Would it be possible to add Geotab's Gear position field to ESRI's Geotab connector, found here? We're working on a web map that shows when one of our trucks is servicing a given hydrant in the field, but are encountering false positives when the vehicle is waiting at a red light near one of the hydrants, for example. If we could filter against the vehicle's gear status, adding a condition to only show those in Park, it'd go a long way towards weeding out the false positives. Geotab's native reporting does show that the gear position values are being captured, but they aren't conveyed to GeoEvent Server via the aforementioned connector.

More than eight years later and this tip is still saving people's bacon (e.g. mine).

I'm experiencing the exact same thing with my Geotab input on version 11.0. Started for me less than a week ago though. No idea what's going on.

Good morning, Zach. Sorry, should've mentioned that in my original post; the affected questions are of the text type.

Hi, all. I'm building out a survey using 123 Connect for use in our Enterprise environment with a non-hosted feature service. I need to validate a few address fields and it appears that I need to use the geocode appearance to do such, but that's not an option in the drop-down for that particular field. Am I doing something incorrect, or is that functionality only available with surveys created online/with a hosted service? I'm using Connect version 3.17.55 and I've also attached a screenshot of what I'm running into.

Hi Zach, Thanks for putting some thought to this. I do have a few domain fields, but the filter tool is also able to pull up values that reside in an open text field, e.g. names entered by users. Querying is disabled (screenshot of the feature service settings is attached). Related: In a test hosted feature view of the same data I notice that the filter tool can see field names, and can also look up values in a three-domain field, but for anything else it returns an error about there being too many values, which is a little better than what I see in my non-hosted service but still seems kind of like an unintended query behavior to me. I'd still take that over what's able to be seen in my non-hosted service though...

Hi all, I've deployed a survey to our Enterprise using Survey123 Connect and a feature service pointing to a feature class in a SLQ Server database. The issue here is that the survey is built to contain personal contact information and while I've been able to lock down the feature service to only allow record creation and disallow map rendering, querying, and export, you can still view individual values in a dropdown by using the filter tool in a web map and setting it to find unique values for a given field (image attached). Since you can only peek at one value in one field at a time this way no one can really make any data associations, but I'd prefer to prevent this workaround by disabling filtering outright. I understand that the recommendation here is to use a hosted feature layer view but we're really trying to keep everything within our data server and out of the Data Store. Is there a way to do this? I've tried to cover all of the other security angles but if this can't be secured to the greatest extent possible then I'll have to go another route. Thank you!

Hi, everyone. Does anybody know if Motion Calculator works with version 11 of Geoevent Server? I’m having a blast learning my way around a brand spanking new deployment, but no matter what I do I can’t get this processor to write an output. There’s a chance I’m just botching the definition, but I’ve taken great pains to make sure I’m managing what appear to be required fields. Any documentation I can find on the tool doesn’t say anything about compatibility past 10.6, which got me wondering if it’s compatible at all with my install.

Almost nine years later and it looks like this is still a limitation. I'd love to be able to do this. I have authoritative geometry that I use for all kinds of maps, some of which have distinct attachment needs, and I don't necessarily want to affect the primary feature class, so passing attachments from a joined table back to the geometry's popup would be great.

This is exactly what I need too. Was very surprised when I realized I couldn’t configure layer search based on the global ID or object ID fields. ESRI, please make this happen!

Adding onto the pile here with my problems. Been experiencing sporadic issues with hosted feature layers for a few months now, but hosted tile/map image services work just fine. As with others, Data Store validates just fine. Rebooting either the Data Store service or the entire application server yields no results. 😵

Just had hazy memory come up, Levi: What are the security settings for the map service you're trying to print secured services with? I see that mine is set to me only, and I vaguely recall that publicly shared print services aren't allowed to print secured items--something about malicious actors being able to gain backdoor access to secured items via the public-facing print tool. Might be misremembering but hopefully it's something...

Oh, shoot. I did indeed struggle with that in the past, but I can't for the life of me remember how I fixed it! It turned out being something really simple in the end. If I remember I'll let you know.

I encountered the exact same situation, Levi. Ended up downgrading Pro to 2.9 but if you've saved your layout files via 3.0 you won't be able to open them in the older version. In that case I had to remote into another computer, open them up in 3.0, and then copy/paste them into a 2.9 project on my primary machine. Overwrote the service and it seems to be working again. Yuck!
