Hi Rajesh, One option for this is to set the steps to be auto-executed in their step properties. Then, if the users clicks the Auto-execute button on the toolbar, it will execute both of these steps with one single click. Another option is to have the step properties of the subsequent step handle the job assignment, rather than having an assignment step in workflow specifically for this. The "Step Properties" section of this document should be able to help you with either of these: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Tools_for_configuring_workflows/00380000006n000000/ 10.1 also adds some additional functionality that would help in this case. First, there is the ability to send a notification when step is completed (also set as a step property) so you can avoid the Send Notification step. As well, it also adds the ability to truly combine multiple steps into a single step via the use of subworkflows. In this case, the steps you want to run together would be moved to their own workflow, and a single step would be added to the original workflow to run this subworkflow.

Hi Rajesh, It is not supported to create the service through ArcGIS Server Manager at 10.0. Instead, you must use the tools provided under the Workflow Manager Servers node in ArcCatalog to create the service.

Hi Fraser, You cannot make one step dependent on another. Would it be possible to change the workflow to make the parallel branches of the workflow merge at this step, and then split again after it? The other option would be to perform some of the activities in a child job, and use job dependencies in order to enforce the correct order. Kevin

Hi Eduardo, With Workflow Manager Server on ArcGIS Server .Net, it is not supported to browse the services in the way you are attempting. Instead, you must connect directly to the service. For example, at http://[myserver]/wmrest/services/[myservice]/WMServer If you are wanting to view what services are published, you can use ArcGIS Server Manager, or the Workflow Manager Servers node in ArcCatalog.

Hi Eduardo, Are you using OS authentication within your JTC file? If so, it will be trying to connect to the database as the SOC user. In this case, you either need to give permissions to the SOC user to access the database containing the Workflow Manager schema, or configure a JTC file using database authentication to be used by the server.

Hi Fraser, At 10.0, if you are using Step Status Assignment, and any steps do not have a specific status set on them, the job will revert to the Working status. At 10.1, this behavior has been modified so that if any steps do not have a status set, the job's status will be unmodified.

Hi Coral, If you have selected the Disallow by Job Type option, you should be able to create multiple jobs of different types with overlapping AOIs like you want. Have you closed and reopened the Workflow Manager client application since you selected the Disallow by Job Type option? If so, and you are still experiencing this issue, I would log an item with support to see if they can reproduce this issue. Thanks, Kevin

Yes, the JTXUIConfig.xml file is located on each users machine in the <WMX install>\config folder.

Hi Coral, 1. If the logged in user has the AssignAnyJob privilege, there is no way to restrict the assignment based on what group the job is currently assigned to. However, if a user only has the GroupJobAssign privilege, they will only be able to assign it to other members of the groups they belong to. This may accomplish the same result that you desire. 2. This sounds like it might be an issue with the job query, as only 1 job is ever created with the same ID. The query may have an improper join to the JTX_USERS table and is showing the same job for each record in the table. Was this query created with the SQL Builder? If so, can you try removing the JTX_USERS table from the FROM section of the query (as well as any fields from this table from the SELECT section) and see if it resolves the issue? Kevin

Hi Earl, Yes, the Workflow Manager service packs are also cumulative. You can simply install SP4 to get all the fixes resolved in SP1-4. Sorry for any confusion caused by the documentation. Kevin

Does the machine that is experiencing this issue have any additional extensions installed that might be preventing ArcMap from opening? Another potential cause could be a secured layer that does not have credentials stored for it. In this case it will open a dialog asking for a username and password and it could be that this dialog is appearing behind another window so that it is not easily seen.

It is possible to use a feature class as the source for extended properties, although you should not enable any of the system fields within the feature class (Object ID, Job ID, shape, etc). As well, this will only work with non-versioned feature classes, as Workflow Manager does not edit the extended properties inside an edit session.

Hi Trevor, Right now, there is no way to use a spatial reference other than WGS84. It is possible to remove this command from the AOI panel by updating the JTXUIConfig.xml, but there is no way to remove it from the Define Jobs Spatially window. We are currently investigating ways to improve this functionality to handle other spatial references in the future. Kevin

This error is caused by the ArcSDE MAXBLOBSIZE parameter being set too small. The ArcSDE administrator will need to increase the size of this parameter to a value large enough to store the MXD. This page has more information about how this is done: http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?TopicName=ArcSDE%20initialization%20parameters Kevin
