if you are able to connect to your database from ArcCatalog and view the contained data. Once successfully connected from ArcCatalog, copy the SDE file path. Delete the existing connections from Data Store and register database using the above SDE connection.

As Rebecca mentioned, you could just arrange a media of ArcGIS 10.2.2 for Desktop either from your organizational account in My Esri or contact your local Esri distributor. You just need to install Desktop 10.2.2. It will automatically detect the older version and upgrade it.

Hi Wan, If you are projecting your data in Kertau_RSO_Malaya_Meters (Datum: D_Kertau; Spheroid: Everest_1830_Modified) to WGS_1984_UTM_Zone_48N (Datum: D_WGS_1984; Spheroid: WGS_1984) , then there would be a shift because of the change in Datum. It is normal. If not an issue you could try reprojecting your data (in Kertau_RSO_Malaya_Meters) to Kertau_UTM_Zone_48N (also in same datum Datum: D_Kertau; Spheroid: Everest_1830_Modified)

In case of a ArcGIS for Desktop Basic license, you could work with Personal GDB. Publishing on ArcGIS online should not be an issue. *For editing File GDB and SDE database, one needs at-least ArcGIS Desktop Standard license. Let us know if you face any issue in future.
