I know this is an old thread but I still would like to see this. If the ArcGIS server security model is very simple maybe it should be modernized to match portal capabilities.

Yes agree! In addition I would love to see the ability to hide elements completely. If you had a bad data dump or process run sometimes you want to hide certain indicators. Now without deleting entirely you cannot do that. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-online-ideas/toggle-tab-visibility-in-operations-dashboard/idi-p/1014479/jump-to/first-unread-message

Sudhir we ran into that as well. Don't think there is anything you can do about it other than update your metadata.

By giving any administrative privilege you also give them all rights to any service on a federated arcgis server. They can delete or edit any service. This is also an unfortunate side effect. I agree this makes things very difficult. It also is misleading. The fine grained permissions listed on portal do not correlate with the outdated security on the servers. I agree ESRI needs to get this fixed.

No way around it the method you are describing. You could allocate licenses through ArcGIS Enterprise or AGOL.

I have this same issue. It happened when we were running 10.7.1 and we got a hotfix for BUG-000126236 and then it worked. After upgrading to 10.8.1 and then installing the latest print patch so we could print again, the issue is back. If Esri has helped you solve this please share. Thanks

If a user has more than 150 group claims Azure by design switches from sending the groups through SAML to sending a query response. ESRI has not built in the compatibility to handle this. Just wondering if more large organizations have ran into this and if we can push esri to fix.

I still get an error. I tried something similar to what you proposed. It is the user type that I have issues with. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------AttributeError Traceback (most recent call last)<ipython-input-2-8fcaf853ac6d> in <module> 2 response = group.get_members() 3 for user in response['users'] :----> 4 if(user.userLicenseTypeId == "creatorUT"): 5 print(user)AttributeError: 'str' object has no attribute 'userLicenseTypeId'

I am struggling with getting all of the creators in a certain group in my Enterprise portal environment. I am using Enterprise Notebook. group = gis.groups.get("6bde3136acbb48bcba1edc2eca61eac6") response = group.get_members() for user in response['users'] : print(user) will list all the users in specified group, but how do I limit it further to only Creators?

Forgive my ignorance but where in the world would print(os.path.abspath(fname)) be if I ran this on and Enterprise Notebook? I ran this with no errors and it said: =================== The CSV file can be found here: /arcgis/AGOL_Group_Membership20200416.csv ===================
But I cannot find this file

We had a Chef rep reach out to us and we had a webinar. Currently we have an on site linux server for Chef Manage with over 20 nodes bootstrapped. Their new business model from my understanding from that meeting is this. Their hosted environment with less than 20 nodes would remain free but more that 20 would cost per node. We can keep our current on prem chef server but would not be able to update without licensing cost. This is not an option for us as governance requires updated software to mitigate risks. The multiple Admin issue is a non issue because in our original setup we used the same Admin between Portal and servers. I am sure I can figure out the new json if I have access to the right examples. My question is will there be an issue running the correct powershell-dsc scripts to upgrade after having used chef up to this point? Would I be better off doing a backup of the Enterprise then uninstalling and then reinstalling using Powershell or will I be ok just upgrading as is.

Chef is changing their business model. We can no longer have an on site Chef Manage solution if we want it supported without a significant cost. We have been deploying our multi server environments with Chef since 10.6. My question is can I switch to using Powershell-dsc for upgrades or are there steps I need to do to migrate deployment solutions?

Right, that is what I am doing but with this process I get the above error. It is causing the ports all to be used. If I restart the server I then can run the webgisdr again. This error is causing all network shares (even local folders shared as a network share) to be unreachable. Is there a setting somewhere to prevent this?
