If possible, that would be great. My company won an award in the map gallery and the map's primary author was not able to attend. I would like to share with him the nice comments made by the judging committee at the closing.

That's a pity. It would be nice if they at least posted a video of the intro and awards portion.

ArcGIS and Portal generally have the same functionality... eventually. Portal user usually have to wait six months to year for new features that hit ArcGIS Online. The blog was helpful though, thank you. If I add the layer to Portal via the rest service url and then add it to my map, I get the options I need as opposed to browsing to the layer via Living Altas within the map itself. One question though. You say that subscriber services cost credits. My understanding was that premium services cost credits but that subscriber services could be shared in a web app or story map without consuming credits, as long as you have an organizational account. Do I have that wrong?

I'm using Portal 10.5 and I'd like to make a web app that uses some Living Atlas subscriber content that would be visible to an anonymous user. Seems like ArcGIS Online users can do it, so one would hope there is a way to do in Portal as well, right? Do I have to set up a self-hosted proxy service to do this? Would this be the appropriate methodology: Working with Proxy Services | ArcGIS for Developers

I'm working in WABD 2.3 and I want to modify the tab theme slightly. I want to add one extra widget holder in the top right corner relative to the map. (See attached screen shot.) I was hoping to make a copy of the default tab theme and make that modification. Can anyone point me to the right spot in the theme code to make that change? Thanks for any help. -Shannon

Thank you both! Both Robert Scheitlin, GISP and eroaesri-co-esridist solutions worked for me though I think Edwin's solution will best fit my needs in this case. Thank you for taking the time to help a beginner.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to query a table in my js application and make a list of attributes for use elsewhere in my application (for example in the attached code, I'm trying to query the table for all records in California so I can then make a list of all the counties in that state). I thought the selectedRows property would give me exactly what I needed, and while my selection is coming up with the proper number of records, the selectedRows object array is empty. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or if I should take another approach all together? <!DOCTYPE html>

I spoke to a couple of folks on the ESRI arcpy.mapping team about this at UC a couple of years ago. The party line seemed to be that ESRI didn't want to reinvent everything for python that was already available in ArcObjects. I keep hoping if we bug them enough it might happen though. I have to maintain a handful of templates with about 20 named scale bars each to get around this problem, which is kind of ridiculous if you ask me.

Alright, in the end, here is what ended up working. I realized I was using a slightly older version of web appbuilder developers edition, so I downloaded the current 2.3 release, imported my old app, redeployed it on my server exactly the same way as before, and like magic the portal login requirement disappeared. I had to reconfigure a handful of my widgets, but so be it. Thanks to everyone for your help.

Poorly clarified on my part. The services, map, and app are all marked as shared with "Everyone".

I verified anyway and my "Allow Anonymous Access" box is checked. I'll try your troubleshooting suggestion above with the simple vanilla app and let you know how far I get. I appreciate everybody's help so far.

I built an app in Web AppBuilder for Developers and deployed it on my server to which other folks on my intranet have access. - The app is set in Portal to be shared with everyone in my organization. - The app includes a handful of fairly standard custom widgets I downloaded, none of which consume credits in any way. - The web map that the app is using is set to be shared with everyone in my organization. - The map services inside the web map are set to be shared with everyone in my organization. Folks in my organization can access the web map without logging into Portal, but if they attempt to access my new fancy web app, they are being asked for a Portal log in. What am I missing? I have not configured a proxy. I didn't think I needed one if the services were shared with everyone and I wasn't consuming ArcGIS Online credits. Is that correct?

Thank you for the reply Thomas, and yes, that does seem to be the right way to do it, but the urls provided for the sample vector tile layers are pretty generic. For example, the modern antique sample url is listed as: https://basemaps.arcgis.com/v1/arcgis/rest/services/World_Basemap/VectorTileServer (I think that's the base data and doesn't include the styling laid on top of it?) If you attempt to add that url to a Portal web map as you described above you get the following error message: The layer is not a supported type and can not be added to the map. After to talking to some folks at ESRI, I was told that this functionality is not yet supported for Portal for ArcGIS yet.
