Hi Megan, Robert Scheitlin has decided to take a break from the ESRI Community Forums. I will try my best to help you. The good news is that Robert’s Enhanced Search Widget version 2.23.1 works flawlessly with Web AppBuilder Developer Edition 2.27. You can try out all the features in our Historical Aerial Photography App: https://gis.maricopa.gov/GIO/HistoricalAerial I have enabled all 4 Tabs in the Enhanced Search Widget. By Shape By Value By Spatial Results Open the By Value Tab and set your Search Layer = Zip Code Select Zip Code = 85006 from the drop-down list. Press Search The map will zoom to Zip Code 85006. It will be highlighted in orange. There could be many reasons why you are getting the “Search failed” error message. Robert made some changes to his latest version of his Enhanced Search Widget. This means configuration files that were created for earlier versions would no longer work. They would throw the “Search failed” error message. The solution is to delete the old configuration file and start building a new one from scratch. It could be other reasons like you are missing the proxy settings in your config.json file. It could also be that you have not configured your own Geometry Service. I am including all the steps in this PDF file for you to try: http://davidapps.net/megan.pdf You can download this ZIP file which includes Robert's eSearch Widget version 2.23.1 and a copy of a fully configured config.json file. http://davidapps.net/megan.zip Best regards, David Das

Hi Jonathan, I am using the Enhanced Coordinate Widget designed by Frederic Poliart from ESRI Australia to open a separate Google Maps Window. https://community.esri.com/t5/experience-builder-custom-widgets/enhanced-exb-coordinate-widget/m-p/1302310 This replaces our Google Earth and Google Street View widgets we were using in WAB. I really like how you have designed your Kenosha County Interactive Mapping Website. https://mapping.kenoshacountywi.gov/InteractiveMapping/ Would you be kind enough to share your Custom Annotation Widget with us? You have added every single feature I need to position and style my Annotation including adding a halo and specifying a custom Text Angle. This is brilliant! The ability to add Annotation is sorely missing in the ESRI Draw Widget for EXB at version 1.12. Your Annotation Widget will be the perfect solution of all of us. Best regards, David Das

You may have run into this issue where you are attempting to Download a ZIP file of your Experience Builder Developer Project. The download process spawns a Loading Page with a spinning wheel. After waiting for a while, you get this error message: So you attempt to Download the ZIP file a second time. You get this new error message: Not Found How do you proceed? I have found a way get around this issue which works most of the time. You can manually assemble the necessary files by following the steps in the included PDF. Best regards, David Das

Hi Frederic, Success!!! I was able to modify your custom widget to turn it into our Pictometry Widget. Your widget captures the Lat/Long coordinates of the centroid of your map and constructs the necessary URL to launch Google Maps in a separate window. Here is an example of the Google 3D URL: https://www.google.com/maps/place/@33.44849,-112.09398,489a,35y,0.0h,0t,489m/data=!3m1!1e3 This widget can be easily repurposed to open a Pictometry Window which requires the same Lat/Long coordinates to be formatted in a different way like so. https://gis.maricopa.gov/pictometry/default.aspx?&qlat=33.44849&qlong=-112.09398 I am including a ZIP file that shows the changes that were made to make create the Google Maps and Pictometry Widgets and make them work in EXB Developer Edition 1.12 with Node.js 14.21.3. Here is how I got them working side by side. The Google Map Widget launches the Google Maps Window. https://www.google.com/maps/@33.44849,-112.09398,518m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu The Pictometry Widget launches the Pictometry Window. https://gis.maricopa.gov/pictometry/default.aspx?&qlat=33.44849&qlong=-112.09398 The included ZIP file contains the fully configured Google Maps and Pictometry Widgets and a ReadMe PDF that contains all the instructions. I have one enhancement request. Could you change the [Link] into a large button? Before: After: Best regards, David

