Hi Brad, I work with Tom, and we've been looking at the issue. What you're seeing is most likely due to any indents set on the legend items. Legend items are given an automatic indent of 5 pts. This is easy to see if the legend title is turned on. Setting the indent to 0 may be helpful in your case. We are looking at removing the automatic indent, and improving the aligning experience for items with borders and gaps in future releases of ArcGIS Pro. I hope this helps. Cheers, Aubri Kinghorn

Hi, In ArcGIS Pro there are 2 ways to set the color based on an attribute. You can link the color of a symbol to an field using attribute-driven color, or you can vary symbology by color. These help topics explain how to set these up, and what situations each works best for. Attribute-driven color: Attribute-driven color in symbology—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Vary symbology by color: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/vary-symbology-by-color.htm Cheers, Aubri

Unfortunately, I don't think an Arcade expression can get the result you want. The Arcade expression for dynamic text is applied to each individual row, it can't read through all the rows in the table and aggregate them. To do that, you'd need to manipulate the data so the table column listed all the pages with a McDonalds. The Summarize tool might be able to do that, although I'm not sure.

Ah, okay I think I understand now. I can make this work, as long the page number is stored in the polygon class I want to report on (in your case, restaurants). To do that I ran an intersect of the polygon and the grid index: Then, using the new feature class for the polygon area containing the grid number I inserted Value Dynamic Text showing Visible Rows with this Arcade expression: $feature.City_Name + "... " + $feature.PageName + TextFormatting.NewLine That worked for me, I got the names to update on every page in the map series. Note: If you use TextFormatting.NewLine to show each restaurant on a new line, be sure that your Delimiter is cleared. It defaults to a space, which throws off the alignment for the new lines.

This sounds like it might be a good case for the new custom grids (Custom grids—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation) available in Pro 2.6. If you create a grid feature class for the entire map area using the Grid Index Features tool (Grid Index Features (Cartography)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation) you can use a custom grid to draw the reference grid labels on your map. Custom grids use existing line or polygon features as the grid lines, then let you label the grid outside of the map frame using a column in the feature or an Arcade expression. Using a custom grid, I was able to create this alpha numeric grid: Cheers, Aubri K

Hi Branislav Blagojevic, The raw geologic data is from the state of New Mexico RGIS clearinghouse. You can find it here: Browse rgis data under New Mexico Geologic Formations. I symbolized the data using the Geology24K style from here: https://esri-styles.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=96f711a17b824752b2521699c0722933 I hope this helps. Cheers, Aubri

Hi! With the new Export Pane in Pro 2.5 your settings are remembered after you export a layout. So if you export one layout without a transparent background, next time you go to export (in that project, or a different project) that option will be checked off.

Hi! It sounds like you might be using the wrong kind of text element. There are two types of text: point text (which will resize automatically to match the box you drew) and paragraph text (the box size stays the same, and lines of text wrap to new lines automatically to fit). This help topic explains the two types and shows you what the icons are so you can pick the right one. Add graphics, text, and pictures—Layouts | Documentation I hope this helps! Cheers, Aubri

While there isn't a way to calculate statistics and have them display automatically in the legend, you can use table dynamic text to calculate statistics dynamically. You can then position this text anywhere on the layout, including near or on top of the legend. Learn more about table dynamic text here: Add dynamic text—Layouts | ArcGIS Desktop

Intriguing. I'm glad you were able to take advantage of layout files, but that's odd that it doesn't work on the first one. Weird. I'll keep an eye out for that and see what we can do. Thanks!

Hi, You found a bug! The emptyStr tag should work in this case. We'll look at fixing this in a future release of ArcGIS Pro. Unfortunately the only workaround I can think of in the meantime is to update your data to change your nulls to 0, which I know isn't always an option. Cheers, Aubri K

Hi Levi, To get the result you want, you want to use Table Statistic dynamic text instead of Table Attribute. This type of dynamic text allows you to pick a field within your data to calculate a statistic on. You can refine the calculation to use All Rows, Visible Rows, Map Series Rows, or a Custom SQL query. You can then add additional static text to your text element, instead of using Concatenate. This help topic Add dynamic text—Layouts | ArcGIS Desktop has some more information on Table Statistic and Table Attribute dynamic text types and when to use each. Cheers, Aubrianna
