Hi Tim Ultee, Based on the screenshot, it looks like you're using the World Geocoding Service, is that correct? Even though the result comes back as a tie, if the correct candidate was chosen, that should be the point displaying on the map, so you shouldn't have much to worry about there. However, you can go into the geocode result's attribute table and change the value in the Status column from "T" to "M" to register this as a match instead of a tie. Additionally, with ArcGIS Pro 2.4 there will be additional settings on the Rematch Addresses pane, including options to Unmatch, Auto Rematch, and Match All Selected. I just tested the same input you are working with (City=Rochester, State=New York), and while this comes back as a Tie, if you select the record in the attribute table and then hit Match All Selected, it will change the record from a Tie to a Match (Status value will change from U to M): Looks like you could also hit Unmatch (icon with the red back arrow) to unmatch it, and then hit Match (icon with green check mark) which will set this as a match instead of a tie. I hope this helps! Eric

Hi Brendan, Can you share any specifics about the workflows or tools you use in ArcGIS Pro where you notice its slow? Where is your data stored? Locally? On a network drive? Have you checked the System Requirements page to make sure your machine is optimal? Best regards, Eric

For Laura or anyone else hitting this issue: It may be good to check to see if your ArcGIS Online account is configured with HTTPS. Recently worked with a colleague on this issue and it was determined that the ArcGIS Online account they were signing in with was configured with HTTP only. Once we flipped the switch for HTTPS, the World Geocoding Service now showed up in ArcGIS Pro when signing in. Cheers, Eric

Hi Tim, That certainly is some odd behavior, but I'm glad to hear that re-installing the software has resolved these issues for now. The fact that your colleague was able to geocode the table and bring up the pop-ups tells me it wasn't an issue with the input tables anyways and most likely something with your install of ArcGIS Pro or your machine. If the issue returns, it may be good to test on another user profile on the same machine as well. If you notice the issue return and you'd like us to investigate this a little more thoroughly, I definitely recommend you open up a case with Esri Support. Best regards, Eric

There is a defect logged for this when used in a script tool: BUG-000119907: The Apply Symbology From Layer tool (arcpy.ApplySymbologyFromLayer_management) does not work if used in a Python script from the toolbox in ArcGIS Pro 2.3. Please contact Esri Support if you wish to be attached to this defect so you can track its status. -Eric

Hi Tim van Asperen So just to clarify your workflow, you batch geocode a table of addresses using the World Geocoding Service, and then attempt to left-click on one of the geocoded features but no pop-up appears. Is that correct? It would be expected that simply left-clicking on an empty space in the basemap (without any features underneath) would not do anything, but clicking on one of your features should definitely bring up the pop-up. Have you tested with multiple sample tables? If its specific to one table, are you able to provide this to us? If you remove the geocoded results from the map and re-add them, are you able to open the pop-ups? Do you see this issue with layers that have not been geocoded? The issue with the "What's Here?" right-click function is certainly odd as well. Introduced in 2.3, this now shows a dotted line connecting where you right-clicked on the map, and where the address is actually located in the real world. Clearly its not expected the real life feature is off the map like in your screenshot. Can you reproduce this when using the "What's Here?" function in other parts of the world as well? -Eric

Hi Carl Sack One of the times I saw this issue (World Geocoding Service not appearing in Locate pane), we determined it was because the user had their organization URL set up as the active portal (e.g. "https://ess.maps.arcgis.com"). Once we switched this to the general ArcGIS Online portal ("https://www.arcgis.com"), it was resolved. You might want to give that a shot. In regards to the Rematch Addresses issue, this one has me stumped. What version of the software are you on? Might be good to upgrade to 2.3 if you haven't already. Also, are you using a custom locator or the World Geocoding Service here? Can you reproduce the issue if you geocode the same table again with the same locator? What about with different locators or different input tables? I'd recommend you reach out to Esri Support if you're still having trouble with this, and we'd be happy to help you get back up and running! -Eric

Hi Carl Sack Have you ensured that the World Geocoding Service is listed in your ArcGIS Online's utility services? You can check this by navigating to arcgis.com > Organization > Settings > Utility Services. Can you try adding the service directly and see if this works? Add an ArcGIS Server Connection using the following Server URL (Insert ribbon > Connections > New ArcGIS Server): http://geocode.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services In the Locate pane, open the Settings tab Select the "Add a Locate Provider" button and choose "Add Locator" Navigate to the Server connection and select the World geocoder. -Eric

At this point it would probably be good to get in contact with one of the Administrators of the ArcGIS Online account you are using to sign into ArcGIS Pro with and ensure: You have a role with the "Geocoding" permission (most of the default roles will have this permission turned on, really only applies if your organization is utilizing custom roles) The ArcGIS World Geocode Service has been added to your organization settings Log into arcgis.com with Administrator credentials Organization tab > Settings > Utility Services If you don't see ArcGIS World Geocode Service listed, add it via "Add Locator"

Thanks Nasser, so just to confirm, when you right-click the table > Geocode Table, and it opens the Geocode Table pane, you don't see an option for the "ArcGIS World Geocode Service" in the Input Locator drop-down? Can you confirm what Active Portal you are using in ArcGIS Pro? If you go the blue "Project" button in the very top-left corner of ArcGIS Pro and hit the "Portals" tab, ensure that "https://www.arcgis.com/" is set as the active portal and this is the one you are signed in with. If you needed to switch to this portal from something else, it'd be good to restart Pro after changing it to re-load the locators. -Eric

Hi Nasser, Using some of the sample addresses you provided put into a CSV file, they geocode fine on my end using ArcGIS Pro 2.1.1 and the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service (6/6 matches, no error). Some follow up questions to maybe narrow this down: Can you test with the same sample table I did and let me know if its successful? If the sample table is successful, we can turn our focus more towards your actual input table (and I'd maybe need a copy of that). If not, we can focus on other things NasserTest.csv - Google Drive Are you connected to ArcGIS Pro using ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS? Are other usernames in your organization able to successfully geocode from ArcGIS Pro using the World Geocode Service? Do you have enough credits in your organization to geocode all the addresses (again, 40 credits per 1,000 addresses)? Where are you saving the output to? Try switching it up and see if anythings successful (network drive vs local drive, shapefile vs file geodatabase). Also including a screenshot of my tool parameters just in case something jumps out at you (output location is the default ArcGIS Pro project file geodatabase): -Eric

Hi Nasser, The fact that you are using a portal locator named "US Address" tells me you are not using a locator service provided by Esri. Most likely, this is a user-created geocode service published to ArcGIS Server and then hosted in your Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online account. Are you not the one who published this geocode service? Do you have access to the geocode service URL you can provide me to test with? What happens when you use the World Geocode Service? (although as Robert noted, this consumes ArcGIS Online credits at a rate of 40 credits per 1,000 addresses). Let me know! Eric
