Hi Kelly, Thanks for taking the time to submit your suggestions and feedback! In the next release (mid-September) we'll be adding a lot more ways for contributors to choose a location including clicking anywhere on the map, dragging the current location to a new location, and reading the location from a geotagged photo. We're considering that for a future release, but likely not Sept. Currently you can find the web map in My Content (there is also a link to it in the Help panel) and edit it to change the basemap or add additional layers to provide context for your contributors. Cool idea -- we'll add that to our list of features to consider. We're working on this for a future release. For now here's a blog post that shares a way to customize the contribution form outside the builder. Owen

HI Jesse, Thanks for taking the time to send us feedback. I've noted your requests in our system. 1. We are planning to add a legend feature, but it will not be in the next release (September). See Can you add a legend to a map within a Cascade story map? for more info. 2. The ability to click-to-expand a photo is already in Cascade when you have a row with several images (hover over an image and click the plus sign in the lower right to add another image -- you can add up to four), but there are some issues with it. We would like to have this as well, but we have to rework the current image gallery code first. Owen

Hi Debby, If you created if from the Story Maps website then it should be in the home folder of My Content for whichever ArcGIS account you were signed in as when you launched the Cascade Builder. If you have lots of items your story may be on a later page. Try browsing the items on later pages or sorting your items by date to bring the newest ones to the top of the list. Owen

Hi Nora, Welcome to the Story Maps community! Sounds like the best app for you might be a Map Tour, so I would start there. Map Tour presents a bit of info about a place along with a photo and its location on a map. It will read geotags from your photos. You can upload your photos right to the map tour or put them on Flickr first and point to them from your map tour. Check out the link below to learn more and to build one. Story Map Tour | Story Maps Give it a try and let us know how it goes! Owen

Hi Richard, Video will start playing automatically if it is used in an immersive section, but a video that's inserted in-line in a sequential section doesn't so your readers will have to click to play it. You can add almost anything on the web to your story, so if you have a link to a live video stream or a trail cam you should be able to use it. When inserting media go to the Link to Content tab and paste in the web address of the page you want to use or the iframe embed code for what you want to embed. Owen

Hi Richard, When you enable autoplay mode the link changes, so if you always use that link or share it with someone else the story will open in autoplay mode immediately. Owen

Robert, I just noticed you also asked about adding coordinates. Our geocoder recognizes coordinates in the order longitude then latitude, so try reversing the coordinate values. We are looking to improve that experience in the next release by offering contributors that enter coordinates a suggestion to choose the location with the coordinate values swapped. Owen

DORIS, I believe this is due to a bug we are aware of that is present in the current beta version of Crowdsource. The bug is related to how the feature service is created. We are looking into this and should have a fix for it in the next release in September. Owen

Hi Richard, Most story map apps already have autoplay. You can read more about which ones and how to use it in this blog: What’s New in Story Maps (March 2016) | ArcGIS Blog Also, I'm curious to know what specific aspects of story map navigation you don't find intuitive. Would you be able to please provide a bit of detail so we can work to make improvements in the future? Owen

Hi John, If you have access to ArcGIS Desktop (or have a colleague that does) you can bring your historical map image into ArcMap, georeference it, publish it as a tiled service to ArcGIS Online, add the service to a web map, and use that web map in your Cascade story. Here are some examples of interactive historical maps used in story maps: http://arcg.is/1poYIQb http://arcg.is/1Hl6iTV Otherwise you could use an image zoom library (like this one, but there are lots out there you could evaluate) to host a simple web page that lets your audience zoom in and out on the image and add web page to your story. You'd need to be somewhat comfortable working with JavaScript and HTML to do this. Owen

Pierre, Also, image storage services that provide embed code that doesn't require a script should work in Cascade as well; so Giphy works, but Imgur does not (it requires JavaScript). Some services provide additional HTML tags in their embed code. Currently you have to manually remove any additional tags from the embed code to leave just the <iframe>. We'll look to improve that experience in a future release, but for now here's an example of what to do: For example, this is the embed code Giphy provides: <iframe src="//giphy.com/embed/9WqOLBW3KIBOM" width="480" height="370" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="http://giphy.com/gifs/9WqOLBW3KIBOM">via GIPHY</a></p> To get this to work in Cascade you'd just insert this: <iframe src="//giphy.com/embed/9WqOLBW3KIBOM" width="480" height="370" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe> Owen
