3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst are not included in ArcInfo. These are separate installations and require an additional license. If you are licensed for these extensions, you may need to check to see if they have been installed. It looks like the extensions are installed since they appear in the extensions list. There are steps to registry the extension in this document: Using Extensions in ArcGIS You can check to see if they are installed by going to Windows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > select ArcGIS Desktop from the program list and click Change. For here you can see what features are installed. Adding additional installation features

Hi Helena, Dan is right, you will need to use the Plus tool. This tool is found under the Spatial Analyst Toolbox > Math. You can only add two raster at a time with the Plus tool. You can however use the Raster Calculator (Spatial Analyst > Map Algebra) and create an expression to add all of the rasters. -Timothy

You cannot rename the fields. You can however use the Feature Class to Feature Class tool and specify the new names in the Field Map section of the tool.

A spatial join can assign the attributes of the polygon directly to the attribute table of the output point file. Right click the point file and choose Joins and Relates > Join. Select the option to join data from another layer based upon spatial location. Choose the grid polygon layer and select the option to give the attributes of the polygon to the each point that falls inside. Finding what is inside a polygon

I was able to see the same behavior by renaming a band in ArcCatalog 9.3.1 and then viewing in ArcCatalog 10. It goes back to the original band name. I also noticed the renaming a band in 10 remains the same in 9.3.1. I wonder if it has something to do with how each version is reading the file. If you do not get any other responses, I would suggest that you contact Esri Support so that this issue can be looked into further.

Note sure if this will get you to your expectations, but open an edit session and select all of the features. Then use the merge function from the editor menu. This will take all of the feature and create a single multipatch feature. If you then would like for them to be individual features you can use the Multipart to Singlepart tool.

Hi Yair, Yes, the editing functionality had changed a bit in ArcGIS 10. The target editing layer is no longer on the toolbar. You can now select the layer to edit from the Create Features window and then a construction tool. Look at the following document for further detail: A quick tour of editing There is also the option to switch back to 9.x edit environment. It is described in the following blog: Setting the Edit and Snapping Environments in ArcGIS 10 to the Classic (9.x) Format -Timothy

Yes, I get the same error with those maps. I did find the following KB Article: Error: Could not open the specified file This seems to apply to map packages that were created in 10 sp1 but are being opened by 10 sp0. I have service pack 1 installed so for me this fix does not apply. -Timothy

Hi! You will need to specify these values within your point feature class. You will need to add the field into the attribute table and define the values. Make sure you use the exact field name so that it can be recognized by the process. You can see the field names for each parameter that can be used in the following document: Using Viewshed and Observer Points for visibility analysis The follow steps comes from the 9.3 help: Using the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst toolbar to calculate Viewshed -Timothy

Hi Ross, If you look at you image with the overviews you will notice that the colors are inverted. This is a known issue with ArcGIS 10 with how to pyramids are built by using the Nearest resampling technique (default). You can fix this by rebuilding the pyramids using the Build Pyramid tool and setting the Raster Storage Environment setting to use Bilinear as the resampling technique. -Timothy

Hi Ben, Are you using the 3D Layer to Feature Class tool in ArcMap or ArcScene? The tool uses the 3D layer properties and creates the multipatch. In ArcMap there are no 3D properties, so the resulting multipatch would be flat. You will need to run the tool in ArcScene with the 3D properties applied to the layer. How Layer 3D To Feature Class (3D Analyst) works -Timothy
