I would like the option, similar to that available in Windows Explorer to use a single click to open folders , files, and just about anything else that requires a double click in ArcGIS, As in Windows Explorer, an item would be selected by pointing to it and a bar, checkbox or some other means would activate to show it was selected. This is partly an ergonomic need to reduce button clicks, especially double clicks. It's also to provide consistency across all programs and within ArcGIS, where some things are single click opened and some aren't.

The latest date for Landsat 8 imagery through the ArcGIS Online add data is 12/8/2016. I can't find any explanation why it isn't being updated every few weeks this year. Did I miss a news item?

I assume you have already checked the geometry of both layers. As a workaround, if you set a very small search distance does that somehow work better? Assuming that doesn't work if you run an overlay can you then use that to make queries and updates, and then join it back to your original data?

Change the order of your data frames in your TOC. I can't remember if it is the top or the bottom data frame that controls the pdf georeferencing but whatever you have, switch it.

I think you can't avoid it if your selection symbology has a fill. If it is just an outline, such as the default, you shouldn't see your labels blocked. If you want to use a fill, you could make the selection, create a layer in your project from it, and then symbolize that selection layer however you wish.

Has anything changed since this thread was active? I ask because we suddenly started receiving file geodatabase feature classes from a vendor that contained true curves. I turns out other software displaying and editing them using GDAL (which doesn't support true curves) were creating "shifts" as the edited curves in a feature class were destroyed, or whole feature classes had these mini "shifts" when converted to shapefiles. The easiest solution would be to avoid creating true curves.

You might also try to rename your ArcCatalog.gx. That actually worked once for me if I recall correctly. ESRI tech support would probably suggest you rename the entire ESRI folder to see if that works.

I see this is an old post so I hope you have found a solution already. It looks like you have rasterization occurring in your export which is affecting your contours as well as your annotation. This could occur if you have a layer above your annotation and contours in your TOC which has a transparency setting greater than 0, or uses a bitmap, or which is itself a raster. If you find your annotation disappears when you click off the Image layer in an exported pdf, then this is probably the problem. Or put your annotation layer at the top of the TOC to see if that fixes things.

ArcGIS Pro currently lacks quite a bit of functionality that is in ArcMap. I'll hazard a guess that the inability to copy and paste as you would like is what ESRI would call "functionality to be added in later versions" or some language like that. During the beta testing that was the answer given from ESRI when it was discovered that features could not be copied and pasted using the keyboard commands (ctrl+c and ctrl+v). Nevertheless I suggest you contact tech support so that they can pass the information on to those working on later Pro versions since I don't believe this difference in selection methods for copying and pasting came up in the beta testing.

If you are referring to the Compare Versions Arcscript I don't find anything on my current computers. Sorry. I recall using it at least once and I recall that it worked within expectations but I never used it thereafter. Most of the time I'm looking for spatial differences to correct or explain, so I simply put one layer in white over the other in red and visually errors just pop up. Then I switch the symbology to do the same. Another couple of alternatives you might look at. Feature compare is one. A simple union of the two layers works too, since in the area of overlap you will have attributes of both layers, and in areas of difference you will attributes of one or the other. Or a simple Intersect and then use the resulting layer to block out the two input layers.

You might use the Symmetrical Difference tool if you have the license level for it. ETGeowizards has a similar tool if you have the paid version of it. If you only have the basic license you could create two new layers, using one layer to erase overlap from the other. I don't know if this would work in your version of ArcGIS: Compare Versions If you don't want to create any new layers, you can use transparency on both to show areas of overlap and non-overlap.

I also found they are transferred when using the Save As Excel spreadsheet command. I couldn't find any way to get rid of them other than stripping them out manually. It appears those added characters are because a dbf is a database and has certain limitations, and these remind the user of them so they don't screw it up. I'd rather not have them but it suggests it is a design choice. I don't get them when I open an Excel document in Libre.
