Hi Mark Sorry about the issue. We had a look and we recommend updating your Shortlist to the latest version. Your Shortlist: http://apps.douglas.co.us/parkos/ uses version 1.4.2 and when we download that version and open your web map using it. we get the same issue. Using a test instance of our latest version (1.4.8) it loads OK in small display (although there is a delay due probably to the number of tabs): http://storymaps.esri.com/templates/shortlist/?webmap=ea801d311dde4e8e97e426fec9d92f4d&DETAILS_PANEL=true Rupert

The Story Map Tour app template doesn't support popups. It's something we might add in future but we wanted to keep the user experience of the Map Tour really simple and streamlined. There's an entry in Esri Ideas site for popups in map tours if you'd like to vote up that enhancement: ArcGIS Idea - popup in Map Tour If you want to give people a tour-like experience but with full support for popups, you could use the Story Map Journal. Using Story Map Journal gives you a lot more flexibility than Story Map Tour: you can zoom in on the map as people go through your tour, switch to a different maps, use clickable main stage actions in the section text to open up popups on your map or change extent, etc, etc. For example, check out this example: http://storymaps.esri.com/stories/2014/brazil-beyond-the-stadiums/ Rupert

Hi Aghavni See the email I sent you. I included a screenshot of dialog in the Story Map Journal builder > Settings dialog that lets you change the logo shown in the header. Your story map is really nice and you should put your organization's logo into the header so you get the credit instead of Esri! http://www.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=5d418bc7fcae46e593a3df875e86ada5 Rupert

1. In the Story Map Tour, you can use HTML tags in the subtitle to add symbols or colors to guide your readers. You could also create an intro image that includes symbols too. This map tour from City of Vista, CA uses both techniques: City of Vista Development Projects Map For some more examples see these: http://storymaps.arcgis.com/en/gallery/#s=0&q=legend&md=storymaps-apps:map-tour 2. Yes, you can edit story maps at any time before or after sharing them 3. Yes you can add historic maps as a basemap. Do a search in ArcGIS for historic map layers or have a look at these great historical maps from the David Rumsey collection: http://www.arcgis.com/home/group.html?id=b9643018e54c494dbc2fa33e319d6e5e

To paste in your HTML in the test I did, I edited the caption of a tour point I had already added to the tour. So I didn't enter the HTML in the Add new tour point dialog. Rupert

Hi Patrick. I'm not sure what accounts for that difference. May just be the system catching up. For example the item page gives you a more recent view count than the ArcGIS Online search results listing. Plus when you look at an ArcGIS Online item page to see the number of views, that actually adds a view to the count (so it is a bit like the Observer Effect in Physics). Note that the ArcGIS Online item page, also has a usage button that gives you a usage chart (if you are the owner) (not present if you are using ArcGIS Public Account). Rupert

Hi Kevin I've been able to create and save a Story Map Tour including the HTML you pasted above in both the Name field and the Description field., and the link works fine and opens your Dropbox file in a new tab in the browser. I'm assuming that page opens up OK for you in your browser if you just paste it into the address bars and there's not some restriction on Dropbox on your system. Rupert

In a Map Journal you could have one section per point but it would be better to combine points thematically to avoid having a really long Map Journal. For example you could have one section in a Map Journal that talks about green initiatives, and put all those places on that map as clickable points. I avoided mentioning your actual issue in my first response because I've not seen that behaviour before

Have you considered using Story Map Journal for this story? Like Ruth mentions you have quite a lot of tour points that don't represent actual places and this can be a bit hard to understand. In our gallery there are some examples of Story Map Journals being used for these sort of stories to good effect because it is more suited to stories that have non-spatial components. For example you can have some sections in your Story Map Journal that show a map and some that show an image, such as a general image about an initiative. Rupert

Hi Adam. 1) I'm not sure about the coding but in the Story Maps gallery there are some Shortlists with customizations applied: http://storymaps.arcgis.com/en/gallery/#s=30&md=storymaps-format:customized_storymaps-apps:shortlist and I saw these examples with multiple logos: http://www.dfwcranereport.com/ http://www.restoration.noaa.gov/dwh/storymap/ http://maps.mgpinc.com/Roselle/AvailableCommercialProperties/index.html 2) Yes the Shortlist overrides all popup configured in the web map and imposes its own logic and popup schema. Any supporting feature layers (i.e. layers that don't define the content in the tabs) in your web map can have popups in your Shortlist as long as they have fields matching the Shortlist schema and you specify the names of the layers that you want to be clickable in the SUPPORTING_LAYERS_THAT_ARE_CLICKABLE parameter in the index.html. For example, you could add the point layers for the other years as additional point layers and define popups for them (so these would be displayed independently of the numbered points represented by the tabs. If you do add supporting layers to your web map that are points, there's a parameter POINT_LAYERS_NOT_TO_BE_SHOWN_AS_TABS in the Index.html where you name those supporting point layers so that the Shortlist doesn't treat them as tabs. (Note: we are going to simplify how this works in the new version of the Shortlist: we'll be providing full support for popups configured in the web map for your supporting layers, so the Shortlist will display the ArcGIS Online web map popups as-is for any layers that have them which don't define tabs). 3) I'm not sure about the specificcoding but here's an example of a Shortlist with a basemap control: http://maps.rockvillemd.gov/Historic_Buildings_Tour_Map/ Rupert

Yes, story maps are web apps. Just like any other dataset, map, or app in the ArcGIS platform, once you share it publicly it can be accessed by anyone. So you can email the link, post the link on social media, add the link to a blog post or web page, etc.

Hi Travis. that link you posted is a Story Map Series app not a Story Map Shortlist app. I found your publicly shared web map in ArcGIS Onlline: http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=13dd36f4661e4d388833f57f102a56a0 And it draws OK in our test Story Map Shortlist instance: http://storymaps.esri.com/templates/shortlist/?webmap=13dd36f4661e4d388833f57f102a56a0&DETAILS_PANEL=true Have you put the Shortlist code onto a web server or folder in a public website or hosting service? It should work if you put the ID of the web map into the Index.html file. I suspect you are perhaps putting the ID of that Story Map Series story map app into the Index.html file, not the ID of a web map. Rupert
