Or if you need it sooner you can build the app using WAB Dev outside of Portal and point to a newer version of the JS API.

Owen, This still isn't working as intended (despite having set it up successfully previously) The output PDF is created in the correct output scratch folder fine using fn = r"{0}\well_map.pdf".format(arcpy.env.scratchFolder) But setting output parameter to fn results in an error through the geoprocessing widget: A test message I put in the code says the output path to fn is C:\Users\arcgis\Appdata\Local\Temp\geoprocessors\*name*\*ID*\scratch\well_map.pdf ...I don't think that's a problem itself as a similar message resolves in a same way for output featureclasses which draw fine as a map service (note: I've checked the directories of the server, none are set to a local path) Looking at the network calls/response through IE developer tools or similar, the link to the file is OK and I can click on that and successfully open it. It's just that whatever I try I cannot get the output parameter in the geoprocessing widget to successfully set to the link- It errors out with no messages (i.e. not a script problem). Any ideas?

That part worked (i.e. removed the deploy version from the outgoing calls) but didn't resolve loading of the 3rd party libraries. I've subsequently traced the error to version 3.23 of the JS API. Reverting env.js to point to version 3.20 of the API removes all errors- We host our API locally so I'm unsure if it is a bad install of 3.23 or something in version 3.23 generally.

Thanks Robert- That helped, but didn't solve my problem unfortunately. I think its related to how the external libraries are loaded with jimu/loaderplugins so will keep searching.

We have a custom search widget which calls additional libraries in its widget.js using jimu/loaderplugins to load jQuery and terraformer. Looking at the network calls when the app is initiating the widgets in an older WAB dev edition app (v1.3) compared with a newer one (v2.5), the calls to Widget.js have now been appended with ?wab_dev=2.5 (i.e. the deployVersion as listed in the env.js of the application). This is causing issues with the loading of these extra libraries (access is denied and the widget fails to startup). Commenting out the deployVersion line in env.js throws an error. Is there a way to disable that? Or alternatively, is there a updated method for loading additional libraries (in order) from the widget? Regards

I also have this requirement for similar reasons- A script/tool is used to generate a consistent map document from a template when given a centerpoint coordinate, scale, page size + orientation, title etc. In Arcmap, templates mxds were created for each page size/orientation and scale, the script would open the relevant one, pan to location, update some text elements then save a copy in the output folder. If the map wasn't in layout view, it would warn or switch. In Pro, all sizes/orientation (A4P, A4L --- A0P, A0L) layouts are contained within a single aprx (which is really useful for managing them!). The update Pro script does a similar thing although there is no way to a) set the active layout to what size/orientation the user has chosen and/or b) delete the other size/orientations from the savedAs aprx. Each Layout in the aprx has a unique name (in this case, the name of the size/orientation and scale, i.e. A4P_50K) so could be referenced by that name from a listLayouts etc. Each layout references the same 2 maps (a main map and an inset).

I also have a requirement to be able to remove Layouts from an aprx using Arcpy.mp. Arcpro has simplfied map templates as you can now keep all template variations of paper size/orientation in one project file. The draw back is that when requiring just one layout of many, there is no way in arcpy.mp to strip out the unneeded layouts from the project.

It also appears that adding a script + parameters to a toolbox created in ArcMap is not supported. The previous toolbox will show in Pro and you can go through the process of adding the script and parameters etc, but nothing is added after clicking OK and no warnings are given (which is a bit annoying after adding a complex set of parameters only to have it disappear)

Can someone give an example/better description of how the Local Storage option works? The way I read it, if in App 1, you set Local storage key to 'xx1234', then if that same user uses App 2 which also has the key 'xx1234', then any drawings made in App 1 will show? I thought initially that by setting 'Local Storage Key' to a server path then perhaps All users of the App would draw into that common repository....but the help is a little sparse so I'm not really sure what the correct usage of it is? I want to know if its possible for multiple anonymous users to draw into the same file (held on a server)? (The list of people who can actually access the app and therefore who can draw into the file will be controlled via portal, likely only 2 people max)..kind of like a poor mans enterprise DB I guess.

What's also annoying is that it appears that there's a bug (in 10.51) whereby even if defining the coordinate system again to add a vertical coordinate system to a Mosaic, the definition is not saved.

This is a bug though. Even with tools supplied by ESRI (i.e. Terrain Profile tool), the feature template will work the first time and allow you to draw a line as input. However, any subsequent times after saving the mxd and re-opening it, instead of the draw tool, the select tool will show. The only way around it, is to copy all layers to a new mxd and re-run the tool....of course this means that you loose a lot of information. Pretty frustrating to be honest.

- Local file added in a drawing placemark pop-up is saved to "files" subfolder when "Save as..." to the KMZ file. This is the piece that does not work, but I've narrowed it down slightly- This won't work over files of a certain size- I'm unsure if that is size in pixels or bytes..but adding a jpeg photo of size 4128x3096 pixels and 3,548 KB will not save the file into the 'Files' folder. No error or warning is given. Using a smaller file (1136x1958 pixels, 28KB) does work. Can you advise if there is a limit?

If creating a point, then attaching an image (file) via the 'Properties' popup, and then exporting that file the following happens: a) The output kmz does not include that image in the 'files' subfolder (after changing .kmz to .zip to inspect contents) and the size of the kmz reflects that (i.e. a few KB versus say, a couple of MB if including a photo) b) the doc.kml references the image, but that reference is incorrect. (i.e.![CDATA[ <img src='files/xxxxx.jpg'>]]. xxxx.jpg is not the original filename of the image and that file is not present in the files subdirectory. This is especially frustrating as this means I can't even write a python script to load the images or update the doc.kml (?!) Can functionality be added so that 1) Images are saved into exported KMZ (like Google Earth did) 2) That option is selectable between saving inline local files into KMZ and not (to avoid unwanted situations where inline images blow out the size of the kmz without the user realizing) KML/KMZ is a great format for commonly digested simple geodata- Clients are readily available and the format is well understood and symbology is included. By including local files, the user can package up a bunch of geo data and associated documents in one place. arcgis earth #arcgis earth; pop-up

Mike- Is there any update to this? I see the original blog post announcing cache resampling was made in 2014 and your post is a year old now too.
