Hi Stephanie -- Since you have lots of images and the number of images seems to vary for each location I would suggest trying this story as a Map Journal or even a Cascade. For Journal, you could add a map or postcard images to the main stage (the large area on the right). You could also add postcard images to the side panel. Clicking an image in the side panel will expand it for the reader. You could just make a simple map using a map notes layer so you can just click on the map to add locations for each photo rather than try to deal with GIS data formats (but that's fine too if you want to go that route). Cascade would also be a neat option too. Here's a great Cascade story about postcards that you might use for inspiration. Hope this was helpful!

Deepak -- If the search is hidden by the header you can add the app to a narrative section (as opposed to an immersive section). Choose a large size for the map if you want it to be the same size as it would be in an immersive section. If you need to provide your readers with a map search for a map in an immersive section there are several configurable apps with search widgets that you can create and add to your story map such as Map Tools or Web AppBuilder. The header bar in Cascade shouldn't hide the search bar with these apps (for Web AppBuilder, you may have to change the layout).

Hi Jeff -- Thanks for your feedback. We also really liked the ability to click to expand images in a gallery and understand it is something that some story map authors have requested. Unfortunately, we don't currently have a timeline on when we'll add this feature since our team is focused on other story map development priorities. For now, I would suggest using a medium- or large-sized image for any images that you'd like your readers to be able to view in an expanded format. I apologize that Cascade is not currently meeting your needs in this area, but I've made a note of your feedback in our system as we re-evaluate priorities frequently.

Hi Chris -- You can force the standard desktop-style layout to show even when the story is viewed on a mobile device by adding &forceDesktop to the end of the URL. Check out this article for more information. If you want to modify the app code to do this you can download it from Github and host it yourself. You'll need to turn off the mobile view check. For example, that check in Map Journal is around here in the core.js file.

Hi -- Could you provide a little more information about what you'd like to do? Are you looking to host a story map on your own web server, download a story onto a mobile device, or something else?

To highlight a feature on the map map you can pick Custom Configuration for your pop-up display settings. Choosing this will then let you pick a feature on the map to display when readers navigate to that section.

Hi -- Do you have your 3D data published to the web yet? If not, you should start over in the 3D Cities / Campuses or 3D Mapping places to learn how to create models and publish them to the web using ArcGIS Pro, CityEngine, and ArcGIS Online. Once you have your 3D scenes created then you can add them to your story map as described in the blog article I linked to above.

Hello -- Yes! You can use 3D web scenes in your story maps. Here's an article that describes how to do this in different story map builders: Using 3D web scenes in Story Maps And here are some examples of story maps that feature 3D: https://story.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=4c77a56bbcd743b69232cf3fd9c7a61c http://tpl.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=203d6527c9664917974931952449d8c1 https://fws.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=a0bc95ff336541aa8e0893ed7e0c7888 The Uprooted

Thanks for the extra info Bryan, I'll make a note of those use cases in our feedback system. In terms of superscripts, it's fairly easy to workaround not having superscript text for the situations you mentioned. You can use something like (1) for citation notes and there are several other common abbreviations for square feet like SF or sq. ft. that can be used.

Bryan -- Could you please let me know how you'd like to use super/subscript text formatting? It would be helpful if you could share a little more on how you'd like to adjust the font size (up/down?) and why. If you could share some additional information that would help us understand how you're using the Cascade Builder and the reasons behind your requests. Thanks!

Hi Bryan -- Sorry that Cascade doesn't yet provide all the customization options you are looking for. We have intentionally kept options minimal to keep the authoring experience simple, but we realize some authors want more and we're monitoring feedback we receive. We haven't had many requests specifically for super/subscript formatting, but we'll consider that for a future update. As far as the font size, there are a few font options to choose from in Settings > Appearance that have somewhat different sizes (Noto Serif is a bit larger than the other options), although I realize this is not the level of control you are looking for. Cascade is an open source app, so this means you can download the source code, modify it to make the customizations you want (such as changing the font size throughout), and host your version of the app. This would require some basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, but here's an article that describes that process if you are interested.

Hi Bryan -- Sorry you are running into issues; however, I think the solution is simple. Just remove some text from your very long subtitle, adjust the appearance, then add the text back. The cover media settings aren't something you need to change often, so I think that should be an easy workaround that you shouldn't have to use more than once or twice. Since you're just starting out I'd recommend taking a look at our gallery where we share lots of examples of great Cascade stories so you can get an idea of what makes a great story. For example from a readability perspective, I wouldn't recommend having a 7-line subtitle. 😕

Hi Jess -- Sorry you are having trouble getting your time animation to play in your Cascade story. Can you provide some more information to help us troubleshoot: Is the animation a video, an app, or some custom web page (if you can share a link to it here, that would be most helpful)? Can you also share a screenshot of the animation in your story so we can see how you are trying to add it?
