Exactly as Dan has said. Define Projection tool should only be used when you have a dataset which does not have a SR or a wrong SR, and you know what it actually is. This can sometimes be deduced from inspecting the data extents and knowing where the data is supposed to be. Once you have the data spatial reference defined correctly, only then can you use the Project tool to get all the data into a common system. ... View more

You cannot create a stream order vector dataset from previously supplied streams. These could be digitized in any direction and do not contain any flow info. It sounds like the first approach you were following is the correct one. But the output will depend on your input DEM. This may not agree with you existing stream vectors. What do you mean... "If i try e.g. the projected Coordinate System ETRS_1989_UTM_Zone_32N" The coordinates are either in this coordinate system or not. You need to know what the CRS of the input is... I would recommend first importing the excel sheet into a gdb first. There maybe some fluff in the spreadsheet which is causing this error. ...
