The Story Map Shortlist doesn't support that. If you want to open the same Shortlist at different extents via links you could duplicate the web map and basically deploy additional versions of your Shortlist at different extents. We would like to enhance the Shortlist to support what you are describing though, so people could make a link that opens the Shortlist at a) a specific extent and b) with a specific tab uppermost

Also you have folders in your My Content. Make sure it isn't in one of those. Do you see if if you search in ArcGIS Online instead of looking in My Contents? That is another way to find something if you don't see it in My Contents.

A couple more things: 1. The yellow marker symbols you use for your RV parks and Campgrounds tab don't look good. How about just using one of the other colors for those. 2. We already have your Ocala Horse Farm Tour in the Story Maps gallery but it doesn't show up if people search our gallery (or ArcGIS Online) for 'Florida' or 'Ocala'. So in the entry for the that map tour: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=84c63c6a9c0c43bc97fb03f4ff673b2b could you add terms like Florida and Ocala to the Tags. And could you also update the title on that entry to make it 'Ocala/Marion County Horse Farms. 3. Let us know if Ocala Marion VCB (@ocalamarion) | Twitter tweets links to your story maps. We'd be happy to retweet their tweets.

Thanks Amanda. I see the entry you added: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=c67216ab93bd4f5e96cd3d4de5240397 Could you upload a thumbnail image that is exactly 200x133 pixels? Our gallery uses the thumbnail in your item and it will look best if it is 200x133 (the standard ArcGIS Online thumbnail size). Also in your Tags field, could you add the tags 'Shortlist' and 'Story map'. This will help people find your story map if they search ArcGIS Online,.

Very nice work! Wed like to add this into the Story Maps gallery: http://storymaps.arcgis.com/gallery If that's OK, could you add a 'web mapping application' entry into ArcGIS Online to represent it, like this one: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=de8bf939ff2c449b9e6283a6a43a55d3 The Story Maps gallery points directly at these 'web mapping application' entries and displays the thumbnail that they contain. These entries are created automatically for you if you use a hosted app, but if you download an app and host it yourself, like in the case of your Shortlist, you have to add them manually. Adding this entry into ArcGIS Online also enables other ArcGIS Online users to find your story map. To add one of these entries manually, go to My Content in ArcGIS Online and choose 'Add Item.

You've made a story map. But what's the best way to get it in front of your audience? You can embed story maps in the pages in your website, or add links to them. To help give you some ideas, we've enhanced the Esri Story Maps gallery to add some good examples showing some of the ways that story maps have been embedded in web pages or included in web pages via links or galleries. Have a look at these examples to get some ideas of how to present your story maps to your audience by integrating them into your web pages, website, articles, or blog posts. In the Esri Story Maps gallery look for the Format option in the list of filters on the left and choose 'Embedded/Linked'. Or just click this link to open the gallery with that filter already applied.

Hi Brian You can create your own story map either using the same web map as the one you are looking at, or using a copy of the web map with your own changes in it. So the workflow is find out which web map is used in a story map, then save a copy of that web map, make changes to it, and then deploy a story map using your copy of the web map. For example in the Austin Shortlist you mention above, if you right-click the map and choose View Source Code (this command name will depend on your web browser because that right-click menu is browser dependent), and then scroll down to the Config section of the file that appears: /****************************************************** ******************** config section ****************** *******************************************************/ var WEBMAP_ID = "91244e9bd6ee422388e90e1474d5ef49"; var BOOKMARKS_ALIAS = "Zoom"; var COLOR_ORDER = "green, red, blue, purple"; // will only use as many colors as you have tabs var DETAILS_PANEL = false; // specifies whether or not popups have a link to a separate Details panel you can see the ID of the web map that it uses: 91244e9bd6ee422388e90e1474d5ef49 so you can then open that web map in ArcGIS Online: http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=91244e9bd6ee422388e90e1474d5ef49 then if you save a copy of the web map you can go ahead and make modifications to it, like editing or deleting layers or features, and adding in your own layers, For example you may want to add your own placesor delete some of the existing ones. You can do this editing in ArcGIS Online. But if you wanted to you could also open the web map inside ArcGIS Desktop and do more advanced edits to the data. For example you could open the web map in ArcMap, save each of the layers as a shapefile, make edits to those shapefiles, and then upload your new shapefiles as .zip files into your web map, which is a standard way of getting new layers into a web map and was how the original Austin Shortlist web map was created. Then you can share your web map and deploy it in your own story map. In the case of the Story Map Shortlist app, you should visit our website and download the app which includes a README that details the format that this app expects for new layers, etc: Shortlist App | Story Maps

There are a range of story map application templates, so you'll have to let us know which one you want to make. You can build a Map Tour, Map Journal or Swipe/Spyglass story map directly from the Apps list on the Story Maps website: App List | Story Maps . On that page, click the 'Build' link next to the story map app you want to use. That page lists all of the story map application templates and also has step-by-step instructions for each of them. To create a story map from inside ArcGIS Online, make sure you are logged in with any account type (you can't make a story map unless you are logged in), open the web map you want to use so you are looking at the map in the ArcGIS.com map viewer, then press the Share button and then in the dialog that appears choose the 'Share As Application' button. Then in the gallery of application templates that appears, click Publish next to the application template you want to use.

Hi Angie The problem is that your web map is using a feature service for the layer that defines the tab: that currently isn't supported by the Shortlist. It supports CSV and shapefile layers for the point layers that define the tabs, but not feature services.

Hi Amanda. I'm already a big fan of your excellent horse farm tour: http://marioncountyfl.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapTour/?appid=6f745d868e2843058fb5f10fcbdfc18f I don't think you should try and put 194 points in 11 different colors into a Story Map Tour!!!! It's not designed for that really and I don't see that being a great user experience. Apart from being very cluttered, it won't really make it easy for people to find things they are interested in. Someone who is interested in moto cross might not want to see golf, for example. If you have to include all the places in different categories, try the Shortlist template: it is designed specifically for that purpose: Here are some tourism related examples: http://storymaps.arcgis.com/en/gallery/#s=0&n=30&d=1&q=guide Or, if you want to use the map tour (it has nice big pictures unlike the Shortlist) how about making separate map tours for different sorts of visitors, so people would choose the tour that interests them...golf...outdoors, etc, You've already done that with Horse Farms. Then you could make a really nice web page that lists all of your tours. That way a visitor can open a tour that is just about what they'd be interested in without having to wade through loads of places. And they can easily share the golf tour with their other golf loving friends, etc, etc.
