We have a separate simple point feature class outside of the fabric but edited along with the fabric that flags discrepancies. We add all relevant data to the points attributes then create a data driven pages projects that uses those points and the data to create a report for each point in pdf format. We then add those points to our web apps so users can display discrepancy points and click on them and see the report.

Well when I run a check fabric I get a bunch of errors for missing radial lines and some points that do not belong to a parcel or control point. Just seemed like that might clean some of that up. I wasn't sure if I would get other unexpected results though. Thanks!

Is it appropriate to run the Regenerate tool on your entire parcel Fabric? Would that produce any unexpected consequences?

I recieved an error when I copy and pasted this code. Type Mismatch. I had to change ([Category] = 0 OR [Category] = 5) to ([Category] = "Boundary Line" or [Category] = "Road Frontage" ) to get it to work.

I was just wondering how other people were managing water areas. We have many hundreds of lakes. Some very large and containing many islands covering multiple townships. Right now we have a Tax Parcel Polygon that for the most part is broken at the section level to fill the holes in the lakes. Those polygons have a parcel Id of "WATER". I know there is something to be said for having contiguous data with no holes but this seems to be adding hundreds of thousands of points/lines in our fabric. Also, because of the complexity of the lakes it is difficult to merge each lake into 1 polygon. Does everyone fill the water areas with a parcel type that follows the shoreline? Are there advantages/disadvantages to doing it one way or the other?

Thanks Amir! Our county manages a Block Parcel Type. We have talked about getting rid of it in favor of the Block designator field but as of now its in there. With the new mxd I'm setting up with the Information Model enabled do you recommend just creating a lyr file and adding block Type like I did in the Past? Any discussions about adding that parcel type to the model? We also have a Quarter Quarter Parcel type assigned with a value of 12. I updated the Definition query in the Cadastral Framework sublayer to include 12 but am not sure I like them all in the same group. It definitely makes scale dependancies tough and working with individual parcel types is a little different. Are there any issues with creating layer files for them and Separating them out and then not using the "Cadastral Framework" sublayer in the Parcel Fabric Group? Also, I think we are going to have 2 feature linked annotation classes. One for Tax Parcels and one for Platted Lots. What is the best workflow for bringing them into the model. I don't remember being able to choose 2 when I enabled the model. Is it a bad idea to have 2 Annotation Feature Classes? We manage Railroad ROW in Encumbrances. The Model has road ROW in the Domain for encumbrance type but we have to add Railroad. Any thought of adding this to the model or should I be representing those in a different way?

I am in the process of enabling the Land information model on our Parcel Fabric. I have always used my own editing mxd set up how I was used to editing. Are most people enabling the Info Model on their current project and continuing to use the same domains and Symbology and such or starting a new project and adding the Land Information Model enabled fabric to it and customizing from there? I see it is a little different from the TaxParcelEditingMap.mxd. Also, it adds all new domains with a lr prefix. Should those be edited, or just rename our existing domains with the lr prefix? Is there a way to reorder the Fabric Sublayers in the Parcel Fabric group Layer? I am probably just overlooking something simple but I can't seem to change the order. I want to display the Tax Parcels above the Cadastral Framework.

I am setting up feature linked annotation to our Lots in the Parcel Fabric. When I select a couple lots and use the annotate parcel courses tool for some reason not all annotation for all lines show up. Sometimes it seems random based on my lot selection which ones are annotated. When I open up the attribute table for the Annotation layer there is records for all of the annotation but the unplaced ones have null values. The status field says placed and the AnnotationClassId field is populated based on the annotation class but all other fields are null. I checked the convert unplaced labels to annotation check box as well. Has anyone else experienced this or know what might be causing this?

I was noticing around cul de sacs and on most curves on our data that the curves have been broken into many segments. I have tried the merge courses tool without much luck. Has anyone else dealt with this? Is there a way of getting back to 2 point curves without pulling everything out of the fabric and using the Curves and lines tool and then loading back into the fabric? Would that help? Would it be worth it?

I was wondering what people are doing for feature templates in the parcel traverse grid while working with a parcel fabric. Specifically the CartoLineType field. Is there a way to populate the CartoLineType field based on your polygon template for parcel type or do you have to set up templates for the polygon types and templates for the line parcel types as well and choose both in the grid?

If you have a ROW polygon you don't need connection lines. You already have a connection. The lines would be for areas where there is no polygon for the row. The lower number or higher accuracy you assign to parcels the less that they will adjust during an adjustment.
