Hi Mark -- Could you or your admin please provide a little more information about your expectations and what is not working well for you? The Cascade app is responsive; however, some media types are not currently supported on mobile (such as 3D web scenes and videos on the cover or in immersive sections). There is also a known issue with with viewing embedded Cascades on iOS devices. We are looking at improving this in upcoming releases, but in the meantime you can take a look at this blog post, which describes a procedure to create and host a mobile-optimized version of your story.

Hi Letty -- It's great you are interested in using Story Maps at your workplace. As Panagiotis mentioned, if your workplace has stringent security requirements or you otherwise need to publish and manage geographic data and create web maps and story maps without being connected to the open internet, then you should look into deploying ArcGIS Enterprise (which includes ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS) to give you similar capabilities to ArcGIS Online, but hosted on your own infrastructure.

Hi Claudia, You are still able to create story maps using the Story Map Crowdsource app. If you've seen a message about a particular crowdsource story not accepting contributions that just means the author of that story has turned off contributions (that's an option in the story configuration settings). Thanks for your feedback. We'll consider those changes for future enhancements, but for now you could download the code and customize it to alter the app to do the things you suggest. Owen

Kristie -- Unfortunately, the header color is not configurable at this time. To change it you'd need to download the code, customize it's appearance and host it yourself. If you're interested in exploring this option we recently published an article about how to host your own story map.

Hi Kristie -- As you've determined, the ability to change the map symbols is not currently supported in Shortlist. However, all Esri's Story Map apps are open source, so you can download the code and customize it to make that modification. You can download the app code from GitHub, and here's an article with more information about customizing and hosting your own version of a Story Map. Owen

Hi Connor -- thanks for the screenshots. We can look into the issue with the pinch gesture on Android. However, I would advise against using background images with text that's so small that it needs to be enlarged to be read. This will not look good when the image initially loads and requiring your readers to zoom in on the images to read the text is not a good experience on a desktop, laptop, or mobile device. If there are charts or graphics from that report that you want to include in your Cascade story I would recommend taking screenshots of those elements (cropping out any text paragraphs) and including those as in-line images in narrative sections or panels. Sometimes charts/graphics can work as a background in an immersive section, but it depends on their layout. You just have to try yours to see (be sure to text on different screen sizes and devices). If there is text in the report that you want to use in your story just copy or transcribe it into your story (being sure to credit the source if it's not your own work). If you want your readers to see the full report, include a link to the PDF in your story. Typically it's good to put links to additional resources at the end of your story (possibly even in the Credits section) so you don't invite readers to leave your story before they've finished reading it. Stephen -- Unfortunately, there's no way to reuse a URL one a story has been deleted. Thanks, John, for mentioning delete protection. Enabling that for any important/high-profile story maps is a good practice. I'd also recommend enabling it for any map, scenes, and layers that appear in your public story maps so that the story components don't accidentally get deleted either.
