Do your lines need to be split at regular intervals? For example, all of them need to be split in mile intervals?

If I understand your question correctly, usernames need to be unique, meaning there can be only one "cucinelli" username. If you have a personal account with the cucinelli username, you can invite that user to your organization, and he will then no longer have a personal account, he'll have an organizational account, but the above stays true, usernames need to be unique.

If you're adding data to your map from your My Content, you'll also need to make sure that the content in the map is set to the same sharing properties as the web map. If you share the web map with everyone or a certain group, but the content within the map is not shared, no one will be able to access the data within the map.

You can imbed one model within another, so that you can use more than one iterator. Setting preconditions will make sure that both iterators run before you do any further processing. Here's a resource that will help get you started.

The My Text tag will create superscripts, or exponents, in text elements but I'm not sure how that works in terms of being in a legend, as those values should be displayed from the values from the field you're symbolizing on.

What if you close the document you're working in, add the shapefile to a blank MXD and go into an edit session? Can you edit the shapefile then? Also, you can check if there's a lock on the shapefile, which would not allow you to edit it either. Close the ArcMap document that contains the shapefile and look in the folder that stores the shapefile. Is there a LOCK file? This would indicate that someone else may have this shapefile open in a document they're working on.

I'd suggest you look into this KB article to create a custom projection file for your data, (this process will work for any data, not just CAD as the title implies). Use the topo map as a reference to line up your shapefile data.

Would you like to remove it? I exported the metadata out of the feature class, and then imported it back into the feature class using the Metadata Importer tool and it removed the geoprocessing history.

Use Representations. 1) Store your data in a file geodatabase and then add it to a map. Right click on the layer and go to Convert Symbology to Representation. 2) Right click on your new layer representation and go to the Symbology properties. You'll see a new option for Representations. 3) By default, your symbolgy will be based on a Line. Below the line representation window is a pushpin with a plus sign. Click that to add a point marker symbol. 4) Remove the line representation and then change the Along line effect to the At extremeties effect. Now you can choose where you want the symbol to show up along the line, either at the beginning or end. Finally, change the symbol to an arrowhead.

Another thing you can do is use the R shortcut to create features with a specified radius; click on your template in the Create Features window, then the Circle construction tool, then click on the map to begin digitizing your feature. Press R on your keyboard and a prompt will appear that will allow you to enter a radius for your circle.

So those points that you have in your table are the points you'd like in your grid. How did you generate them? The values are decimal degrees, and using the Display XY function places them where they should go.

Ohhh sorry, I misinterpreted what you were saying. Why don't you use the Create Fishnet tool instead? ArcMap is just placing points in relation to where the coordinates are for those points. The fishnet tool will create a grid, and you can choose to have a template extent, (the boundary of the United States), and choose to create label points. I'm not sure how you need your grid to look or lay on the map, but the fishnet tool is what you should probably use.

The latitude and longitude values you have are in decimal degrees, so choose Geographic Coordinate System > World > WGS 1984 for the coordinate system when using the Display XY Events function.

Follow the below steps and see if that resolves your problem: 1) Insert the ArcGIS Desktop install media into you DVD/CD drive. 2) Go to Start/Control Panel/Add\Remove Programs 3) Click Change on ArcGIS Desktop. After the space requirement computation, you will have a new window with three options Modify/Repair/Remove. 4) Choose Modify and click Next. 5) Then on the next window, expand the extensions folder so that you can see all the extensions. 6) Find the maplex extension and click on the dropdown arrow. 7) Select the option "Entire feature will be installed on the local hard drive" 😎 Click Next, Next and let the installation complete, then open ArcMap/Tools/Extensions 9) Make sure that maplex has a check on the checkbox next to it.

can I just change the coordinate system in the data frame, add appropriate transformations, and save this as the State Plane version of the map? That'd be the easiest way to go about it; ArcMap will project the data on the fly.
