Hello. I am trying to publish data to an ArcGIS Online 'Table (Hosted)' layer. Some of the fields contain UTC formatted times. Below is JSON text which I am posting via the Update Features API: '{"attributes": { \'key\': \'value\', \'timestamp\': \'2020-02-17 13:49:00+00:00\', \'key1\': \'value1\' } }, '{"attributes": ... }' It is my understanding that default AGOL behavior is to display UTC times in the user's local (or browser) time format. However this is not the case: The above times were not generated in the AM. By adjusting for the time difference manually, I get my correct local time. It is bizarre because I have implemented a similar process, where UTC time data is displaying as expected. These are the field settings for both the non-working and working hosted tables: This is how the working JSON is being posted: \'Timestamp\': \'2020-02-17 07:04:04.737841+00:00\' Any idea why the default behavior of AGOL is not occurring? Is there a way to edit the settings to fix this issue? Thanks. ArcGIS Online ArcGIS REST API

Hi I am curious to know if it is possible to do the following: create an ArcGIS Online item/feature/application which calls a non-ArcGIS API endpoint, the API returns a JSON response when queried, the API also requires Basic Authentication. The data is interpreted as an ArcGIS Online 'friendly' format (e.g. feature layer? Table?), which can then be added to Web Maps, Applications, Ops Dashboard etc. Thanks

Hi Claire The Category Selector could change one or more Serial Charts. It depends on the use case. e.g. There are 3 Serial Charts, they are configured to show: hourly timescale daily timescale weekly timescale By default these don't show any chart elements. Upon making a selection in the Category Selector, (e.g. Temperature), the 3 charts re-draw to display the chosen data set, with the varying timescales. Selecting 'Humidity', would again re-draw the 3 Serial Charts to display the chosen data set. Thoughts, Claire Hofius?

Hi I'm wondering if it possible to change the appearance of a Serial Chart, using Category or Number Selectors in a Operations Dashboard. e.g. 1. The Serial Chart is configured to have a Date/Time as the X axis. 2. The user selects 'Rain (24 hours)' using the category selector. 3. The Serial Chart is the target of an action, which draws Rain as the Y value. 4. The user selects 'Temperature (24 hours)' using the category selector, which de-selects 'Rain (24 hours)'. 5. The Serial Chart draws Temperature as the Y value. P.S. I would also like to know if it is possible to change the symbology of map features (using a Category Selector). e.g. high temperature points are red, low are green colour. Regards

I know this thread is old, but I thought I would add a different approach, using Operation Dashboards (ArcGIS Online). It's a bit of a workaround, but it uses the 'stack' feature of widgets. If you drag a widget onto the center of another widget, you can stack widgets on top of each other: This will give you the 'page' or 'tab'-like effect. If you SHIFT + drag widgets together, grouping the widgets, you can drag the entire group (these groups can form your Dashboard pages). Regards

I sort of figured this out, using addFeatures from the ArcGIS Online REST API. See this thread: Add multiple features in addFeatures API request? (posted by me also!)

Hi I'm writing a program to automatically add new data readings to a hosted ArcGIS Online feature layer. See the request URL below: https://services6.arcgis.com/<ID>/arcgis/rest/services/<my_table>/FeatureServer/0/addFeatures The addFeatures request takes a payload item "features", which I can successfully send as: [ { "attributes" : { "Name" : "TestName", "ColumnTwo": 2 } } ] The issue: not being able to send multiple 'features' in the above section. My hunch is I am simply miss-typing the json data. Thank you.

Hello I'm writing a Python program to publish (append) data to an ArcGIS Online feature layer, every 10 minutes. I am having issues understanding how to implement the ArcGIS REST API method required to achieve this. Doing testing with the 'Update Data > Append Data to Layer' button in ArcGIS Online; I uploaded a test .csv file and inspected the network activity in Chrome developer tools; 3. I was hoping to mimic these requests, but instead of a .csv file, the data comes from a json string in code. 4. Are addItem, analyse and append all required for this operation? 5. My understanding is that addItem requires a 'file' to be uploaded. Can I get around this by sending the data in the append request? Perhaps as a featureCollection? This all seems quite complicated, as compared to the updateFeatures method which I have used previously. Side question, I am querying a variety of sensor data. If I append the sensor data to their ArcGIS Online feature counterparts, will I end up with duplicate features, stacked on top of one another? I only need one feature for each sensor location. Am I better off not using a feature layer for this task? Regards

Using the arcGIS API method 'updateFeatres', I am unable to successfully update multiple features at once. e.g. [ { "attributes":{ "LotCode":1, "OBJECTID":18, "LotCode_x":1, "LotCode_y":"1", "Free":2344, "Occupied":4212, "IsOffline":false }, "attributes":{ "LotCode":2, "OBJECTID":19, "LotCode_x":1, "LotCode_y":"1", "Free":23, "Occupied":24, "IsOffline":false } } ] I am passing this in the 'features' parameter, as the payload for the POST request. This approach works for one feature at a time, but I have been unsuccessful in getting it to work with more than one. Could be a simple json formatting issue? Regards

Ok, I literally just figured this out after posting my question. Figures. See below: 1. Navigate to your site's /admin or /edit page: 2. Select 'Groups Manager' 3. Select 'Content Library' 4. Look all the way to the right, for the 3 dots/ellipses , click them: 5. Click 'Configure DCAT' 6. Toggle between 'Groups' and 'DCAT Feed' depending on your requirements, but here is the 'Groups' selection, as expected previously: It looks like Esri is planning some changes to this section, as evident by this alert box: Hope this helps someone else. Hi Sydney Just following up on this issue - our data is not 'confederating' with data.gov.au anymore - or at least in the way it used to I have also lost certain menus (which are evident in my screenshots above.) After clicking 'groups manager' from the drop-down previously: What I see now upon clicking 'groups manager' in the drop down: So the UI has changed somewhat between August and November. Any thoughts on this?

Just to elaborate on the above answer, because it took me a few minutes to figure out where to go: Navigate to the 'edit' section of your Open Data site: Drop down the menu and select 'Groups Manager': Now 'remove' and 'add' your Open Data group: Lastly, make sure you go back to the 'Configuration' tab and click 'Save' for the changes to take effect (at least this is what I needed to do.): Your Open Data site should now not be getting 404 errors, hopefully. Regards

You could be onto something with the second part, because the process is working as intended now. Maybe I had selected a polygon without realising... Not sure. Thank you for your help.
