Hi, I wonder if there is a geoprocessing tool to calculate a CRC checksum for a given set of attributes in a file and/or enterprise GDB? Ideally, the CRC checksum should be generated with alphanumeric attributes and spatial attributes to output a robust checksum to detect any changes on feature after editing... If running same CRC checksum later on, it will be obvious to detect updated feature... Any help appreciated

Nothing special in the Arcade expression, just trying to parse a date field in order to display previous day (Recent) features differently than others (Historic): var date_text = $feature.DATETIME //Parsing DATETIME date var datetime_list = Split(date_text, "T") var date_list = Split(datetime_list[0], "-") var year_val = date_list[0] var month_val = date_list[1] var day_val = date_list[2] //Caution: months are 0 to 11 var movement = Date(year_val, month_val-1, day_val) //Current day var display=Today() var yesterday=DateDiff(display, movement, 'days') decode(yesterday, 1,'Recent','Historic')

In addition to the JSON issue mentioned, is there a reason why the JSON do not show up in Portal? It is strange! Same layer published to ArcGIS Online, JSON file is accessible, but not in Portal...

Thanks for the solution to modify symbology of hosted Feature in ArcGIS Online. I am trying to micmic a hatch symbol fill over a fill symbol fill (multi-layers symbol), as follow: ArcGIS Pro symbol When shared to ArcGIS Online, only the first 2 layers displays. It looks like the plain yellow fill is not in the JSON file. In drawingInfo for uniqueValue renderer, initially I have: {"symbol":{"type":"esriSFS","style":"esriSFSBackwardDiagonal","color":[255,85,0,255],"outline":{"type":"esriSLS","style":"esriSLSSolid","color":[255,85,0,255],"width":0.5}},"value":"Sample","label":"Sample"} And I am trying to add an extra “layer” in the symbology for the plain yellow fill: "type":"esriSFSSolid","color":[255,255,153,255] When updating the drawingInfo code, it gives: {"symbol":{"type":"esriSFS","style":"esriSFSBackwardDiagonal","color":[255,85,0,255],"type":"esriSFSSolid","color":[255,255,153,255],"outline":{"type":"esriSLS","style":"esriSLSSolid","color":[255,85,0,255],"width":0.5}},"value":"Sample","label":"Sample"} When hitting Update Service Definition button, it looks ok with a message “Updated Feature Service”… but when returning to the drawingInfo code, the changes do not appear. I also tried to change the "lastEditDate" to null to validate the change, but it did not work either. Finally, I noticed a message “Note: This operation is only supported via POST” in the top of the JSON page. Would it cause the drawingInfo not to update? Any help appreciated

Hi, I have a Hosted Feature Layer in ArcGIS Online on which I created an Arcade expression to "classify" data for symbolization. The expression works ok but it looks like to fetch 2000 features only, randomly, for symbolization. As follows: However, if the layer contains more than 2000 features, symbolization is likely to be wrong because it only "fetches" 2000 features. For example, if the layer contains 150000+ features, symbolization shows as: Then, the Arcade expression for symbolization becomes useless! Is it a known issue? Is there any workaround to overcome this 2000 features limitations? Any help appreciated.

Hi all, Thanks for your help. 1. Unfortunately, the Repair Geometry did not help because dangles are probably too large and not actually geometry problem 2. The Planarize is a good start but it only works for simple self-intersection and/or dangle. Anything more complex need a manual fix, as shown below. 3. The Topology rule... I tried to adjust the XY Cluster Tolerance to 0.001 degree to match my self-intersection but I received an unknown error... This is all I managed to test this week... As the Repair Self Intersection tool in the Topographic Production extension needs extra licensing, I wonder if there would be a similar tool in QGIS (but I am not as experienced in QGIS!)

True, it is in Cartography Tools, meant for visual representation. I wonder how the similar Polygon to Centerline in the Topographic Production Tools would behave... Similar algorithm or smarter? I cannot try it as it requires an extension! Also, the Collapse Hydro Polygon is new in Pro 2.9 and perhaps not perfect (yet!) https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/topographic-production/polygon-to-centerline.htm

Thanks Dan. I double-checked again the parameters but nothing really to deal with dangles in sharp bends. To me, it looks like the Collapse Hydro Polygon tool is confused in sharp bends as you can see here below. Small bends are ok Vs dangles in sharp bends! I guess the algorythm tries to follow the shape of the polygon to the further possible way but ends up thw wrong way, and then retries the centerline in a better direction... If this makes sense. This may explain why centerline always ends the wrong way at polygons ends, as below. In the tool notes, there are some warnings/limitations about possible confusion with certain complex polygon (which to me is not the case here). For info, polygons are not multipart. Hi, I discover the Collapse Hydro Polygon and I still have a question on how does the tool behave at bends. The screenshot below show the unique polygon converted to centerline and I wonder why there is a dangling line at the bend? Is it a normal behavior of the tool? And what is the rational? Thanks

Hi, I have a GPS track as a polyline, attached. I am looking at how to tiday and/or clean self-intersections. It must be a common task and so far I only found the Repair Self Intersection tool which requires the Topographic Production extension... Is there any other geoprocessing tool and/or workflow to perform such cleaning? Thanks

Thanks. Fortunately, my SQL-client does not allow to create duplicate column names in a view... Although, this is an important point, if there is any duplicate OBJECTID, the layer usually draws but it is not possible to open the attribute table. To come back to my initial issue, I forgot to mention that if I create a table (not a view) with same SQL query, it does work and display correctly in ArcGIS Pro. As I said, my SQL has 2 LEFT JOIN and a nested decode (about 10) statment in SELECT to fetch data in the LEFT JOIN tables... Probably too heavy for ArcGIS Pro to execute the query and receive results to display... If I create the same views without the nested decode, the layer displays but slowly. To me, it is like ArcGIS Pro not 'patient' enought to receive results to display. I have to admit I am stuck with complex queries. I will have to create tables on a regular basis in the scheduler and create views on them.

Hi, I regularly use Oracle-based database views built from scratch from other tables with ST_GEOMETRY, registered in a 10.6.1 Entreprise GDB. These views performs well in third-party SQL client in which they execute in about 1sec... However, I noticed that polyline views do not display entirely in ArcGIS Pro. I tweak my SQL views a lot but with no luck. The attribute table do open though and show all records. In addition, this particular view uses LEFT JOIN syntax. Is there a know limitation in database view in ArcGIS Pro and/or Enterprise GDB? If I build a similar view with regular joins on primary and foreign keys in a WHERE clause, it does displays the polyline. This let me wonder if LEFT JOIN is not digested with the ArcGIS platform... And/or is there any settings and/ot tuning I can tweak? (such increasing response time when ArcGIS Enterprise execute the view in order to receive the geometry) For info, my polyline is initially 65'000 records in WGS84 and I also reduce it to 340 records and same issue appears! Any feedback would be appreciated

Hi, Good news, the upgrade to ArcGIS Pro 2.9 solved the issue The Register with Geodatabase geoprocessing tool can now register views made from scratch from third-party client, mashed from other tables stored in underlying RDBMS and spatially enabled with SDE function. I even noticed the tool faster in Pro. Excellent

Hi, I a large Enterprise GDB, is there any geoprocessing tool to search (and delete) obsolete gdb items (GDB_ITEMS) and spatial indexes (in ST_GEOMETRY_INDEX)? For maintenance. In theory, any ESRI tool should maintain these tables valid but if some operation are performed outside in a third-party client will mess up these tables... Thanks
