The length of the polyline depends on the coordinate system distortion. The length reported is the length in that coordinate system with distortion, not the length along a geodetic great circle. Use the wrong coordinate system a path of 200kM becomes 300... Assuming the distance is large enough to make a difference, to get real length you nee a geodesic operation. IGeoPolyline exists in 10.1 as part of defenseSolutions library. The polyline has a ISegmentCollention interface which has an enumSegments. Segments have a from and to point...

This is from the IFieldsEdit.AddField help section: "AddField is used when creating a fields collection and cannot be used to insert a field into a fields collection belonging to an existing table. To add a field to an existing object class, use the IClass::AddField method."

Yes you can set a button to text only on the toolbar, use the ICommandItem.style property. However, this is not really the original question. You can switch arcmap to display all the buttons bigger in Customize\customize mode under options tab, but the images are still 16X16 so they just look coarser. Having 32x32 icons is long, long overdue... Unless you are willing to do what Neil suggested, you are kid of stuck.

I am not sure I follow. The license initializer may or may not be used in your code. Typically that gets added to the project when you use an esri template. I don't know what type of project, form, console, library you have. It might be called in the application initialization events, in the main function of a class or in the load of a form. The best thing is to search for references to it in your code.

64 bit with desktop 10.0 uh? We are all waiting for that one. Of course MS could do better to support those stuck in a 32 universe...

The license initializer initializes the ArcGIS (engine runtime, advanced etc.) that is necessary to use ArcObjects components. Without a license attempting to use ArcObjects classes will fail.

That is the binding to the product but there is also the check-in out of the license. Obviously that is being done correctly in the code since it does run when you launch it manually. I was just thinking if you rely on a TNS_NAMES file to make the database connection, or a LICENSE variable to get the license server or if you ran the code during a license server black-out period you could get this problem. If you right click on the scheduled task and run, do you get the same problem? Are you running it as the same user? If you have an options file on the license server, it might restrict the users allowed to check-out a license.

We are confronted with the same situation. If you are allowed to run vs as admin to compile, if your application needs any network resources, the admin user will need them too. Good luck, it is a major pain.

I have always found this annoying, there is no way to go back up. You have to go top down until you find your layer and then look at the previous level in your code.

Without exception handling you are going to have a hard time figuring this out. I suggest you put a try catch block in your onclick (and in any other event handler.) The likely culprit is the command item is not found, if it is not found, it will return nothing, you can call execute on nothing. If this SelectFPPoint is not installed and registered correctly, you will get this error, but without exception handling that is hard to assess.

I wonder if the license is not available when the task is initiated. Do you have any environment variables pointing to the license server that wouldn't be set for a 'run as' on a schedule? Is the license server or network in maintenance at that time? http://help.arcgis.com/en/sdk/10.0/arcobjects_net/conceptualhelp/index.html#//0001000002nt000000

if you reload cache for the GUI do you get the new rows? Have you tried callind EditChanged on the Table view before removeAndReloadCache? The GUI's ability to refresh the table depends on how the edit was done. In an edit session with an edit operation, the proper messages to say the table was updated should have been sent, it is quite tricky.

It is the same thing. Scene application is a SxApplication. It implements IApplication just like ArcMap. IApplication has a references a document, the document is an SxDocument. The SxDocument implements ISxDocument (much like IMxDocument.) The ISxDocument contains a Scene, Scene Implements among others IMap, IMap has mapunits.
