What sort of info or look are you trying to convey? I'm not sure about the coding but some authors are including additional text and graphics in the image they use in their cover page. However this doesn't always work at small display widths and sizes. Here's an example that works nicely because it is centered at the bottom of the image, and so doesn't get cropped and doesn't conflict with the title and subtitle of the Cascade: see the logo and agency name at the bottom of the cover page in this Cascade by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service http://nrcs.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=4cedd69fafe646a3b94697072ec6fdd7 Rupert

Hi Bradley Interesting question. We have shared this in our team too to see if we have any info or reports on this. Story Map authors on Geonet > Feel free to jump in if you have any evidence, analytic or anecdotal, about maps and in particular story maps, increasing engagement, outreach or effectiveness for your application or project. We think they do, but can we prove it? Rupert

You can also search all the Story Maps that have been created with ArcGIS Online and shared publicly by doing a search like "Coffee Story Map" in ArcGIS.com and filtering the search results on Item Type > Apps, so that you only get apps like Story Maps in the results. Here's a link that launches that query: https://www.arcgis.com/home/search.html?q=coffee%20story%20map&start=1&sortOrder=desc&sortField=relevance&focus=applicat… Rupert

Another approach would be to use Story Map Series instead, with a tab for each map (each tab can show the same map with different layers turned on or off, or a different map). This is more flexible than Shortlist for displaying project locations, and it is easy to create an All tab. For example see: http://poway.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=83e385ee1d874990891bbb8b60d12583 See also: https://chesterfieldva.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=2645af4399b6457695ce7b1af203ee84 Rupert

Hi Eric, that's not supported. You would have to duplicate the record so that there are two records, one for each of the tabs you want the place to appear under. This gets requested in terms of having an All tab in a Shortlist. But there may be cases where you want a place to appear in two (or more tabs): that's unusual for Shortlists and not supported in the design. Note that if you want some points or other features to appear on the map in all tabs but not as places in the tabs, you could add those into the web map used in your Shortlist as supporting layers. Hi Amanda, 1. There's not a limit to the number of tabs but most Shortlists have no more than 6. 2. You can't create groups or subtabs inside tabs. 3. There's no limit to the number of places in a tab or across the whole Shortlist but more than 100 places in a tab is unusual. Rupert

To create a Shortlist with the ''As-Is" workflow so your Shortlist automatically reflects the data in a layer in a web map, you'd make a layer of point data that matches the Shortlist data schema (see FAQ about this), either a new dataset, or by adding fields to an existing dataset. To include an "All" tab in your Shortlist you would have to duplicate all the records in your layer and set the TAB_NAME field to "All" for all the duplicated places. So it isn't ideal because you'd have two records in your layer for each place instead of one. But the aim of the "As-Is" options is to let you incorporate GIS and database-driven workflows. So you may be able to automate this via scripting in Desktop so that your set of places gets copied to a new feature class, massaged to create the layer you'll be using in the web map, and then published. So from your GIS layer of CIPs in which updates are made, you could automatically generate another layer which assembles the data that will drive your Shortlist, including the duplication needed to get the desired "All" tab. In this way, the duplication wouldn't be seen in the original layer in which you do the actual data maintenance. Rupert

Hi Scott, it uses the record order of the layer that contains the locations. So for example if creating tour points in Excel for CSV export you can organize the rows in the order you want them to appear. If are using a feature layer it may be useful to add a field into your table with the tour point order, and then sort the records on that field to get them in the order you want. For example if your points are starting off life in Desktop, you could add a Short integer field into the layer to store the order you want to use, and then use the geoprocessing Sort tool to sort the records. To share a story map into a group, it is best to go to My Content in ArcGIS Online, click the check box next to your story map and then click the Share button. The dialog that appears will list the groups you have permission to share the story into. Help topic on that. Don't launch the Story Map Cascade Builder: that lets you configure/edit your story map, and lets you share it either to your organization or everyone, but in the Builder you can't share the story map to a group. You also can't share a story map to a group via My Stories. Rupert

Hi Kurtis, Thanks for posting. Could you let us know what your workflow is where you are encountering this, and perhaps include a screenshot of what you are seeing. If your Map Tour is shared publicly, you could also paste the URL but no need to. Rupert

Hi Scott. OK. I can provide the raw code on but only on an as-is basis: it is unsupported and we don't maintain it. It has not been tested on the latest browsers or web security environments so we don't recommend it for high-profile production use. Please contact me via email (see address in my Geonet profile) if still interested. Rupert

Hi Sharla A Cascade story map is a web app. So to make a Story Map Cascade you can go to the page about the app and click the Build button: Story Map Cascade | Story Maps In a Cascade you can include existing ArcGIS web maps that you or others have authored. Once you've created and shared your story publicly, you can promote it ito your audience in the same way you'd promote any other web resource. For example you can add a link to your story into the appropriate web page on your organization's website, link to it from a blog post, tweet it, add it to an email newsletter, etc. Hope that helps? Here are a couple more examples of Map Journals I found in the Map Journal Gallery that may give people some ideas for ways to present tour-type content that doesn't fit well into the Story Map Tour app: > City of LA Major Projects > City of Moreno Valley, CA Economic Development > City of Kingston, Ontario, Industrial Lands Rupert

Hi Scott Thanks for asking about those two prototype tour layouts again ("Bees" and "Species on the Brink") and thanks for your patience. There's also a third new prototype layout you may have seen, which we used for this tour of a Frank Lloyd Wright house: A tour of the Pope-Leighey House The aim of all these new tour designs is to show larger photos and provide better caption handling, without overlapping the photos. These layouts aren't available for use yet. We are working on a new app that would at first incorporate one of these layouts, along with improvements and modifications, such as multiple pics per place, and eventually provide additional layout options. We don't have a release date for that app yet. We also want to overhaul and revamp the Tour building experience, and improve our mobile look and feel. In the meantime, if you have a tour project where you have a lot of descriptive text one option to look at is using our Story Map Shortlist app (for example see Boston Parks and Rec Design and Construction Projects. And if you also want to have multiple pictures per place, you could look at making a Story Map Journal with one section per place (for example, see Wellington's Treasured Spaces or Game of Thrones Locations in Northern Ireland). Using Map Journal in particular gives you lots of creative options because you can have unlimited text and pics per section, use different maps or layers in different sections, use Story Actions to highlight places on each map (like in Wellington's Treasured Spaces). etc. Rupert
