Hi Praveen, Back to you... 1. Correct, having a NAICS code and/or description would be helpful. If searching for keyword only, for example, I can type in "coffee" and it will select only those with coffee in the name, but would not select a "Starbucks". Ultimately I'd like a user who is not familiar with the data be able to extract something in an intuitive manner. 2. In my template the default is one colour for different businesses (all red). I was able to follow your instructions in the "add other layers" option to then change the colours for my different tables. However there is no "Add points to map" option when trying to edit the variables of an existing table - this only shows up when creating a new table. It would be helpful to have an option of including/excluding the points on a map from an existing table. Also, in my test I use 4 tables and created 4 separate colours, but when I did so all the business tables are named "Businesses", so it's not obvious which applies to which. Further when I clicked Display Legend no legend appeared on my map. 3. A business dropdown (or NAICS description) would be helpful to have. This seems related to the first question above. Thanks again, Kieran

Hi Praveen, Just a few thoughts on the new Nearby function. 1. Is there scope to adjust the filter in the live infographic so that the end user can use a dropdown list (e.g. naics codes and descriptions or the same one that is in the original dropdown); searching for a keyword looks to be too open-ended (especially if the user is unfamiliar with the data). It would be nice to see a filter that can incorporate the values being searched (e.g. searching unique values). 2. It's normal for us to check more than one type of business when assessing a site, so I created a test infographic with four reports with a single map showing the results. However the map shows all the results in the same colour. Separate colours would help, as would a title for each result table so the user knows what each one is trying to show (because these can’t be configured by the user, only by an author in advance). 3. When editing a Nearby table, it isn’t possible to reset the filters, which I would like to have as an option. For example when creating a Nearby table there is a dropdown filter list (popular business type). The main reason I ask about this is because it would be much easier to use an existing report as a template for different categories. Otherwise I have to create the Nearby panel from scratch, and I’m using the free-form panel so it makes getting the table and column sizing, text size/type etc a bit of a process if I have to keep starting from scratch. Overall it's great to see these kind of improvements. Thanks Kieran

This thread below originated here: https://community.esri.com/ideas/15092-create-four-site-radiusdrivetimes-in-business-analyst-onlineweb-app?commentID=637… I've noticed that my US report (customised from Esri report) contains a summary (e.g. "In the identified area, the current year population is X." I find these summaries a bit pointless because they only refer to the data in the first band. I'd like to see these removed or customised to reflect data from each band. Almost always my bands are not difference-based (e.g. I need 0-1, 0-3, 0-5 etc) when calculating the totals. However in my output report that shows the data for all 3 bands in different columns, as seen below. But the text refers to only one "identified area" (which is not specified) and then the numbers are given for only one band. I feel there should be text for all the bands or none at all. If I pass this report on to someone else it's not really intuitive for them as it stands. I'm guessing the text is just taking data from whatever is in the first band (I've heard of the same behaviour in the mobile Quick Facts data). if additional text can easily fit into the template (too much text would be counter-productive). Also interested to know if this would be specifically for US or can apply to other countries (I work primarily with Canadian data).dbuhr-esristaff SPrindle-esristaff businessanalyst #bao web app

Hi Praveen Thanks for letting us know. I've had a quick look and it is encouraging so far, this seems very useful. A couple of things I noticed though, firstly can the text in the output table be edited (i.e. change size, font?). And when I ran my first site I chose "Day Care" from the popular list drop down and yet I found many other business types (restaurants) in my output. Is this expected? Kieran

Hi Donna, Thanks for your reply and further questions. Firstly, yes the 4-ring option (or more - particularly with drivetimes I sometimes have a need for several ranges up to around 60 minutes). It would be a nice enhancement. As for the other request, almost always my bands are not difference-based (e.g. I need 0-1, 0-3, 0-5 etc) when calculating the totals. However in my output report that shows the data for all 3 bands in different columns, as seen below. Thanks. Kieran

Mostly I run sites in Canada but this applies generally. I want to run a radius analysis around a location for four distance rings. I can only select up to three. I know I workaround this (run 3, create report then repeat for 4th band) but it doubles report creation which I think is unnecessary. Further, I've noticed that my US report (customised from Esri report) contains a summary (e.g. "In the identified area, the current year population is X." I find these summaries a bit pointless because they only refer to the data in the first band. I'd like to see these removed or customised to reflect data from each band. PSrivastava-esristaff Thanks Kieran #businessanalyst #bao web app PS Further to this, I realised that although I can create a report using a workaround, it's not exactly straightforward to create a map of all the radii. In this case I'll use my desktop ArcMap but not everyone would have this option.

It's particularly frustrating when trying to share the data, as many records become ambiguous (incomplete address, incomplete postcode) which makes geocoding more difficult and the data is not especially useful to my colleagues without more detailed information.

I wonder if anyone has noticed the same problem I have with BAO, where I create a list of businesses but when exporting them out they have their address number and street type missing.Praveen Srivastava# I've just logged this with Support as well.

Hi Praveen, Well the ideal option would be to replicate what is available for a US location, but I think the minimum of most useful info would be daytime population and average household income. Things like households, education and any growth indicators (e.g. pop growth %) are handy. It's nice to see the dominant Tapestry data (PRIZM in Canada) and some spending information. An ethnic background variable (e.g. visible minority) would also be good to have. Thanks Kieran

I notice that when using the BA mobile app there is a massive difference between the Key Facts available for Canada vs USA. I'd really like to see more data for Canada available as key facts. It's very limited as it stands now and has not really excited anyone in our office (generating reports isn't always an ideal option). Thanks Kieran

Hi Praveen Unfortunately I can't get a screenshot for you as it's on my phone. But I understand that it would likely be because these are vector basemaps (or other custom web maps). Although I think I could create separate groups for raster and vector basemaps it still would be an issue with who I share the maps with. I'm exploring what's available and want to take advantage of it but if much is either in beta (e.g. mapstyler) or doesn't work in certain apps like mobile or ArcGIS for Office, Adobe etc then they're not worth using. You've probably seen some of my mapstyler and other experimental content that I currently have in our organisation account. Thanks Kieran

I have the BA mobile app on my Android device and would like to be able to choose different basemaps. When selecting the Basemaps menu, all of my basemaps are visible within the list, whether they are Esri standard basemaps, vector tile-based basemaps or even some I created with mapstyler. However, most of them are unaccessable and there is no indication given to the user that the basemap has a problem. Either the basemap does not change or I just get a grey screen. I would like to be able to access any basemap for use in the app, but failing that (or if this is a long-term implementation) at the very least there should be a way of screening out all the basemaps that aren't going to work. For my colleagues this is going be a problem (they are not GIS literate) not knowing what basemaps are working and which ones aren't. Thanks Kieran
