Sorry about the issue Curtis. I'm going to try and reproduce your workflow this morning to see what happened. Assuming your original web map with your starting source data is publicly sharable data, could you post a link to that map so I can start from the same set of data. Rupert

Thanks Kelly. In the PIC_URL field in your Shortlist layer, the URLs to your images are in a format that can't be read correctly: The Shortlist app isn't able to handle this URL because it has a blank space https://bloomphotos.s3.amazonaws.com/September (68).JPG If I try and use your web map in our 1.4x test instance, it doesn't work: http://storymaps.esri.com/templates/shortlist/?webmap=fb64fb7cf0b742b59e5cdcded4968f01&DETAILS_PANEL=true See if it works OK if you replace the space with %20: https://bloomphotos.s3.amazonaws.com/September%20(68).JPG

Hi, if the web map is publicly shared can you share the URL of the web map here so that we can have a look. Not really understanding your issue based on what you posted. Thanks Rupert

Hi Justin The places in a data-driven Shortlist tab are ordered based on the record order in which they appear in the layer's attribute table. You can also optionally add a numeric field called NUMBER that contains the order you want to apply to the places. When the Shortlist reads your data and finds a field called NUMBER, it will use it instead of the table record order. This enables you to control the number for each place via a field and override the record order. Rules for the NUMBER field: If you are using separate layers for each of your Shortlist tabs, the NUMBER field values will be unique in each layer. If you are using a single layer (our recommended workflow) to define all your Shortlist tabs (i.e. using the TAB_NAME field to specify which tab each place is in), the NUMBER field values will be unique for the places of each TAB_NAME value. So if your single layer defines three tabs, there will be three records with a NUMBER field value of 1, one for each tab. The order in which the tabs will be shown in the Shortlist is based on the actual record order of the TAB_NAME field, not the order defined by the NUMBER field. This applies to Shortlist 1.x and also the updated Shortlist 2.0 we are about to release when you create a Shortlist using existing point data. But the new version's interactive builder makes place management much easier, so with the version you don't need to manage your ordering using fields at all and can drag and drop.

Hi Cameron, This would definitely be useful and we have this listed as an enhancement for the app. It is possible to add something like that via customization of the app code but I've not been able to find a really great example of this for you to look at. Here are two examples I found. In the second one it is a one-time search and doesn't return multiple results. http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=d4edd52051cc4ea8ab7bbc763b5cb4aa http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=6fdb34c54f7b4be4a614ae882346c684 Rupert

Thanks Tom That isn't supported currently but it is a good idea. It could be exposed in the UI via an enhanced sharing link that would let you choose to share the current tab. I'll make sure this is in our backlog if not already there. Another sharing option we have been discussing is ability to share a specific place in a Shortlist. That would let someone else open the Shortlist to see that place and the current tab and perhaps map extent could also be reflected in that URL. Rupert

Hi Dennis. It's a limitation of the Story Map Tour Builder and we have that on our enhancement list. The workaround is to start by making a web map in ArcGIS and uploading your address-based CSV into that map, then share that web map and publish it as a Story Map Tour. The Story Map Tour builder will load in that web map and recognize the point layer it contains. You can also do the same workflow with a shapefile or feature service in the web map.

Hi Innisfree I'm not sure specifically what happened in this case. Tim's comment above is one to check: perhaps you chose to use the authoring option that contributions have to be approved by you before they appear on your map. Another thing to check is whether the contribution was located outside the default extent of your map: As the Crowdsource panel only shows contributions in the area you are currently looking at on the map, it can be quite easy to overlook a contribution that falls outside that extent, either when you are viewing your app or reviewing/vetting the contributions. Perhaps your contributor choose a place, either intentionally or unintentionally, that outside your default extent. So try zooming out on the map and you might see it appear. Here's the URL to your app: https://uwstout.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StoryMapCrowdsource/index.html?appid=061c8dc9ffae4acead7764de3e586365 (the URL you posted above is to the Builder session (has &Edit at the end) and so can't be launched

HI Celeste You configure popups for features on your map when you author or edit the map. When you edit the map in ArcGIS, look for the Configure Popup command in the menu for the layer in your map that you want to configure popups for. So configuring popups isn't part of the Story Map Journal builder. It is something you do in the web map(s) that you use in your Story Map Journal. Rupert

Hi Andrew, they are there: click the Share button in the UR corner. In that dialog that appears you'll see Twitter and Facebook buttons. In Story Map Cascade we put them into a single dialog along with the short link and embed code. Nice Cascade by the way! Just saw your tweet with the link: https://aiz.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=a6b7a19368be49eca1ccfdb1964e0add Rupert

Hi Laura The Story Map apps don't support exposing a layer list/table of contents for web maps. In story maps the model is more that the author chooses the map content and then presents it to the reader as part of their narrative. The exception to this which is in the Story Map Journal where you can create 'main stage actions' - clickable links in the narrative text next to a map that can change the map when clicked on, including turning specific layers on or off. The Vital Signs app you posted is cool: it's a customization of the Story Map Series app embedded into a web page. For that sort of customization, you would download the source code for the app, work with a dev to make changes and then self-host it. Another way to get the effect you want: create apps with the Web App Builder in ArcGIS Online that include the layer list widget, and them embed those apps in your Story Map Series instead of using web maps directly. It won't look like the Vital Signs app, but it will enable your readers to choose the layers in the map. Rupert

Hi. We'll be adding that capability to the Story Map Crowdsource app in an upcoming release. It is definitely something we want to add to make it easier for people to add contributions at specific locations. We also want to use the same mechanism to allow people to edit their contribution's location (for example if they specify the location by first typing it in and then want to move it to a specific location.
