Hi Eric -- The embed bar shouldn't appear as long as you use the same domain for your embedded story and the parent story, for example www.arcgis.com or myorg.maps.arcgis.com. Can you give that a try and/or share a link to your story so I can take a look?

Sorry, I'm not sure about the configuration details for that app, but I'm sure someone in the ArcGIS Configurable Apps space could help.

Hi Frank -- You could create an app using the app template called "Compare" (it's available in the configurable app gallery), which allows you to add 2-4 maps in different frames. Once you create the app and share it with Everyone you can then embed it in the main stage of your story map. To do that just copy the link to your Compare app and add it to the main stage as "web page" media.

Malcolm -- Sorry you've run into an issue with pop-ups in your Story Map. I can easily reproduce the issue in the story you've shared here. Thanks for reporting this. We'll look into fixing it in an upcoming release.

Right, for the compiled app the sharingurl is in the config.js. It's right down there at the bottom of the file. The notes there indicate you need to update those values if you are hosting the story map app somewhere other than the portal web server. If your environment is unable to see the public internet you'll need to point your app to a local JSAPI. You can probably look at the other apps on your portal for the URL or this help topic might help. If you are unable to get it to work I'd suggest you contact Esri Support as they are much better equipped to help you troubleshoot disconnected deployments.

Christos -- Use a protocol neutral URL for the sharingurl, and don't forget the rest of it: .../sharing/rest/content/items There's an example in the comments of the index.html file that you can follow: //example.orgname.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items For an Enterprise portal it'd be: //[myportaldomain]/sharing/rest/content/items

Fred -- The date the Cascade story was created doesn't matter -- any Cascade story can be printed. The only requirements are that the story must be shared (to the org or with everyone) and the "Share" button in the header bar must not have been disabled by the author in the story settings.

OK great. Glad the information was helpful. Just to clarify, the differences you see are not related to the operating system (Windows vs Mac) -- it's related to the screen size, resolution, and browser window size of different computers. It's a good idea to test your story at a variety of window sizes/shapes and devices to make sure things look as expected. You can do this using Chrome developer tools (details here).

Hi Jennifer -- there is an area 50px tall at the top of the Cascade story that always appears under that black header /title bar. Currently, there's no way to prevent this overlap. To ensure that white area of your image doesn't appear underneath the header you can move it down more toward the center of the image or add space at the top of the image.

Hi Jennifer -- Sorry you are seeing differences in your Cascade story on different computers. This is somewhat expected since Cascade stories have a full-window format and screen dimentions, screen resolutions, and browser window aspect ratios can vary from computer to computer. Can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing? If you have a photo that has words or other elements that you do not want to be cropped out you have a few options: Use the image in-line in a narrative section as a SMALL or MEDIUM sized image If you are using the image as a background image, either use the focus point to ensure the important part of the photo isn't cropped out, or choose the Do No Crop option Below are screenshots of these three options. Let me know if these are helpful. In-line (small) Immersive background -- use blue focus point to mark the most important part of the image that you do not want cropped out Immersive background -- use "Do not crop" option

Hi Bradley -- Sorry you have been frustrated by the interaction settings for your embedded Story Map Series. Since Cascade is a scrolling web page we've been a bit conservative with how the mouse interaction works on embedded web pages (like a story map). Since the scroll might unexpectedly catch on a map or other scrolling area for readers, a click is required to initiate the interaction with embedded web content when viewing a story. However, in the most recent update to Cascade, we added an option you can use to adjust the interaction so that it behaves how you would like. This option is not available in builder at this time, but here's an article that shows you how to enable it. Let me know if this works for you.

Hi Ross -- Thanks for your question about using custom HTML. I don't think we'd whitelist those tags since unfortunately there are some security concerns with them. Additionally, they aren't supported in IE/Edge, so that would not be an ideal user experience for your readers. We have heard the request to have a small collapsible region in a story map from a few other people, so we can look at possibly providing something like that in the Builder in the future.

Hi Lea -- Sorry the Cascade builder is giving you trouble. Sounds like you are encountering a bug we've noticed in map configuration related to duplication of views. Sometimes if you have configured several views with the same map, duplicate one of those views, and then configure the new view the configuration of the previously configured views can be lost. To workaround this issue, avoid configuring a duplicate view after you have already configured the map in other views; instead, add the map to one view, duplicate that view as many times as you need, then configure the map in all the duplicated views. Alternatively, you can avoid duplicating altogether and just add a new view then manually add the same map as the view's background media. We plan to address this issue in the next release in September.
