Mattias, some of the text strings come from the Flex API so changing strings in the source code for the Flex Viewer will not be "enough". However, for version 2.2 we are planning to make localization a lot easier. Both for extending the API to additional languages as well as making easier to localize the Flex Viewer. I'm actually planning to present an initial Swedish version next month at the ESRI Nordic Developer Conference. http://www.esri-sgroup.se/templates/Event.aspx?id=3575

Is there any way to bring the map to my inital extent when I click on the "Full Extent" button? Yes, setting the fullextent to the same value as the initialextent should achieve that. <map
initialextent="-13046840 4036096 -13045400 4036867"
fullextent="-13046840 4036096 -13045400 4036867"

Should I make my three services (all three are dynamic and the same projection and extent) base maps or operational layers? Depends... If you want people to switch between them (but only one being ON at a time), then go for basemaps. Otherwise, go for operational layers. If you want one of your service to always be ON, then make that the basemap, and the other operational layers.

Not currently. As you pointed out the time-awareness is hooked up with the time of the Map, not any specific layers. However, for the next version of the TimeWidget, we're looking into making it easier to have it use a subset of timeaware mapservices, as well as configuring the widget itself.

The 'Extent Helper' helps you get the extents for bookmarks and also the Initial Extent. But how can you use this to change the Full Extents in the new Navigator Widget? The syntax is the same as for initial extent except the property name is fullextent, so for example: <map initialextent="1234000 7409000 1604000 7607000"
fullextent="-4743000 5022000 7115000 11343000"

Not out of the box in version 2.1. However, if you work with the source code it is possible since the Flex API now supports OpenStreetMap. If you implement this, keep in my mind that the licensing for OpenStreetMap require you to also show the credits appropriately. See http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Legal_FAQ

Did you forget the parentheses? The SQL function is UPPER(). <expression>PAR_OWN LIKE UPPER('%[value]%')</expression> Or if your server has mixed casing content: <expression>UPPER(PAR_OWN) LIKE UPPER('%[value]%')</expression>

Your example looks fine to me. Here are three possible things to check for: #1 If you're flexviewer is not accessed from the http://ngcaap-472ap-22/ then you 'll need a crossdomain.xml file at http://ngcaap-472ap-22/crossdomain.xml #2 The ArcIMS service need to contain FEATURECOORDSYS and FILTERCOORDSYS with id's or string's. This isn't always true, especially with really old ArcIMS'es. See http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/apiref/com/esri/ags/layers/ArcIMSMapServiceLayer.html #3 What's the SpatialReference of your basemap? Is it in a projection that your ArcIMS supports? This can happen with older ArcIMS'es.

Hi Fabiano, I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Flex API in general or the GeometryService in particular, so this might not be the answer you are looking for... In general, all of the GeometryService operations work the same, whether it's a projection, buffering, intersecting etc. Thus, any/all of the eight live samples listed under the See also on the API Reference for GeometryService might be helpful: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/apiref/com/esri/ags/tasks/GeometryService.html Try for example the Live Sample - using projectComplete with a GeometryService. The basic flow is to use the operation (for example intersect method) which will send the request to the server, once the response comes back, an event is thrown to indicate that the operation is complete (for example intersectComplete). If you would rather use a responder than the complete event, then you could do that instead. Hope this helps...

One workaround would be to have two operational layers: one dynamic (or tiled) layer would contain the map service with the labels, one feature layer with the popups.

Hi Stuart, I'm not sure why your widget is working with 9.3 but not 10. I am assuming you are working with a custom LocateWidget - did you create it or someoneone else? Either way, my guess would be that there is something in that custom code that doesn't work with your specific 10.0 service. Since single line geocoder didn't exist in ArcGIS Server 9.3, did you have a special Locate service that accepted one field input, or does your Locatewidget have use some kind of built-in logic to convert the user inputted single line into the multiple fields that most 9.3 locate services expected?

No settings that I know off. But ... do you have a custom LocateWidget for SFV, because the original sample doesn't seem to support single line geocoding: http://asademo.esri.com/flexviewer1_3/ Also, the 1.3 Flex API doesn't know about single line geocoding.
