Many thanks all. I did just what you suggested and something went wrong with my browser and I lost the draft of my question. I'm at work now so I can't spend time right now re-doing this post, but I'll try to send a reply with a new question over the weekend. Many thanks to you all for replying so quickly. We have a great community here and it is a direct result of all of your quick replies, ideas and responses. Thank you

Unfortunately, none of these answers worked for me, as I wanted an auto increment identifier based on multiple fields. As such I am now exporting the table to Excel where I can perform the calculation on a field that has been sorted by multiple fields. After all these years, why isn't this functionality built-in to the field calculator tool for both ArcMap and ArcPro?

Used to be that we could simply multiply the text as a number by 1 so 000012 x 1 = 12 Trying to find out what this might look like today from within ArcPro is up to you

Thank you very much for the reply Michael, I did try that to no avail. However, I noticed from previous threads I reviewed to look at the spatial index. In my situation this time, the 'Rebuild Index' option from the item's description was not available and although it would let me access the button, it would not allow me to rebuild the index. This then led me to try another method from AGO where I create a new layer and import the data and/or schema from the layer that is currently not cooperating. I had not previously attempted to create a layer from AGO and was surprised at the level of abilities there was available to do this. I created a new layer from AGO and based the schema from the exiting data at creation and then imported the data into the resultant data shell. This process so far has worked very well for me in my current situation and I am now able to add the 1033 lines contained from within the created in AGO data layer, to the map and have it displayed correctly, without the dreaded orange triangle-"the layer did not draw completely".

I am now researching a very similar issue as the one posted here, but with 1030 line features. I did all of the suggested steps (optimize, check geometry) and it still will not draw. I am wondering, although the 'check geometry' tool did not find any errors, should I attempt to run the 'repair geometry' tool anyway? That is what I'm going to try next, but if anyone can think of anything else on this, I'd be grateful for your advice.

Although ESRI offers fantastic training courses, sometimes I must supplement my professional development outside of work and fund training for myself. I found this course from Udemy on sale for $12.99, down from $200, https://www.udemy.com/share/100s6UB0MYcV9UQXo=/ ArcPy for Python Devlopers using ArcGIS Pro by Graeme Browning. So far this is a great course and for $13 bucks you cannot beat the price (well, maybe you could perhaps;)

Thank you Dan Moore it seems that this is an unavoidable limit if you are only using ArcGIS Online and the solution or workaround involves the need for hosting your own ArcGIS Server. Below is from the link you provided, I remain grateful for all of your effort, cheers! " Cause There is no limitation on the maximum size of a web map that can be downloaded for offline use in Collector for ArcGIS. However, the size of the basemap that is exported with the web map can reach a limit which can cause the download to fail. Basemap services are configured by default to prevent the export of more than 100,000 tiles. Depending on the work area and the map detail defined for the basemap, this limit can be reached when downloading a web map for offline use. Solution or Workaround The maximum count of tiles that can be exported for download cannot be modified on ArcGIS Online Basemap Services. However, when basemaps or cached map services are hosted locally with ArcGIS Server, this parameter can be increased using the ArcGIS REST API. For more information, refer to the following documentation, ArcGIS REST API: Export Tiles. "

We are using ESRI world imagery within our webmap that was made available for offline download, consistent with the link you provided. When we do this, we are limited to about a 1Gb download of the map file or we err.

Thank you for the replyDan Moore I am grateful to communicate with you on this issue. Unless I've missed something, this is exactly what I attempted to do and was still limited to right around 1Gb. Is there a procedure to "sideload a basemap" that I'm missing or something? I attempted to increase the area and detail of the downloadable basemap to the additional memory device. Any thoughts on what I'm missing here or, is this a hard limit on the download file? Many thanks again

Its doesnt seem like there is away to do this, but I was able to generate and download a map that was almost 1Gb in size on disk. However, there does not see to be a way to adjust the allowable limits of Collector, at least not that I have found to this point anyway. Love to hear any further information on this, if anyone knows anything more, I'll be grateful to hear. Thanks much

Is there a way to increase the available download size and area from within Collector to avoid being halted with "Reduce level of detail or extent"? I have got additional micro SD memory for my Samsung Galaxy Tab A in order to download a large area at a high detail, but it seems to throw this message whenever my area and detail level are above ~850Mb. Is there a way to increase the available download size to be say, 3Gb?
