I am trying to develop a basic web app that shows a map with some natural hazards layers and generates a report for the user. Ideally, the app would allow the user to do the following steps: 1. Search and zoom to their address 2. Calculate the distances to the closest hazards to their property (within user defined buffer) 3. Display the distances to those hazards on the map 4. Output the map and results into a basic report I've tried using the Situation Awareness widget in WebApp builder which can successfully complete steps 1, 2 and 4 (have to do print of map and report separately). However, the results bar that is generated from the widget does not display the distances to the hazard layers. It only displays the configured attributes from the pop-up window. I've also tried using the Incident Analysis widget in WebApp building. It can complete steps 1-3. I can use the Print widget to print the map, but the Incident Analysis widget does not have the report functionality to export the results. Lastly, I've tried using ESRI's My Hazard Information app from the Emergency Management solution. It has a custom hazard app which seems to be similar to the Near Me widget in WebApp builder. It also can complete steps 1-3 but also does not have a report functionality. Again, I can use the Print widget to print the map, but it does not have a report functionality to report out the distance results with the map. Does anybody have any other ideas on how I can display the distance results on the map as well as export into a report using an AGOL product? Ideally the report would include a screen shot of the map and the hazard attributes including the distance.

The ESRI technical analyst had me recreate a new ArcGIS Pro project, new file geodatabase, and rerun my geoprocessing tool. When I published the new data in AGOL, it worked. So it appeared something got corrupt in my existing ArcGIS Pro project or file geodatabase. Perhaps you could try that too.

I contacted ESRI technical support. They suspect it may be a bug. However, the work around is to combine my individual point feature classes into one new feature class and then publish that to my AGOL content. After I did this, the points show up in my web map and story map at all scales. The original points were created using the Mean Center tool in ArcGIS Pro. So we aren't sure if it has something to do with that tool. Also, after further investigation, the original points do show up if you zoom all the way in to the point. So they are not honoring the scale level set in the web map. If we find out the root cause, I will post so others know.

Hi Lauren, I created a brand new map and added that to the existing story map. The data appeared in the story map. However, once I closed out of the story map and reopened it, then the data disappeared. I created a brand new series story map and used the new map. Again, the data appeared in the story map until I closed out and reopened. I created a copy of the existing map and re-added the point data. It still did not work in the existing story map or test story map. The data doesn't have filters in the map and changing the symbology doesn't make the data appear. The other data in the map shows up in the story map. So it appears to be an issue with the point data. I tried deleting the data and republishing to AGOL and the same issues occur. I'll log a case with tech. support because I am stuck. Thanks, Molly

Hi Owen, Unfortunately, I can't share the map and story to everyone. It contains sensitive client information that falls under HIPAA.

Hi Lauren, I used the classic series template to create the story map. I don't get any errors like inaccessible layers. And yes, I tried using Firefox and the problem still persisted. Thanks for your input! Molly

I have some point feature services that are stored in my content in AGOL. The feature services show up in my web map, but they don't show up in my Story Map series that references the web map. They show up in the legend in the story map but not the map itself. The data, map, and app are shared to the same internal group. I've tried clearing my cache and using different browsers and the problem still persists. I tried deleting the feature service and re-publishing and the problem still exists. I've tried changing the symbology in my web map and the problem still exists. I can't figure out how to get the points to show up in the story map. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Hi Rupert, Is there a way to combine the entry parameter (for the tabbed series) with the index parameter (for a tour stop) in the same URL? I have 5 story map tours that are embedded into the tabbed series. I'd like to link to the specific tab and then the specific tour stop within that tab. I tried writing my URL like this but it only opens to the specific tab - it does not include the tour stop: http://bouldercounty.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=5c7f59623d7d445cb45b34293b43bbb6&entry=3&index=2

I recreated the model and specified a field length in the add field tools and now it works properly when using ModelBuilder. Perhaps the original model got corrupt in some way. Thanks for the suggestion to specify the field length.

I am having a problem getting my survey title centered when viewing the survey in a web browser. I've tried it in multiple browsers and it looks the same in all browsers. I've cleared the cache and removed cookies and this does not help either. The survey title is offset to the right. I played around with the survey settings in my excel spreadsheet by using the <center> or <H2> formatting in the form_title field, but they do not change the position of the title. When I view the survey in the desktop Survey123, it is centered. Does anybody know how to get the title centered when viewing in a web browser?

Hi Michelle, Yes, the fields used in the field calculator are generated using the ModelBuilder model. I did not specify a field length in the "Add Field Tool" originally in the model. I changed the field length to 255 in the model and ran it. The field with the custom expression now writes the entire string, however, the field with the simple expression still only writes the first letter. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've read through the "Share Survey Results" and "Getting Started with Public Surveys" blogs but still can't quite configure my survey and associated survey feature layer to meet our needs. We have a survey that will be used by both internal staff and the public to report animal and human evacuations during emergencies. So the survey needs to be shared to everyone and publicly available. However, the results of the survey that are stored in the survey feature layer are sensitive and cannot be shared with anyone outside of our internal staff group. I have shared the survey to everyone from the AGOL item contents page and also adjusted the settings under the configuration tab in Survey123. I allowed anyone to submit data and only those in our internal staff group to view the results of the survey. I also adjusted the editing permissions for the survey feature layer under its item details page so that only those in our internal group can edit the data. However, I do not want to apply the setting that "editors cannot see any features, even those they add" because the deputies in the field need to access the survey feature layer in collector in order to update attributes related to the evacuation request. If I share the survey to everyone - but not the survey feature layer - then the survey is not accessible unless the user is signed in to AGOL. How can we publish our survey publicly without having the survey feature layer shared publicly?

I am using ArcGIS Pro 2.4 and have a model that has several steps to automate a process. The model executes as expected with no errors. However, the field calculator tools do not run as expected. The field calculator tool is used to fill in a field called "Layer Name" with a basic string in quotes - like "Tornadoes." It is also used to calculate another field called "Wildfire Hazard" with a custom Python expression to reclassify integers into text. The expressions is: def Reclass(Mean): if (Mean < 2): return "Low" elif (Mean >= 2 and Mean < 3): return "Moderate" elif (Mean >= 3 and Mean < 4): return "High" elif (Mean >= 4): return "Very High" When I run the field calculator manually with the basic string and the custom expression, it works. However, when it runs in the model it only writes the first letter of the string in both fields. The geodatabase name where the data is stored does not have any spaces or special characters. Does anybody know why the field calculator won't write the entire expression when used in ModelBuilder?
