Ah, so it wasn't your label expression crashing, it was ArcMap crashing. Glad you got it worked out.

It does add tabs, you have to remember though if you have a small font, that a single tab won't make much of a space between characters in your string(or an indent at the beginning). If you need more spacing, use multiple tabs.

Why are you using a for loop? SWSID is a single field, there is nothing to loop through, for each feature it will return the value in that field. have you tried making you label = "<und>[SWSID]</und> <und>[Stn_Name]</und>\n" + "T_avg" + " " + [First_Date]+ " " + [Last_Date] + " " +[Percentage]+"\n" + "Snowfall" + " " + [First_Da_1]+ " " + [Last_Dat_1] + " " +[Percenta_1]+"\n"+ "Snow Depth" + " " + [First_Da_2]+ " " + [Last_Dat_2] + " " +[Percenta_2]+"\n"+ "Rain" + " " + [First_Da_3]+ " " + [Last_Dat_3] + " " +[Percenta_3]+"\n" I'm guessing all those in brackets are fields that are part of your shapefile or feature class.

Try return label instead of return FindLabel, FindLabel is your function, label is your string you built which you want to show up.

you shouldn't need the "next row" at all, you are in a for loop, so it will loop through all the rows regardless. Also, if you are on ArcGIS 10.1 or higher, I would use the data access cursor(arcpy.da.SearchCursor), it works significantly faster the old arcpy.SearchCursor.

Hi Katherine NAIP Imagery only goes up to 2011 in WV(so far), so no luck there(though they should be flying it again this year, but it could be a while before the products are available). Depending on how large the area you need to find imagery for, selected areas were flown in 2012 by the sheriffs association for populated areas with 4in resolution. http://wvgis.wvu.edu/data/dataset.php?ID=437 If your project is fairly small in scope, some counties do fly their own imagery so you could try to get it from them. Hope this helps you out.

I've never used 9.3(started on 10.0), but I can assume there has been a significant difference in the interface from ArcGis Desktop 9.3 to 10.2. Is the problem you are having with "On the Editor toolbar, set the Task drop-down menu to Select Features Using an Area" or "Go to the Selection tab at the bottom of the table of contents, and make sure that the Land Use layer is the only one selectable...". For the 2nd one, you need only right-click on the layer in the Table of Contents, go to the selection arrow, and select "make this the only selectable layer" or on the Table of Contents on the top there are 5 icons at the top, the 4th one is List by Selection and you can toggle layers to be selectable and not selectable, toggle the layer you need to selectable and other layers to Not Selectable. If it is the first line I mentioned, you can use the step I mentioned in my first post to click and drag a box that will select. Perhaps if posted more of what the tutorial is trying to do, we could give you instructions on how to accomplish it on ArcGIS 10.2 Also I'd highly recommend that you find a workbook that covers the current version of the software you are using.

Click the arrow looking button(edit tool) next to the editor drop down on the editor tool bar and you should be able to click and select by area. What version of ArcGIS are you running and what book title and edition are you using?

THere should be a way in Global Mapper(I know this is a bit of a carry over from that other thread you asked on). The Export DEM command allows the user to export any loaded elevation grid data sets to a native format USGS DEM file. Global Mapper User's Manual Alternatively, I found a relevant Stack Exchange thread that you might be interested in if the Global Mapper solution doesn't work out. arcgis 10.0 - Can I convert ESRI Grid (DEM) raster to USGS DEM? - Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange Hope this helps
