The �??coordinate system�?� of the map, I�??m not sure why the list of the coordinate system doesn�??t included all the coordinate system such that one can choose the prospective one! For example, I need to let the coordinate system to appear with the coordinate system of �??Palestine -1923-Palestine-Grid�?�. Is this still possible? How to add the ???scale text??? on the map? I???m wondering if there is a way to add the ???scale text??? on the map such that the scale of the map is shown at each zoom. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20238[/ATTACH], [ATTACH=CONFIG]20239[/ATTACH] In particular cases, the ???scale bar??? is not sufficient to identify all the required issue and thus the ???scale text??? is needed all the time. The window ???zoom in???and ???zoom out??? are missed in the ???map extent??? mode, Please, have a look in the screenshot below. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20236[/ATTACH] Here the ???zoom in??? and ???zoom out??? are provided which enables window zooming at the target area. While these two tools are missed in the ???map extent??? mode! The �??operational layers�?� are not displayed in the �??map extent�?� mode, I�??m wondering why the �??operation layers�?� are not displayed while working in the �??map extent�?� mode. Moreover �??zoom to operation layers extent�?� button doesn�??t actually zoom to the extent of the these operation layers! instead, it zooms to display the repeated world!!! The equivalent widget of �??Find�?� and �??select by attribute�?� tools in the Flex? I�??m wondering if there is equivalents widget for the �??Find�?� and �??select by attribute�?� tool (of the ArcGIS Desktop) in the Flex. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20231[/ATTACH] I tried the widget of �??search�?� and �??query�?� but their behaviour is different! �?� the �??search�?� behaves as �??select by graphics�?�! �?� the �??query�?� behaves as �??zoom to�?�! The basemap of the Flex is repeating itself! I???m wondering why the ???world??? is repeated many times in the basemaps of flex and thus our ???operational layers??? are repeated as well! GIS server and ArcGIS server terms, I got confused regarding the two terms: ??? GIS server ??? ArcGIS Server [ATTACH=CONFIG]20228[/ATTACH] Is I understand them, the ArcGIS Server is the software that is installed in machine and then the user can use his ArcGIS desktop to publish (providing url: http://localhost/...) mxd, lyr, ecw, tiff, Jpg, loc, tbx, ??? files to be used then in web applications. Then how about the GIS server? What does it represent? Software? Hardware? Thank you Best Jamal

Accessing the ArcGIS services by Google earth using the url, I�??m not sure if there is a way to access the services (built by ArcGIS Server) using the Google earth BY PROVIDING the url the same why we do with the silverlight/flex. Number of instances (processes) to serve ???services???, The minimum and maximum number of the instances for a particular service is set to be 1. Nevertheless, two processes are still working! To better compare the minimum and maximum number set for the instances and the working processes, ONE service is only active. Launching the ???Services Directory??? for the ???ArcGIS Desktop???, Right clicking a service connection enables launching the ???ArcGIS Server Manager???. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20222[/ATTACH] As we are all the time in need to have the URL of the services (to stick it somewhere while developing), then why there is no such tool to launch the ???Services Directory??? while working in the ArcGIS Desktop (the same we do when launching the ???ArcGIS Server Manager??? for the ArcGIS-Catalog). I suspect that you won't have FieldTask1 because this is a custom IIS application on my machine. What I was trying to show you was how to determine physical location of web applications, in general, using IIS. I don't have the Flex Viewer but I assume that it produces web applications which run under IIS. It looks like you have a web application named "Builder". If that is not it then look in the "flexviewers" folder. Thank you Richard for the elaboration. Control Panel/Administrative Tools/IIS Manager is the tool used to manage/configure IIS. I attached a screen shot of an IIS application under the Default Web Site named FieldTask1. Select the application in the tree view and then Basic Settings... on the right hand side. Doing this will show you the physical path to the web application. A web application is more than just these bits, e.g. you have to worry which Application Pool it runs it. You can copy the bits to another machine and then recreate the application in IIS on the target machine. There probably are alternative methods to accomplish this as well.
