Is it possible to host a GeoProcessing service on ArcGIS online. We have an organizational account of ArcGIS online and I wish to host Extract Data GeoProcessing service on that. However when I do Share As-> GeoProcessing service , I am not able to see my ArcGIS online server name in the available connections. Thanks

I know that we can use ArcGIS sdk to upload new features in ArcGIS online, but is there any other way of sharing web maps? Can we save a web map in our device? or can we save a feature layer attribute table in our device? thanks

Thanks a lot Mike and Divesh. I didnot know about the offline capability on 10.2. Thanks for sharing that. I am really excited now thinking about the possibilities. Mike could you share some literature on tile caching like you were mentioning the order of tile cache storage in your post. I am asking this because if not for ESRI support for offline caching, I am clueless on how to write my own routine for caching tiles on the go. Some technical literature would be very useful. Thanks again

I have read time and again here that it is not possible/permitted to cache google maps / bing maps using ESRI API for iOS However I was using the GPS Kit by Garafa on my iPhone, and it has the capability to cache map tiles specified by the user by drawing a rectangular, circular or free hand region by finger on the map. The type of maps supported for caching are: Google Terrain Google Cycling Google Satellite Google Street Bing Shaded Relief Bing Street Bing Image Google Hybrid Open Street Open Topo the main question is that how is it possible for Garafa to cache google maps/ bing maps in their app if the Bing doesnot support caching tiles for offline use. Do we have to buy a license from Bing or Google in order to cache tiles in the app on the go?

Thanks for the reply and the code. I think this is a way sure but I doubt that this solution will hit performance as the number of layers increase because of adding more and more invisible basemaps. However for small applications this can work. Thanks

I am also having the same feeling. However there must be a way to bypass this. Hope that some one from ESRI development team reply on this thread.

Hi, I am having the same issue with displaying multiple feature layers on the map at the same time. The problem is that the TimeExtent is bound to the Map which is hosting these layers. IF anyone has found the solution for this issue. Please let us know.

I am using ArcGIS API for WPF for my mapping application and my goal in this mapping application is to display time aware featurelayers and then use a TimeSlider (ESRI TimeSlider) to change the Time Extent of the layers. I am using the following two layers provided by ESRI. http://sampleserver3.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Earthquakes/Since_1970/MapServer/0 http://sampleserver3.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Hurricanes/NOAA_Tracks_1851_2007/MapServer/0 I am using ESRI TimeSlider as follows. <esri:TimeSlider x:Name="GTTimeSlider" Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="0" Grid.ColumnSpan="5" TimeMode="TimeExtent" MinimumValue="{Binding LayerTimeExtentStart,Mode=TwoWay}" MaximumValue="{Binding LayerTimeExtentEnd,Mode=TwoWay}" Value="{Binding LayerTimeExtent,Mode=TwoWay}" Intervals="{Binding LayerTimeIntervals, Mode=OneTime}" BorderBrush="White" Background="{x:Null}" > </esri:TimeSlider> The properties `LayerTimeExtent`, `LayerTimeExtentEnd` and `LayerTimeExtentStart` are set in the ViewModel for the `TimeSlider`. These values are initialized based on the TimeExtent of the feature layers which I mentioned above when they are added on the map. Using DataBinding I have bound these properties to the BaseMap using: Binding myBinding = new Binding("LayerTimeExtent"); myBinding.Source = this; map.SetBinding(Map.TimeExtentProperty, myBinding); The issue arises when I add both layers at the same time to the map. Although both layers initialize their own TimeSliders but changing the value of `TimeSlider` on one layer dialog box changes the `TimeExtent` value on the other layer as well as both are on the map at that moment and the map `TimeExtentProperty` is bound to the Value of `TimeSlider`. Is there a work around for this problem? Here is a screenshot of the TimeSlider View along with the layers added on the basemap.

Can you explain your problem a little in detail? I am not sure if I understood the meaning of calculating the direction of two points. A point does not have a direction associated with it. It is just a point.

Hi, I have created an application which takes username and password from an arcgis online user and then returns his/her private services and generates token for each one of them. However The 40% of the time the tokens generated are invalid using the REST API. Does any one else experienced this issue as well? Thanks

I think it should be the same Token. I try to have time today to test this out. How do you query the root level? I suppose that is a custom REST call? Yes it is a custom Json query which returns with the list of services and their urls.
