This works for data in a File gdb and not for data in an sde geodatabase (in that case you could use some DBMS-specific queries to determine it though).

There is no hard-coded limit on the number of versions. 2500 versions should be fine if maintained properly. How many records exist in the State_lineages and States tables?

What I am suggesting is actually a workaround. You can try this if you want. Create a new Personal geodatabase. Copy the entire 'Transportation' dataset to this new geodatabase. Check that all the data came through and you are able to delete this feature class in the new geodatabase. Then you can delete the problematic dataset in the original geodatabase and copy the good one back into the original. Try to delete the feature class now.

SQL Server 2014 is not a supported DBMS version for 10.2.x: System Requirements Starting form 10.1, installation of ArcSDE is only required when you plan to use ArcSDE Command line tools or the Application Server Connection. So I don't think you need to install it for this. I need to confirm something, as I am a bit confused. Mathew Suran: Are you discussing about "Registering as Versioned" your data in sde geodatabse? Creating new Versions in the sde geodatabase? SQL Server Versioning concept?

If you create a copy of that dataset in the same gdb, does it still behave the same? ** Teat anything only after confirming that a proper database backup exists.

"Add Database Server" uses Windows Authentication automatically. Is it possible to work with ESRI Tech-Support on this? It seems that you have already covered the basic troubleshooting required, so maybe if they can take a look at your configuration, it may help.

Move this thread to these groups ArcGIS Runtime SDK for iOS Developers Maybe someone from these groups will be able to help you with the issue that you are observing or give you a better insight. I would also suggest you to describe your observations with as much details possible here, so that in case its a known issue someone can help you here.

You could be hitting a known bug which was very recently logged. Can you please confirm which XML file you are observing this issue with? -------------- BUG-000080891- Gas Data Model XML workspace returns the error, "XML Import Error: XML error on line 1, position 2431. Whitespace is not allowed at this location” when trying to import into a file geodatabase after a new spatial reference is assigned using the X-Ray for Geodatabases tool. The workaround as you have already observed is: Manually assign the spatial reference. Do not apply a new spatial reference before importing. ------------

The 'Alter Field' tool is visible\available for use, at only the Advanced license level at 10.2 and 10.2.1, due to the Bug as mentioned by Jake earlier in this thread. At 10.2.2, this has been fixed and the tool is available at all licensing levels (Basic, Standard and Advanced).

If the Windows Firewall is Turned-On on the database server, turn it off and then give it a try. Try connecting with "Add database Connection" option and check what happens. Are you able to create OLEDB connections?
