I'm glad you were able to find a solution. It could be that the admin account is set up differently. Usually when I encounter something like this I look for a "clear search" or "clear all filters" button to make sure there aren't any leftover filters. It's interesting that you still saw a different number of total results than I did. Not sure why... but I will keep in mind the possibility that different users can see different results. Anyway, I hope you are enjoying the course and finding it useful.

Hi Douglas, I am one of the course authors. I'm not sure what is wrong. However, when I first go in to the Living Atlas tab, I see there are 8212 items, while you say there are over 3400. Before I click anything, the Environmnet category shows 1887 items available, and Earth observations shows 291 items. Is that what you see? I'm wondering if there is an unintended filter turned on or a keyword in the search box, which is limiting your results? Here are some other suggestions to try. After each one, see if anything shows up when you filter. 1. Make sure no stray filters are turned on. Click "clear" to clear the filters, and click the X to clear the search box. 2. Try clearing your browser cache and then reloading the page. 3. Try using a private or incognito browser window. 4. Try using a different browser. 5. Verify that your admin has not limited the ability for users to view outside content. (For example, do you get any results at all if you do a search of ArcGIS Online and toggle off "Only search in <your organization name>"?

The new Map Viewer Beta is released! Recall from the October T3G webinar, that you access Map Viewer Beta from the App launcher ("the waffle") in the top right corner of your ArcGIS Online page (except Map Viewer). Also, when you start a new map, a message will give you an opportunity to use the Map Viewer Beta. Here is the release blog post, Introducing the next generation of map making with Map Viewer Beta. You can try the quick-start tutorial, examine the product roadmap, and review the web map compatibility guide. If you aren't completely saturated, read the blogs just posted on the color ramps, dot density renderer, and pop-ups available in the new map viewer. You can provide or research feedback, comments, questions and more in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer Beta space on GeoNet. Have fun! I hope you will share some of your educator perspectives on Map Viewer Beta below, as well!

Meet the New ArcGIS StoryMaps, Thursday, August 29. Three one-hour sessions are available. Presented by story maps program founder Allen Carroll, and team member Greyson Harris. Students and teachers alike enjoy creating story maps. Now, ArcGIS StoryMaps, Esri's next-generation digital storytelling tool, makes it easier than ever to author a story. Everything you need to showcase and share your content is now in a single builder environment. Teachers and your students alike can focus more on telling a story that informs and inspires, and less on learning technology. In next week's free live training seminar, find out how easy it is to author a story that includes text, photos, videos, and more. Discover express maps—perfect when you want to feature a simple, polished map in your story without creating a web map first. See how to apply one of the new, professionally designed themes and quickly adjust the look and feel to support your content, audience, and purpose. As always, you can submit questions for the presenters to answer during the hour. How to Attend This Seminar You will need an Esri Account. If you don't have one, you can create one now. Log in up to 30 minutes before the seminar begins. Join us next week to pick up expert tips and tricks and sharpen your storytelling skills.

This discussion is for all the people who use the T3G Org. Lately I've been wondering, how well are the Organization's Home page's Carousel and the Gallery working for you? Currently, both the Carousel and the Gallery tab are pointing to the same group. Charlie Fitzpatrick has set it up with a dozen key "go-to" resource links right up front in the Carousel. The Gallery tab includes the same 12 items, plus a variety of items related to activities (mostly from previous T3G Institutes) that you might want to revisit or use in a workshop. Are these links useful to you? If you use the T3G Org in your workshops, do you rely on any of these? If you mainly visit the Org as a sandbox, do you even notice these links? If so, which activity items in the Gallery have you found useful (or not at all useful)? Are there things you use all the time that you would like to see here? The carousel and gallery can be set up to point to different groups. Does the current setup work for you, or would it be better to have the Gallery show only links to maps or other activity-related items? Perhaps I should leave well enough alone, and remember the old New England adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" On the other hand, if I don't ask, I'll never know . Thanks in advance for your feedback below!

Looks as if there is some interest. Would love to hear your ideas about details. What form would it take? Would there be one convener, or would the group pass the baton to a new convener each time, or perhaps each quarter? What are some initial ideas for topics or challenges that you would like to share or seek help with?

Even though T3G is not advertised on the Esri Training site, we manually post your course attendance and Certificate of Completion there along with any other Esri training courses that you have started or completed. Follow these steps to access your Certificate of Completion for T3G 2019 (or 2015-2018). Go to www.esri.com/training. In the upper right, Sign In. Sign in using an account that has in the profile, the same email address you gave us in your T3G registration form, because that is the email address that I provided to the certificate-makers. For example, it might be a free public ArcGIS Online account, or your school ArcGIS Online organizational account, if it is Esri enabled. (Recall that your T3G organizational account is NOT Esri enabled, so you can't use those credentials to sign in to esri.com/training or community.esri.com, a.k.a. GeoNet.) In the upper right, black bar, choose My Academy, then go to My Learning Activity. T3G 2019 should be near the top of the list of courses, if the list is sorted by Recently Added. You should see a View Certificate button. Click View Certificate to open a PDF of your certificate. You can download or print the PDF if you would like. What to do if T3G 2019 is not listed in My Learning Activity If you have more than one Esri enabled account that has your same email in the profile, then check the other account(s) for the certificate. Hopefully it would be in one that you have used for other Esri training. If you do not find the certificate in any of your accounts, proceed to Step 4 below. If you found your certificate in an account other than the one you use as your primary training history location, and you want us to move the T3G 2019 record to anther account, proceed to Step 4 below. To get help if you can't find your certificate or if you need to move your T3G record to a different account, Click Help tab in the upper right corner of the black bar. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to the Have a Question? form. Complete the form and explain the situation in the message section. One of my colleagues will assist you. NOTE. In the Subject list, choose Training History and Certificates (not Technical Certification). In the message, include the official course title, Teachers Teaching Teachers GIS. For T3G 2019, include the event ID, 50151048. For previous years, include the year. Laura PS. This blog was originally posted in the T3G Online Institute group for T3G 2019 attendees. I've re-posted it here for longer-term reference.

Absolutely agree that the ability to tag members (from an admin interface) would be hugely helpful. It is possible to assign member tags through the partner app, GeoJobe Admin tools (free version). However, that doesn't help much, because the next issue is that the search field in the organization's Members page doesn't recognize a "tags:" search. So even though I have created ways to "custom filter" my members, the tags are essentially useless. Would it be possible to add the ability to search members by tag?

It would be nice if a search on "Idenitify features" or "Identifying features" in the Pro Help would come up with something explaining this. The intuitive thing for me was in fact to try clicking a feature with the Explore tool, but I did not get a popup. Instead, the map panned. After I read this, then I would (intermittently) get a popup. Go figure.

I have taken three Esri certifications, including the ArcGIS Desktop Entry exam. For me, a combination of three resources has been my staple for preparation. These are: The Exam Guide document, especially the Qualifications and Skills Measured lists. The online help for the software covered, using the above lists as a guide for what to review. Opening up the software itself to check the interface and workflows as needed. If I need more info on a given topic, then I usually look for targeted e-learning on Esri Training or Learn ArcGIS. Experiences, like the activities you offer students in your certificate courses, are important for context and skills needed to understand when and why to perform workflows. In addition, studying the above resources has helped me have critical details fresh in my mind for the exam. I'd love to hear from others about their approaches to exam prep, too.
