So when the "authorize now" popup showed up during installation, I should have just exited? That is because you are using the setup for Database Server Workgroup. For Personal SDE, there is a separate setup file. The Steps are almost similar for these two, just that the Personal SDE setup will not ask for an Authorization file in the end. Yes, if you have Desktop 10.3.1 and planning to use that to create the Personal sde geodatabase, then use the same version of Personal SDE setup. I'm assuming you are saying the GDB AND the SQL should be the same ? I can test the Personal with a copy of the Enterprise SQL at 10.3.1 SQL Server 2014 is supported with both 10.5 and 10.3.x, so that is fine. I was referring to the version of the Parent and Child geodatabase. Replication and geodatabase releases—ArcGIS Help | ArcGIS Desktop For all replication types, the child replica geodatabase must be the same geodatabase release as or a later release than the parent replica geodatabase. For example: You can create a replica using 9.2 geodatabases to host both the parent and child replicas. You can use a 9.3 geodatabase for the parent and a 10 geodatabase to host the child. You cannot use a 9.3 or 10 geodatabase to host the parent if a 9.2 geodatabase is used to host the child. This is because later versions support data types and functionality that earlier versions do not.

Personal SDE geodatabase (Desktop geodatabase) does not need a separate license file\code. You need to execute the setup (I don't recall the exact name, but I guess the name is something like 'Database Server for Desktop') for enabling the SQL Server Express instance before trying to create new Personal SDE geodatabases. Note: The child geodatabase version should be same or higher than the Parent Enterprise geodatabase.

Which edition of SQL Server? (SQL Server Express or SQL Server Standard\Enterprise, ) The error message mentions "Not enough storage", so did you check on that? SQL Server Express databases have a size limitation of 10GB, so hope you are not exceeding that.

We need some more details other than just the error message. Which SQL Server edition are you working with? (SQL Server Express or SQL Server Standard\Enterprise, ) When do you get this error? The error message mentions "Not enough storage", so did you check on that? SQL Server Express databases have a size limitation of 10GB, so hope you are not exceeding that.

Well, I personally have used the ObjectID field (for the feature class) and a self-created ID field (for the related table) without any problem as off now. If the ObjectID of the feature changes in the feature class, it should automatically make that change in the related table too. Test it out and check if it suits you. Coming to think of it, the ObjectID of the feature class will not change unless doing an Import\Export, in which case you will have to rebuilt the Relationship Class and everything can be a mess. So as long as your Feature class is going to stay in the same gdb or you can use Copy\Paste to transfer data, using ObjectIDs should work fine. Otherwise it may not be the optimal solution for everyone.

Relationship Class is a geodatabase functionality and so you cannot use a Database table (Table created from the database end and not registered with the geodatabase) in it. As Jayanta suggested, register that Table with the geodatabase (Connect as Data Owner> R-click on the Table> Manage> Register with Geodatabase) and then check.

Seems like the Oracle Full Database Backup/Restore process may not have been done correctly. It is being treated as a Simple database. (Check if R-clicking on the connection file in ArcCatalog gives you the 'Enable Geodatabase' option) Also Step-4 is not necessary. Its for simple databases and not Enterprise Geodatabase. The Create Spatial Type tool adds or upgrades the ST_Geometry SQL type, subtypes, and functions to an Oracle or PostgreSQL database. This allows you to use the ST_Geometry SQL type to store geometries in a database that does not contain a geodatabase. This tool also can be used to upgrade an existing ST_Geometry installation in an Oracle or PostgreSQL database.
