I was not able to load features from our AGOL org account. I researched a little and it seems like this wasn't possible at this time. Not sure why they allow us to log in and see our feature services though. Strange. Only my ArcGIS Enterprise services worked. That being said, I would love if AGOL was available.

I am getting this error when loading a service layer of 1' topo, roughly 4000 features. However, when I loaded a feature service with one polygon, or clipped the topo to be a few hundred features the data loaded fine.

I'm running a Dell Precision M6800 with 16GB RAM, Intel Core 1704940MX CPU @ 3.10CHz 3.30 GHz with NVIDIA Quadro K5100M. My my tech's machine is running a newer more robust machine: 64 GB ram, Intel Xeon CPU E5 2637 v4 & 3.5 GHz (2 processors), NVidia Quadro M5000. Both machines handle Pro fairly well, but I am not seeing the vast improvements I would expect from this new multi-threaded 64bit app. Also, there are random latency issues my tech and I experience. Not deal breakers but annoying. Sometimes changing a symbol could take 10 seconds for the processing bars to go away and then update. Turning a layer on could be instantaneous or could take a few seconds. This seems to vary by the day and by project. In addition, geoprocessing doesn't seem to be enhanced from ArcMap, some even feel they take longer to complete. Do others have these type of issues? In addition, I wanted to know if those who are having a good experience with Pro, can give us their computer specs and workflow environment?

Thanks for the advice, however, my background processing was already disabled, and there were no special characters. The tool was behaving very oddly, as it would work on occasion. I was operating on an Iterate Dataset tool to batch convert some drawing files. I wanted to specify specific layers in the dwg to convert to a feature class, so I was using the output of the Iterate Dataset tool for the input of Make Feature Layer tool using a definition query. The problem I was having was in my syntax of the input feature option in the Make Feature Layer tool: %output%\polyline was my initial input. %output% being the variable of the iterate dataset which should be the pathname to the dwg iteration. The tool started working when I changed my input to %output%\\polyline, with two slashes.

I've noticed that when you add a text size to legend items in Pro, it will only change to the inputted text size if the legend frame size is sufficient to handle the increase. In other words, it gives preference to the legend frame size versus inputted text size. Is there an option I can change this? I don't see how this is desired behavior. When you work with maps and are adjusting items such as these, you don't know what the frame size will be. The workflow for me is to change the legend size to a large extent, enter the text size in order to see what size the legend needs to be, , then resize the frame to fit. This is completely backward in my opinion.

Is it possible in Pro to set up your tasks so you don't have to keep clicking into your task when finished? I have a simple task that asks for me to select a parcel, then I enter values in the Get Attributes, and finally it will calc the field with the values entered. What I would want is after the last step is executed to initiate the task all over again. Restart the task without me clicking to restart the task. I know it doesn't sound like much effort, but it gets redundant to click the task over and over 100s of times.

Just as a follow up, it's been about a month since I've kept tabs on my cache, other than random crashes (typical in ESRI software) the performance is substantially better. All that being said, there are many features unavailable in Pro that make it more difficult than Arcmap to use for quick analysis. For the life of me, I can't figure out why they didn't develop a field statistic option with a right mouse click as found in ArcMap. If you want to total your area field, for instance, you have to run the Summary Statistics geoprocessing. I didn't realize how much I depended on that small simple tool until it became unavailable. As a side note you can run python to calc your area x = [row[0] for row in arcpy.da.SearchCursor("layer", ["Shape@Area"])] sum(x)

Did you figure your issue out? If you want to send me a map package could test on our end to see if we get different results.

I opened the file, but it was blank. One question, what driver did you print to? Are you sure it was a postscript driver? In the control panel > devices and printers, right click to the driver Properties, the model name of the printer should have a "ps" in it. I'm wondering if that could be the issue.

If you want to send the file to me, I can try to convert with BlueBeam. There is also CutePDFWriter that installs as a print driver, could be another option.

Have you tried printing to file using a postscript printer, and then convert that to a PDF? That has helped me on occasion with some of the printing issues of Pro and Arcmap. The file might be a PRN, if it is you can rename the extension to PS, then you can open with Bluebeam (what I use) to convert.
