Sounds good. A couple of other things I noticed: - On this page Where to go, what to do | WA - DNR , the embed code seems to be using a fixed width size frame, such that the Story Map doesn't resize in a responsive way if the page is displayed in a less wide window or mobile device. Using a relative width rather than fixed width works better. For example see: City of Scottsdale - City Construction Projects - The Zoom menu in your Shortlist wraps onto a second line because the menu name is quite long. How about just making that name be 'Zoom' or similar to shortened it. Rupert

Hi Elizabeth Looks good. Sorry about that issue with the title. I'm not sure why it is doing that still for you. Perhaps you could spell out DNR in the subtitle instead? But up to you. When you mentioned that you tried to email this, I'm not sure what email address you used. Rupert

That seems to be working OK for me: it takes me to the third section of the Map Journal. Do let me know if that isn't working for you. There are some known issues with jumping to sections towards the end of Map Journals, especially ones where the sections are very short, but I don't think that applies to your Journal. Rupert

Hi Amanda Sorry about the issue. Would it be possible for you to share the URL of one of your Shortlists? If it isn't available publicly you could email me directly (ressinger at esri.com). Are you creating your Shortlists from existing web maps/data using the 'import' workflow or the 'as-is' workflow, or are you authoring them directly in the Shortlist Builder. If you are using the 'as-is' workflow, there are some issues with using ArcGIS Enterprise/Server feature services in that workflow, such that we don't recommend using those for 'as-is'. I think that might have been the cause of the original issue that was reported above. Rupert

I would try and avoid a deployment pattern where you have to deliver such a large number of Story Maps. It can be done (there are 58 story maps on this page: Regional Transportation Alliance of Southwestern Pennsylvania — Home ) but we don't have easy ways to replicate or automate the generation of that many story maps out of the box, especially if you are looking to update the text in each of those stories every week. I think you'd need to work with a developer to try and set that up or Esri professional services.

On the Story Maps team we are sort of big fans of static images of tables, charts, etc because they let authors get exactly the look they want. You can find some nice examples of how people are presenting this sort of data in the Story Maps Gallery for the Cascade app, but you may have already browsed that. In a Cascade you can also 'animate' your static tables and charts by using immersive sections to display a sequence of static graphics, You can also make really long charts and tables that readers can scroll through (for example, see: Living in the Age of Humans Story Maps don't support dynamic tables and charts that for example, reflect queries and selections on a map, because the idea with story maps is that you can tell the story without too much user interaction, except for them to advance through or pick places or tabs they want to view. It is possible to embed third-party web content into Story Maps so, for example, if you can create an interactive chart on the web, you may be able to embed it into a story map (if that web content allows itself to be embedded, not all does). Or you could use a different ArcGIS app and then embed it into a Story Map, or link to it from your Story Map for readers who want to delve deeper. However in general I would personally try and keep things simple and refine a story so you don't need those extra elements. Rupert

Story Maps, like other apps in ArcGIS Online, are web apps, so they are accessed and stored on the web, i.e. in the cloud. (If you are using ArcGIS Enterprise to create Story Maps or any other web apps, they are stored in a private cloud inside your Enterprise). Either way. you can sign-in and access your Story Maps from any computer, same as you would with gmail or other cloud systems. There's no need to save specific app instances locally to your computer (and in fact there's not a way to do that.) The data that you add into maps shown in these apps is also stored in the cloud, or managed as part of your organization's Enterprise GIS. There may be some content you add to maps that you want to make backups of. For example I have some Excel spreadsheets that contain point data like places of interest that I upload into the web maps I use in some of my Story Maps. Even though I've uploaded those files into web maps, where they appear as point features, I backup those Excel files locally like my other important files because I put a lot of work into them. Somewhat related to this question, there's not a way to save a web map or app (such as a Story Map) to disk so it can be viewed offline. The closest we have to that is the ability to print a Story Map Cascade or Story Map Journal to a PDF file. PS. In ArcGIS Online and on the Story Maps website, you'll see an option to download an app. This is referring to the ability to download the source code for an app template so you can host that app on your own web server (for example if you wanted to tweak or change the source code for any reason). This option doesn't download a specific story map instance that you have authored to disk. When people download and self-host the source code for an app template, that template still points at an app instance, and web map(s), in the cloud: it just displays that cloud content via their version of the source code, not the one that is in the cloud. Hope that helps. Rupert

Not implemented at this point and not sure if we will get to it in the near future. See this existing ArcGIS Idea for it: https://community.esri.com/ideas/13132 too/ Rupert

HI It sounds like you are trying to embed the ArcGIS Map Viewer into the story map. To add a web map into a Map Series or Map Journal, choose the Map option then select the map: See also: Esri Story Map Series Tutorial

Hi Julia Story Map Journal, Series, and Cascade let you add one or more web maps into your story. So if you add your hosted feature layer onto a web map, you'll be able to add that web map into your story. You can also add web maps that other people have authored. You can embed another story, like a Story Map Journal or Story Map Tour, into a tab in a Story Map Series. Some authors tend to over-use this ability though: it can be a bit disorienting for readers to encounter several different storytelling styles inside the same story, and may not work all that well on a mobile device or in a small display. See this question: Esri Story Maps - FAQ Rupert

Hi Anselme. I think the best thing to do is to recreate these from the beginning again. We think an edit you made to the underlying data in the web map may have caused the issue where the tours won't load. For example if we look in the web map that your tour above uses, there are two places that don't have any data. Rupert

It does support audio clip HTML like Map Tour, but definitely try it out with your audio sources before committing to a project.

Thanks. Sorry about the issue. Is this a Map Tour that used to open correctly until recently? Also wanted to check if you've tried to make edits to the tour by editing the web map or feature service that it uses directly (rather than from inside the Story Map Tour Builder). Rupert

Hi Dambé, Sorry about the issue, Would it be possible for you to share one of your tours publicly so we can try it out. Could you let us know what operating system your computer is using. Does this also happen if you view the story on a different computer? Rupert

That's correct. The options you get to tailor how an existing web map is displayed inside a Cascade story are limited to things that don't make changes to the web map. So you can choose the extent that is displayed, turn layers on and off, and also choose to display the popup for a particular feature. These can be applied to any web map, not just maps that you own. This is a nice feature of Story Maps because you can use maps created by your colleagues, or anyone in the ArcGIS community, not just maps that you author. This applies to all the Story Map apps except for Map Tour and Shortlist, which in most (but not all) authoring workflows expect you to own the web map in which the places you display are stored. To get that additional look for your map, you could do a Save As like you describe. But you could also just have two layers in your map showing the same data with different symbology, and then turn one of those layers off when you add it into the respective view in your Cascade. Keeping everything in one map can be easier to manage, ensure that everything is consistent and can also improve drawing performance, because the Cascade app just needs to load one map. But this may depend on how else you may be using the map: You may want to use that map in another app in which you wouldn't want to two different layers for the same data to appear. But in general, we'd recommend sticking with one web map if you can. Rupert
