@OwenGeo we wanted to give you the update on BugHerd...We've been talking with the developers, and it does look like it could be an excellent tool for the editing workflow we mentioned, however, we're running into a glitch to keep it from functioning in StoryMaps. Apparently, the Content Security Policy (CSP) for ArcGIS StoryMaps is restricting its use. The solution according to BugHerd is to add a series of domains (see article) We have an open ticket with ESRI (Case #02824627), but it seems to be pretty slow moving. Any thoughts on bypassing that CSP? Note that we do not self host, and don't wish to. Also of note, BugHerd does appear to work for other apps such as Experience Builder and Dashobards. Thanks!

Hi Nate, No!! I never did figure out what was going on and no one here on Geonet responded. I ended up taking down the embedded content entirely and put in an image with link. It opens a new window (which was what I was trying to avoid with the embedded content), but it's better than having no donate button at all for the project! Let me know if you get something figured out and good luck! We have a (classic version) of an Operations Dashboard with an embedded content that is down - and I can't troubleshoot as to why. The webpage of the embedded content is fine (https://bluewatergis.com/sponsor-a-fish-and-or-tributary/) and even www.google.com and www.esri.com web addresses give the same error, so I feel like it's something with the dashboard side (versus our embedded web page). It's unfortunately a very important piece of the dashboard - as it's the client's DONATE button! Any thoughts are greatly appreciated and the live link is here: https://montanatu.org/race-up-rock-creek/ Thank you! Katie Blue Water GIS www.BlueWaterGIS.com

Thanks Owen! We have embedded the classic template, but due to the limited configuration options in those older web applications, it looks a bit clunky and out of place. We've also tried the web app builder spy glass tool as well, but again, it isn't quite as 'clean and polished' as we would like. We will keep experimenting with options that may work better for our client. Thanks again Owen! Katie - Blue Water GIS - www.BlueWaterGIS.com

Hi Owen, Thanks so much for the reply! The printing/conversion to a word doc to allow for a track changes editing process is not ideal - as when changes are then made to the StoryMap, the word doc is immediately out of date. Ideally, your thought of a built-in commenting/text editing feature that allows our editors to provide input to the text without giving them editing privileges to the StoryMap components would be ideal. Here is an option we've just found that may be a great option until ESRI has something internally: Bugherd (https://bugherd.com/). This allows clients to send us edits/comments/text edits with a tag on the location in the StoryMap. It's not perfect, but it seems like a better option than we've been using in the past. I'd love to keep continuing the conversation, Owen, to help ESRI design a comment/text editor solution as I'm sure we're not the only users experiencing this difficulty. As we work through our next StoryMap project this summer we will try this BugHerd option and I'm sure will have more refined feedback for your team then. Thanks again! Thanks for the reply Bryan! Yes, we have seen the other posts. Currently, that’s the best workflow we’ve found (my second option above where we would print the SM, then convert to a word doc). As you mentioned, the formatting often became pretty garbled and it’s hard to see elements associated to the text. We will be looking forward to an update from Owen. Thanks Bryan!

Has anyone found a good way to efficiently edit and track changes on the text within a story map for multiple editors OUTSIDE of the story map? We often have clients with multiple text editors who have NO experience with Story Maps/GIS - nor do we want to give them access to the back end of the story map editing. NOTE: The internal collaboration workflow doesn't work for us as we don't want non-GIS users the ability to accidentally edit the non-text content!! We've personally tried the following: Google Sheets: Cut/Paste text into Google Sheets from StoryMap, allowing us to track changes from each separate editor. We found this option horribly time-consuming to cut/paste the text and make note of what chapter/element the text was referring to. The editors still had difficulty going back/forth to see elements associated with the text. Additionally, copying the text back into the SM was also frustrating and time-intensive. Printed PDF of SM, then converted to Word Doc: This was better....but formatting often became offset, making it still difficult to discern how the text and elements related. It was also a bit troublesome to cut/paste final text back into the SM. Any thoughts on other options would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey ArcGIS Online Team, We're looking for a way to restrict zoom scales for 2D web maps and 3D web scenes. We are aware of this functionality in Web App Builder for 2D maps (but not possible in 3D WAB scenes). Is there a way to do restrict zoom scales outside of WAB (in a web map) and/or for 3D web scenes? Thank you!

Hi StoryMaps Team, We were wondering if the Spyglass functionality will be implemented into the new ArcGIS StoryMaps (similar to the classic Spyglass Classic Story Map)? In addition, do you know an approximate time for implementation if so? Thanks so much!

A question for ESRI: Might you give us any idea or potential timeline for a future SpyGlass option for the Swipe options in the StoryMap builder? We have a client with a Summer 2021 launch and we're really hoping to give them some idea of if this functionality may be on your timeline? Thanks!

Is it possible to have a StoryMap reload to the beginning of the Story after a certain amount of inactive time (i.e. if someone at a kiosk gets halfway through the Story and walks away, we hope that the next user would find the StoryMap ready at the beginning and not where the prior user left off)? Thanks!

Are there any best practices related to presenting a StoryMap on a large screen (70"-80") in a kiosk setting in regards to layout, readability, font sizes, etc? The screen will be wall-mounted, and the interaction will be driven by a trackpad. If a list of best practices doesn't exist, does anyone know of any similar projects or situations where we might be able to glean what worked and what didn't? Thanks!

Jack, Well, dang it. That was my last idea. Sorry! We do that same workflow all the time.....and it really shouldn't be that hard! If you need another example for your class utilizing Survey123 to populate an Operations Dashboard, here's one we did pro-bono for an amazing animal rescue/rehab facility in Costa Rica: Wild Sun Rescue Center - Wildlife Injury Survey & Dashboards | Blue Water GIS Good luck and what an amazing organization you are working for! It's awesome to see the next generation harnessing these powerful tools at such an early age. Great work out there! Katie

Jack - One last option for you to try. When opening your dashboard (and feel free to share the link to help the community troubleshoot with you), right click and choose "Inspect". I'm not sure if you're used this tool before, but you may see a red x in the upper right corner (see screenshot below). Click on that red x and the 'errors' on the page will be listed on the bottom. Oftentimes I can literally see the layer that is causing the kick-back to require the login info. Please note, I know literally enough to be dangerous in this realm, but have traveled down this road of trying to figure out my 'trouble layer' before. Good luck and follow up to let me know if this helped you out! Cheers! Katie
