Hello, I manage the GIS of the city that I work for, which is mostly used by our Public Works, Engineering, and Planning departments. I was asked if we could stand up our own public crime map and I found the Public Crime Map that is now part of the Police Transparency solution. A previous public crime map that a vendor ran for us only had incident number, type, date, and street block. My understanding is that was all that CJIS would allow for us to put on the public map. Looking at the Crimes_public feature layer that is part of the Police Transparency solution, there are a lot more fields including things like Full Address, Victim Offender Relationship Code/Description/Group, Offense Narrative, and Location Code/Description. Are all the fields in the Crimes_public feature layer allowed to be shared with the public?

Does anyone know if it is possible to publish a "public" survey that is only available to members of my organization that have a named user account regardless of their User Type? There are a few situations in our organization that it would be nice to get feedback from our named users with a User Type of Viewer. Some examples are signing up for GIS training, reporting map quality issues, or just giving Viewers the ability to provide feedback about ArcGIS Online/Portal.

No need to apologize. I appreciated your comments, especially that Esri has plans to improve their server software stack. I just wanted to clarify the issue that I am running into that prompted me to submit this idea. We use a mix of hosted and non-hosted GIS services, so I am always going back and forth between ArcGIS Server Manager and ArcGIS Portal to manage all of our services. It does make more sense to expand ArcGIS Portal to manage non-hosted feature services, than it does to port ArcGIS Portal's filter functionality to ArcGIS Server Manager.

We still have many non-hosted GIS services, so I have to use ArcGIS Server Manager to manage those non-hosted GIS services. I would love it if the functionality in ArcGIS Server Manager made its way into ArcGIS Portal because that would simplify administration and provide a consistent UI to manage ArcGIS Enterprise in. As the number of non-hosted GIS services has increased the need for filter tools and bulk change settings tools would greatly help with the way the ArcGIS Server is currently designed. Bulk publishing has made the lack of filters and bulk change settings tools more noticeable as of late.

Yes sir, but I am looking for something more like the ArcGIS Portal filter UI. That way I do not have to remember what the various keywords are and I can combine criteria. Currently the search functionality is very limited. ArcGIS Portal 10.8.1 filter UI example:

Currently when trying to view ArcGIS Server Manager in a small window or small screen, UI elements are rendered off screen and you have to scroll side to side to see all the information. I would like to see the UI of ArcGIS Server Manager rewritten using a responsive web design framework that supports adjusting UI elements to best fit the screen based on the size of the screen. An example of what I am looking for is ArcGIS Portal 10.8.1. At that version of ArcGIS Portal, I can easily navigate and view the content no matter the screen size.

Add the ability to select multiple services and change common settings at the same time. Here are some examples of what I have in mind: If nothing is in common then the only option would be to start/stop the services. If all the services are dedicated then allow modifying the pooling settings. If all the selected services are map services then allow changing the operations allowed settings. One problem with this is what to do when common settings have different values. Should the changes be ignored, should the changes be made with a warning and prompt to continue, or should their be a flag that lets the user decide whether to ignore or overwrite? I think the idea Filter services listed in ArcGIS Server Manager would help with selecting services to change in bulk.

Add the ability to filter the services shown in a folder based on predefined criteria. The UI could be similar to how ArcGIS Portal does filtering. Some of the filter categories/options could be: type status instance type tags capabilities (I think this would be populated by common capabilities depending on the service type filter currently selected. So if there are no common capabilities then this category would be blank.)

I use the dynamic text "contactname" for our custom print service, but it is not a perfect solution. If you print from a web map it shows the name of the currently logged in user. However, the WebApp Builder print widget overwrites the contactname with whatever value is in the author field. So if you leave the author field blank the contactname is blank. I agree that there should be a dynamic text value that provides the name of the currently logged in user no matter how the print service is being consumed and cannot be overwritten by widgets. Here is the current dynamic text that I use: <dyn type="layout" property="metadata" attribute="contactname" emptyStr=""/>

Provide a way for users to set a default pane layout that is used for all new projects. Currently ArcGIS Pro opens up all the panes that were opened in the last project that was being used. This is cumbersome because many of my projects do not need the same panes open. So I am constantly having to close panes when starting new projects to clean up the interface. I think this idea could be combined with idea Save Pane Layout to provide users a way to define and apply their default pane layout. Then idea Save open panes in ArcGIS Pro at the project level, not the user could be used to open/close the correct panes when using an existing project. With these three ideas combined, a user has a way to define and save a default pane layout for new projects, and existing projects open with the correct pane layout because it is saved in the project file and ignores the default pane layout. There could even be a checkbox in ArcGIS Pro settings at the project settings level that is unchecked by default that asks the user if they want to save the pane layout to the project file. That way the default pane layout is always used unless the user explicitly saves a pane layout to the project file, so if the default layout changes all projects with this setting unchecked see the new default pane layout.

This would make getting a new project up and running faster if you already have a pane layout for the workflow involved already made. For anyone that likes this idea, I would recommend checking out an idea to save pane layouts to the project file: Save open panes in ArcGIS Pro at the project level, not the user

This idea makes so much sense to me. Typically my different ArcGIS Pro projects have different workflows and thus require different panes to be open to complete those workflows. To this day I am constantly having to open or close panes when switching projects. This would also help with sharing projects because when other users open my project on a different device they would see the project pane layout the way I intended it to look. So please at least add the option to save the pane layout to a project file.
