I did try the removing Font trick you suggested but I actually didn't have very many fonts (not the 2000+ you mentioned) and didn't notice a change. However - I downloaded that new Patch that was provided in the comments above: ArcGIS Desktop Dialog Initialization Performance Patch and that worked! Now the layer properties are opening up at their normal speeds (~6 seconds compared to ~20 seconds) again.

I'm also experiencing this same issue -we recently upgraded to 10.6.1 and have Win10 machines now. Do you have more information on this bug? I tired searching for it and didn't find it. Is ESRI really saying that it wont be fixed until 10.7?

Well, that fixed it changing that Vendor ArcGIS port to 27002. Just curious now on what that means in case we run into that again?

We were able to get around the firewall issue and connect to it from another server machine - but now we are not able to connect to it from a local desktop. Any ideas on why that might be happening?

We recently installed ArcMap 10.6.1 and License Server 2018.0 for testing - the server that is hosting the license server works fine when I connect to it using ArcMap within the server. However, when I try to connect to it from my desktop or another server it does not connect and says "<ServerName> does not have a valid License Manager...". I've uninstalled and reinstalled License Manager and also tried to change the Port numbers to configure around the firewall. We also have a Options file and when I tried that i get the same non-connecting issues.

Once a user goes through all the fields and hits 'Submit' I will like a Thank you page to open or have the user be sent back to a different website. Is that possible?

I have a REST Url that is exposed externally and will like a user that is outside of the city to have access to a secured service. We have our ArcGIS Site configured to use Active Directory and can't create a user in our AD that is outside of the city to gain access to the service. The other configuration settings are: Authentication Tier: GIS Server Authentication Mode: ArcGIS Tokens Is there a trick/work-around/ or something that I'm missing to give this user access to our secured service?

Well right now, I have a SQL script in my application that runs a query on the last record found and displays it for them- it's a band-aid on this problem right now, but I tired convincing them about the ObjectID but they need it to be that string of numbers

That was one of my ideas since it does it automatically, but they need the ID numbers to be .00001, .00002 and so on

Right now I am using Latitude's Geocortex HTML5 web applications as the app, but have been tossing around the idea of also using AGOL for just editing- if the steps you showed above work to some degree then I'll take the route of using AGOL

Nothing at the moment - but now that you brought that up I'll probably add something to the app if this is needed for the unique IDs to not be duplicated.

I have a sde feature class of different sites around the city that editors will use to create new ones created through an application. I am hoping that there is a way to when the editor goes into the app to create a new site, as the form pops up to begin editing- the site ID (unique ID for each site) will be automatically populated with the next number in sequence (last one created was site .00001 and the next one will be .00002 and so on). This will help with making sure that a unique ID isn't used twice and the editors don't have to remember the last one they used. Thanks!

I was kinda wondering if this was a bug of some sort the last time we ran into this issue. We have Release Version: 10.2 and Product Version: 10.2.0.3348 and I don't believe our patches are up to date.

This has happened to us before and now we have the steps to hurriedly changed the permission settings back to what they need to be, but this is kind of a pain in the butt. What usually happens is if we do any changes to our VM where our ArcGIS Server sits, we lose all of our permissions and it sets back to, what I'm assuming is default token authentication? We use windows authentication to access our web services for our apps, and after a reboot of the server, the services all lock up and nothing can access them. There's a lock symbol next to all the services in ArcGIS Server Manager (even for me with admin rights) and my apps ask for usernames and passwords. The steps I take now (thanks to ESRI Tech support) is to go into ArcGIS Admin Directory, go to the services, then permissions and type in esriEveryone in the Allowed Principles- or do a clean and re-add it in. Those steps fix the problem and our services are back up and running and no permission issues- yay. But, what I would like to know is why it does that and is there anyway we can fix it so when we do any reboots or changes to our server that we don't lose our permissions. We use ArcGIS 10.2 Thanks!
