Raymond,    I do not think that the GenerateRendererTask that this widget uses give any ability to specify the outline style attributes. Control Default Symbology   What controls the default symbology when you start the Thematic Widget? I know how to control the default color ramp and number of classification breaks, but what about the outline of the polygons.     I thought it might be based on what the service has listed in Drawing Info: >> Renderer:, but it does not. Mine is set up with 1.0 thick light gray borders (204,204,204) but mine always draws with black (0,0,0) and 1.0 thickness border. ... View more

You could hardcode the color picker to only contain specific colors, if that would help out. Or did you want the user to select only particular ramps that you have defined? How would you hard code the color picker? That would help, but yes I would rather specify just four or five color ramps for the users to choose from. ... View more

I am always curious as to why individuals do not update to the latest version of the viewer (being free and all). Care to share why you are delaying or are undecided if you even will update? There are many organizations which do not allow any updates without first doing a security review. I have even seen things a like an update to virus definitions or a critical security patch for Windows have to go through a security review first. Crazy? Yes. ... View more

There is an issue on the GitHub repo related to this, please help identify the issue.  I need more information to know if it is an issue with the Legend skin or the version of ArcGIS Server you are using.  I am currently not seeing this issue when using the service from sampleserver6. I worked as an GIS extension agent for about ten years in USA state of Pennsylvania. Most of my work was with small local govs. As expected, any new system or change had a small percentage of detractors and critics, however, unlike systems for large govs or commercial apps, the detractors are harder to ignore. In small township with just 500 people, a single person can have a lot of influence on elected officials who in turn pressure you to meet the request regardless of how everyone else likes the system as is.  My favorite memory; I was told the color scheme of a ArcIMS 3.1 viewer proved we were being paid by the Netherlands Army poised to invade Pennsylvania and install the Amish as overlords. My advice, make sure to listen to the critics and note their requests, however, do not try to meet them all. If you do, there will be a new round of critics who want those changes reversed. ... It was reported in a thread from April 2013 this widget could not work on double fields. Based on what I am experiencing, not being able to use double fields is either inconsistent or was addressed in a later release. I am using version 3.6 and am able to display double data as shown below. Does anyone know if I am taking a risk it will fail or has it been fixed? It is not mentioned on the change log. I do not have a good answer for you, however, can commiserate as I was having the same problems. I suspect a few things; having the service defined wrong, having the variable defined wrong, needing to upgrade the widget version, just random gremlins in my old server. Another problem, there are restrictions on field types.