Hi Frederic, We love your Enhanced EXB Coordinate Widget! It is working like a charm in EXB version 1.12 (July, 2023). I have added your Custom Widget to the Widget Controller. This is how your Widget appears: It tracks the Lat/Long Coordinates as you move the cursor over the map. When you click on the [Link], it opens a separate Google Maps Window. https://www.google.com/maps/@33.44849,-112.09398,1131m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu Hover your mouse over the Map Layers thumbnail. Select More Activate Globe View Turn on the Satellite Imagery You can now use your mouse wheel to zoom in/out. You can hold down the Control Key while dragging your mouse to get the full 3D experience in Google Maps. To change the Tilt, move the mouse up or down while holding down the Control Key. To change the Rotation, move the mouse to the left or right while holding down the Control Key. You did a terrific job with this Custom Widget for making Google Maps readily accessible to all our EXB Apps. I hope you will continue to keep this Custom Widget updated through all future releases of the Experience Builder. I had 1 Enhancement Request. Would it be possible to modify the look and feel of this Custom Widget when added to the Widget Controller? For example, what if instead of the [Link] I wanted to have a button with the Text = Select Location. The user would click anywhere on the map to get the map coordinates. Your Custom Widget would read these map coordinates and launch a separate Google Maps window. I had a second Enhancement Request. Could you make this Custom Widget more universal so that the user can attach a custom string to the Lat/Long Coordinates to open some other program like a Pictometry Window? Let me explain this through an example. Here is our highly popular Historical Aerial Photography App. https://gis.maricopa.gov/GIO/HistoricalAerial/ You can enter this Parcel Number in the Search Tool = 112-08-134B The map will zoom to the Arizona State Capitol Building. Open the Pictometry Widget. You get a button to Select a Location. Click on the State Capitol. This opens a separate Pictometry Window with this URL: https://gis.maricopa.gov/pictometry/default.aspx?&qlat=33.44806452764903&qlong=-112.09737111757926 It is very easy to construct this URL if you have the Lat/Long Coordinates. Your Custom Widget can already pick up these Lat/Long Coordinates. So, if you allow the user to append a custom string to your Lat/Long Coordinates, I can repurpose your Custom Widget to make it our Pictometry Widget in EXB. For reference, this is our Config.json file for the WAB version of the Pictometry Widget. { "configText": "//gis.maricopa.gov/pictometry/default.aspx?" } Once again, thanks a million for all your efforts in creating this valuable Custom Widget and making it freely available to use. This is the ideal way to launch Google Maps at your selected location to explore the world in 2D and 3D and get the Street View information. Best regards, David

Hi Kevin, We love your Pictometry Widget for the Web AppBuilder. We use it on all our Web Apps. For example, here is our Historical Aerial Photography Web App. https://gis.maricopa.gov/GIO/HistoricalAerial/ Your Pictometry Widget works like a charm. We would be migrating to the Experience Builder platform. Would you consider porting your Pictometry Widget to EXB? I would be very grateful, and our users would be absolutely delighted if you ever decide to take on this project. Thanks a million for all the Custom Widgets you have designed and maintained for the WAB platform. Best regards, David Das

Hi Jeremie, We love your Enhanced Draw Widget for the Web AppBuilder Developer Edition. You did an amazing job coding this! It works flawlessly in WAB 2.27. Your eDraw widget gets used a lot by our customers. Do you have any plans to port this widget to the Experience Builder Developer Edition? The Draw widget that comes with the EXB Dev Edition is very basic. It does not even allow you to add Text. We would like to have the functionality of your eDraw widget in the EXB platform before we complete the migration. Best regards, David Das

Hi Jonathan, Thanks so much for your prompt and comprehensive response. I am using very much the same EXB Dev environment as yours – EXB Dev 1.11 with Node.js version 14.21.3 (Fermium). I share your disappointment from learning about the Google restrictions in this thread. However, I appreciate you giving me the tips from an academic standpoint. I learned something valuable today. Best, David

Hi Robert, I ran into a problem with your Enhanced Search Widget 2.23.1 with Web AppBuilder 2.27. The Widget Configuration Panel does not close after I press the OK button. How to reproduce the problem 1. Launch Web AppBuilder 2.27 2. Create a New Project 3. Select the Default (2D) Template 4. Open the Widget Tab 5. Add a Widget 6. Add the Enhanced Search Widget 2.23.1 7. Press the OK button. The Configuration Window does not close. Best regards, David

Hi Robert, I downloaded Experience Builder Developer Edition 1.11 (April 2023) and found that it broke your Measurement Widget EB 1.9.0. When I attempt to draw a line or polygon the associated graphics do not show up. Measure a Line I see the distance is being calculated correctly. However, the graphics are not showing up. Measure an Area I see that the Measurement widget is reporting the Area and Perimeter, but the graphics I am drawing on the map are not showing up. Measure a Point I do see the point on the map. This is working. Best regards, David Das

Please use Enhanced Search Widget version 2.21.1 on your Portal version 10.9.1. I have verified this version of the Enhanced Search Widget to work flawlessly on Enterprise 10.9.1 I can configure the Enhanced Search Widget without any issues. All the Tabs – By Shape, By Value, By Spatial, Results – all work ok. Here is an example of the Enhanced Search Widget 2.21.1 with all tabs enabled. https://gis.maricopa.gov/GIO/HistoricalAerial/ I got this to work on Enterprise 10.9.1 Please make sure you are using Web AppBuilder Developer Edition 2.25

Hi Robert, Yes, that did the trick. This looks perfect. You have a solution for everything! I learned something new today from your clever code snippet how one can change the background and foreground color. I had no clue that this can be done. I agree ESRI should give us the option to select these icons and set the colors while configuring the Layer/List Widget in the AGOL edition of the Experience Builder. Best regards, David Das

Hi Robert, Thanks a million for that excellent tip! I like how it looks with the Eye Symbol replaced with the Tick boxes. Can we take this one step closer to the Web AppBuilder version? What symbol should I use to get the white checkmark against a blue background? This makes it easier to see which layers have been turned on. Best regards, David Das
